RACE 3 – WOODLANDS STUD STALLIONS – THE MARKET LEADER FFA – 2300 metres

DOM TORETTO NZ – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

UBETCHA TIGERPIE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1600 metres. Post-race swab sample.

PETES SAID SO NZ – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Worked forward to the lead passing the 200 metres.

HELLUVA NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1650 metres.

UNFAZED NZ – Driver Zara Fitzpatrick was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain her position behind the mobile barrier prior to the start.

BAINBRIDGE – Driver James Rattray was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain her position behind the mobile barrier prior to the start.

RACE 4 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

TITIAN RAIDER – Pre-race blood sample.

RAGING SEA – Broke stride free of interference passing the 1000 metres after considering the recent record of the gelding a warning was issued.

HES A MEISTER NZ – Post-race swab sample.

ITOJE NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1000 metres.

GUILTY PARTY – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 5 – ULTRA AIR LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

CRUNCHIE DIVA – Pre-race blood sample.

WHILEMENA RITA – Post-race swab sample.

CHEEKY KISS – Improved three wide from the 1100 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 800 metres.

SHEZ THE REASON – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.

RACE 6 – SUCCESS STUD YEARLING PREP PACE – 1609 metres

RIVERA LOU – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

MR TEDDY NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Raced ungenerously between the 500 metres and the 400 metres checking ITZMINEONTHELINE.

BARNSTORMER NZ – Broke stride during the score up. After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was placed out of the mobile barrier draw.

ITZMINEONTHELINE – Pre-race bloods sample. Checked behind MR TEDDY NZ between the 500 metres and the 400 metres.

MICHAYWEY – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

CARLO GAMBINO NZ – Driver Jye Coney pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a), in that he applied the whip to the gelding in the middle stages of the home straight in a manner which was not considered to be a wrist only flicking motion. After considering the recent record of Mr Coney, he was fined $200.

RACE 7 – CORDINA FOOD CO TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

JACKIES GIFT – Stewards questioned Driver Grant Forrest with regards to the performance of JACKIES GIFT which commenced to give ground from the 1200 metres before finishing in 9^th placing beaten 129 metres. Mr Forrest advised Stewards the filly was having its first run in the past 3 to 4 weeks and was racing up in grade this evening as a result of the lower graded race not standing up. Mr Forrest further added he would look to keep the filly racing in lower grade and over the shorter distance in the future. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the recent record of the filly, it was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

HES A HAMMER – Inconvenienced between the 500 metres and the 400 metres when AFFAIRE DE COVER gave ground.

ITZFERGIETIME – Pre-race blood sample.

SHOULD BEABARCA – Inconvenienced from the 1950 metres until the 1850 metres behind JACKIES GIFT.

SUNNY GEE – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced from the 1950 metres until the 1850 metres behind JACKIES GIFT.

PESCO POLLO – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 8 – IRT PACE – 1609 metres

OUR UNCLE JIM - Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

VAN BASTEN – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

FIRE FOX NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1000 metres.

HAS THE COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample.

SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ – Broke stride free of interference passing the 350 metres and as a result was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed a suspected fracture to the pedal bone on the near side hind leg. Acting on veterinary recommendations the gelding was stood down for a period of 28 days and the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.
