GENERAL: TAMWORTH PACEWAY TRACKWORK: 9/11/25

Licensed stable hand Ms M Schwalbach, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR231(2), stating that she did misconduct herself during trackwork, when she mounted the sulky and became pillion when a driven horse was being walked back to its stable, when not permitted to do so and not wearing any protective apparel. Ms Schwalbach was fined $400. Considering all the circumstances, including this being a first offence of any nature, Ms Schwalbach’s frankness and genuine remorse, the operation of the penalty was suspended for 12 months should she not reoffend any rules relative to conduct matters.

 

Licensed C grade driver Mr C James, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR172(2), stating that whilst driving a horse he operated a mobile communication device. Mr James was fined $200. Considering all the circumstances, including this being a first offense of any nature, Mr James’ frankness and genuine remorse, the operation of the penalty was suspended in full for 12 months should he not reoffend any rules relative to his conduct.

 

RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1609 metres.

SPARKLIG SUE – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 2 – PORTABLE HORSE STABLES PACE – 1609 metres

ROOBEE – Pre-race blood sample. Slow to begin.

RIPPIN AN TWISTIN – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn after the start and galloped for some distance. Trainer/driver Mr J Donovan was advised that the provision of last chance to race truly would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

WHAT AGAIN SHANNON – Acting on a confirmed phone call that the float transporting the gelding to the races had broken down. It was withdrawn at 12.37pm.

ALTIANO – Hampered and had to be checked shortly after the start when attempting to avoid ROOBEE.

HEAVENLY TURBO – Hampered and had to be shifted wider rounding the turn after the start when attempting to avoid RIPPIN AN TWISTIN.

WAITPINGA REACTOR – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

 

RACE 3 – CARPET ONE FLOOR & HOME TAMWORTH PACE – 1609 metres

BRAVE BONDI – Galloped away when the start was affected. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing record. Post-race swab sample.

BE GOOD BENNY – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.

AGENT CALLAN – Pre-race blood sample. Weakened noticeably inside the 500 metres despite the efforts of its driver. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

LOOKAT MEE – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and galloped for a considerable distance before being able to be restrained. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

THUNDAMENTAL – Broke stride free of any external factors in the latter part of the score up and galloped. Connections were advised that the gelding would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 4 – TAMWORTH TREATED TIMBERS – HORSE BEDDNG PACE – 1609 metres.

THOMAS ROYAL – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

COUNTRY MAJOR – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and galloped for a short distance. Trainer/driver Mr T Ison was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. When questioned in relation to the performance Mr Ison expressed disappointment, however, could offer no excuse for it and said that despite racing in a prominent position when placed under pressure, the gelding was unresponsive. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Ison was advised that prior to racing again COUNTRY MAJOR must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

 

RACE 5 – FILLIES N COLTS CAFÉ RINGERS RD PACE – 1609 metres

GROSESTAR – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Post-race swab sample.

BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 6 – BROCK SAMPSON GOLF LADYSHIP PACE – 1980 metres

LINE OF COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample.

BELLRIVERGIRL – Sustained a flat tyre passing the 600 metres.

IM NO GIFT – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

GIRLSGOTCURLS – Unable to obtain clear running at any stage inside the 200 metres and went to the finish without being tested.

WHENS LUNCH – Had to be continually checked approaching and rounding the home turn when racing in restricted room behind GIRLSGOTCURLS and inside IM NO GIFT, then after being held up in the early part of the straight had to be shifted wider over the concluding stages, in an effort to obtain clear running.

ADRENALINE RUSH – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 7 – TMFM95.6 AFTERNOONS WITH DAN SAUNDERS PACE – 1980 metres

IM LORD TOMMY – Pre-race blood sample.

TRALEE SNICKAS – post-race swab sample.
