A post-race Veterinary examination, revealed the gelding to have lacerations to its right knee, both hocks, right shoulder and the right side of its back. Connections were advised that they would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding prior to its next race start.

SPECIAL SPIN – Commenced to hang-out near the 600 metres and broke gait a short distance later, given the gelding’s record connections were advised that it would be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and would be required to perform 2 re-qualifying trials. RACE 9 – NUTRIEN EQUINE PACE – 1730 metres

WINDY HILL WHISKEY – Driver A Turnbull was questioned regarding the performance of the filly and her tactcis adopted with it, in particular her resisting the challenge for the lead from BAM BAM BROOK in the early stages of the event when the pace of the race was quick until surrendering the lead to that runner approaching the 1000 metres. A Turnbull stated that she was disappointed with the filly tonight and felt it failed to run in a genuine manner after surrendering the lead. She added that she was reluctant to surrender the lead to that runner in the early stages of the event given that two starts prior her filly had beaten that runner comfortably when leading throughout. She further added that her filly may be better suited leading on the smaller tracks than that of tonight’s race. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

WATCH ME RAIDER – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

Driver J Coney was questioned regarding the tactics adopted with the gelding, in particular him appearing to allow COWBOY CULTURE which was caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event, to obtain the position ahead of him in the running line approaching the 1200 metres. J Coney stated that his gelding was racing intractably rounding the first turn, initially hanging-out and then hung-in so he was having difficulty getting it to stay on the back of KING BOBBIE and keep COWBOY CULTURE out three wide and as a result COWBOY CULTURE was able to obtain that position. His explanation was noted, although Stewards did advise him to ensure that he drives in a competitive manner at all times.
