RACE 1 – WAGGA WAGGA CITY COUNCIL PACE – 1740 metres

IM NO TROUBLE – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

MISTER CRUNCH – Hung in passing the 300 metres and contacted marker pegs for which a warning was issued.

ELLE ARE EM – Driver Shane Hallcroft was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding after tiring over the concluding stages to beaten 61.5 metres. Mr Hallcroft stated the gelding worked harder than anticipated in the early stages and tonight’s event was a rise in grade. After considering the overall performance of the gelding, a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed ELLE ARE EM to have a poor post-race recovery.

STARSHINE LADY – Passing the 600 metres the near side lugging pole broke. Driver Russell Campbell was issued a reprimand under Rule 170(1)(a) for allowing his left foot to drop below the sulky rest when activating gear.

 

RACE 2 – STEEL SUPPLIES PACE – 1740 metres

CEE WHOS BETTOR NZ - Pre-race blood sample.

SMOKIN POCKET – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have sustained a small laceration to the near fore pastern however no stand down penalty was imposed.

SHARPER MEMORY – Hung in and raced roughly passing the 250 metres. Approaching the 50 metres was checked as a result of KASBAH breaking gait.

BUBBY TO BASE – Post-race swab sample.

KASBAH – Approaching the 50 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

BEACH DELIGHT - Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 3 – ALAN HARRIS MCDONALD FUNERAL HOMES PACE – 1740 metres

STICHED UP DAN - Pre-race blood sample.

UNCLE TIGER – Over raced during the middle stages.

GO WITHOUT – Post-race swab sample.

TROUVILLE – Galloped out for which a warning was issued. Passing the 400 metres broke free of interference. Considering the record of the gelding it will now be required to perform two requalifying trials and will be stood down for 14 days.

YUKON BE SERIOUS NZ – Driver George Leee was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 4 – RIVERINA CRANE SERVICES LADYSHIP PACE – 1740 metres

LUNAR WITCH – Over raced throughout the middle stages. Hung in rounding the final turn and contacted marker pegs.

MY LITTLE BO - Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

DOLCE DRAMA – Driver KerryAnn Morris was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(f) for shifting up the track before reaching the starting point.

 

RACE 5 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP CONSOLATION – RIVERINA – 2270 metres

SHES A WARRAWEE - Pre-race blood sample.

UNCLE JAY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations as the gelding is 13 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were reported on either occasion. Passing the 250 metres locked wheels with IM ALRITE and was checked as a result of that runner hanging in.

CAPTAIN RIVAL – Inconvenienced approaching the 400 metres when being held up behind SIX AGAIN when that runner gave ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MESSERATI – Over raced throughout.  Post-race swab sample.

HES A TERROR - Underwent pre and post-trace veterinary examinations as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were reported on either occasion.

IM ALRITE – Approaching the 250 metres hung in and locked wheels with UNCLE JAY. Driver Cameron Hart was questioned on the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding having finished in 12th and last position beaten 39.6 metres. Mr Hart explained the fast mile rate of 1.55.0 the longer distance of 2270 metres, and racing three wide for the final lap all contributed to the overall performance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 6 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL – RIVERINA – 2270 metres

VIEW THE ART - Pre-race blood sample. Driver Luke McCarthy was questioned regarding the performance of VIEW THE ART where after racing behind the leader, gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 10th position beaten 30.4 metres. Mr McCarthy stated the mare over raced during the event and felt the fast overall mile rate of 1:53.6 may have contributed to the performance.

CORTEZ - Pre-race blood sample. Driver Taylah Osmond was questioned regarding the performance of CORTEZ which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 12th position beaten 47 metres. Ms Osmond explained the gelding races best when able to lead and felt the fast overall mile rate of 1:53.6 may have contributed to the performance.

THALASSOPHOBIA - Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

KIMCANDO – Hung in under pressure.

TUKAHA - Pre-race blood sample. Hung in under pressure. Post-race swab sample.

SEASIDE DELIGHT – Driver Blake Micallef was questioned regarding the performance of SEASIDE DELIGHT which finished in 11th position beaten 42.5 metres. Mr Micallef explained the gelding worked forward early in the race to obtain the position outside the leader from which point on the pace didn’t ease and Mr Micallef felt this contributed to the performance.

 

RACE 7 – THE BIDGEE (LISTED CLASSIC) – 2800 metres

RAKAJED NZ – Over raced during the event.

CYA ART NZ – Pre-race warm up.

OLIVER DAN - Pre-race blood sample.

WHEREYABINBOPPIN – Commenced to tire form the 900 metres to be beaten 220 metres. Driver Taylah Osmond was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding and could offer no explanation other than the gelding was disappointing. Given the overall performance, WHEREYABINBOPPPIN will be required to perform one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

CATCH A WAVE – Raced roughly passing the 250 metres. Driver Kate Gath was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 5th position beaten 23.4 metres. Ms Gath stated that although the performance was disappointing, she did note the gelding failed to handle the track at any stage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the off foreleg. Acting on veterinary recommendations, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
