All Driver’s engaged to drive in races tonight were subject to alcohol breath testing, with all providing clear samples.
RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 2270 metres
MASON DIXON LINE – Raced roughly momentarily near the 100 metres.
FEELGOOD RAY – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the race.
FULL OF SPICE – Pre-race swab sampled. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the race. Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.
KRISTYSGIRL – Post-race swab sampled.
RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE STUD PACE – 1740 metres
THIS TIME NZ – Pre-race swab sampled.
HEAVENS BADGIRL – Post-race swab sampled.
MOP NZ – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.
RACE 3 – POSEIDON ANIMAL HEALTH PACE – 2270 metres
CHEEZ – Hung-out under pressure in the home straight, conceding ground after leading. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from a poor post-race recovery. Driver H O’Neill when queried regarding the performance stated that it travelled well during the race until near the 400 metres when it was under pressure and didn’t respond to his urgings. He added that he was disappointed with its effort over the concluding stages.
BLUES TERROR – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.
THE TALK – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.
SPRING DELIGHT – Hung-out under pressure in the home straight.
IM HARVEY SPECTER NZ – Contacted the sulky wheel of FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ approaching the 200 metres was checked and raced roughly. At a subsequent inquiry, Driver M Towers pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that approaching the 200 metres when shifting his runner in, he did not provide sufficient room, and his runner has contacted the sulky wheel of FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ and raced roughly, as a result of the contact FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ suffered a flat tyre. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account M Towers’ guilty plea, his good driving record with regards to this rule, and the particular circumstances of the incident. Driver M Towers had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days.
ROCK THE NATION NZ – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.
FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ – Sulky wheel contacted by IM HARVEY SPECTER NZ approaching the 200 metres where it sustained a flat tyre.
HES A TERROR – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.
RACE 4 – BOOTS CIVIL ENGINEERING PACE – 1740 metres
ART SPACE – Pre-race swab sampled. Gave ground over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race Veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormalities, although it was reported that she did have a slower than normal recovery. Driver B Hewitt was queried regarding the below market expectations performance of the filly, he stated that he was a bit disappointed with its run but added that it is probably not suited leading, however from the inside front row draw today and being down in grade he felt that was going to be his best option. He added that the filly may be getting towards the end of her preparation.
VIN NUMBER – Post-race swab sampled.
HEZASWEETIE NZ – Raced roughly rounding the turn near the 1400 metres, for which a warning was issued. Checked when its sulky wheel was contacted by HES CHARLIES ANGEL near the 600 metres.
HES CHARLIES ANGEL – Contacted the sulky wheel of HEZASWEETIE NZ near the 600 metres and broke gait. At a subsequent inquiry, Driver A Diebert pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that near the 600 metres when shifting her runner out, she did not provide sufficient room, and her runner has contacted the sulky wheel of HEZASWEETIE NZ and broken gait, as a result of the contact HEZASWEETIE NZ was checked. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account A Diebert’s guilty plea, her good driving record with regards to this rule, and the particular circumstances of the incident. Driver A Diebert had her license to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days, to commence at midnight the 25th of November. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormalities.
SCARED STIFF NZ – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
RACE 5 – WAGGA TRADESMAN ACCOUNTING SERVICES PACE – 2270 metres
JANIE BLU – Broke gait after the start, given the filly’s record connections were advised that she would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races.
WE DEALIN DIAMONDS – Pre-race swab sampled.
BEACH DELIGHT – Post-race swab sampled.
RACE 6 – NUTRIEN EQUINE 2YO PACE – 1740 metres
SPARTAN SHIELD – Raced greenly during the early and middle stages of the event. Hung-in under pressure upon entering the home straight and shifted out when being corrected approaching the 100 metres.
EMERGING DEAL – Trainer B Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 210 for not declaring a Driver for the filly by the required time. Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.
FIVE OCLOCK WAVE – Pre-race swab sampled.
TROUBLE IN ME – Hung-out and broke gait entering the first turn, given it was just the colt’s third race start connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial. Hung-out approaching the 800 metres.
AMERIKIN RUNA – Hung-in entering the first turn. Post-race swab sampled.
WILLIAM AITCH – Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.
RACE 7 – FERELLA & SONS PLUMBING PACE – 2270 metres
SNIPERS FIRE – Post-race swab sampled.
MIKI LOCH – Pre-race swab sampled.
