RACE 1 – CHRISTMAS RACE NIGHT DEC 18 BOOK NOW PACE – 1720 metres

HOT CRUISE CONTROL – Pre-race blood sample. 

KATES VIRTUE – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ – Post-race swab sample.

STELLIA – Pre-race warm up.

CONSTANTINA – Hung in during the middle stages of the score up, was out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events. 

 

RACE 2 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

TIME TO DANCE NZ – Locked wheels passing the 200 metres with OBADIAH DRAGON NZ.

JILLIBY TOMCAT – Pre-race blood sample.

THE DEVILS FLAME – Post-race swab sample.

OBADIAH DRAGON NZ – Locked wheels momentarily with TIME TO DANCE NZ passing the 200 metres. 

JOANS RISING STAR NZ – Hung in and contacted the sulky of TIME TO DANCE NZ shortly after passing the 400 metres and broke gait for a short distance as a consequence.  A warning was placed on the record of JOANS RISING STAR NZ.  Trainer/driver Seaton Grima was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which was under pressure shortly after passing the 600 metres.  Mr Grima explained that in his opinion JOANS RISING STAR NZ failed to handle the tighter Penrith circuit and also may not have appreciated the quick back up from its most recent run at Newcastle on 21 November 2025 six days prior.  A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any significant findings.

 

RACE 3 – PEARCE WASTE MANAGEMENT PACE – 1720 metres

ED MENDES – Post-race swab sample.

IMA SHINKANSEN – Held up inside the final 200 metres.

DYNAMITES BEST – Pre-race blood sample. 

FORESIGHT – Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 4 – PENDLE INN HOTEL PACE – 1720 metres

A false start was declared to enable the pulling net to be removed from CASH AND BLING prior to the start being affected.

FAY IRENE – Driver Klayton Bigeni was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the mare in particular his decision to continue to pressure TISBURY ROCKS NZ for the lead during the early stages which contributed to the relatively fast first quarter of 27.8 seconds.  Mr Bigeni explained that he was instructed to lead if possible and added entering the first turn he noticed the leader TISBURY ROCKS NZ had paced roughly and felt that should he continue to apply pressure to that runner he may be able to secure the lead.  Mr Bigeni added shortly after passing the 1300 metres he desisted with the challenge and attempted to take cover however FAY IRENE over raced thereafter which he felt was a major contributing factor to the mare giving ground over the concluding stages to finish in 9th placing.  A post-race veterinary examination of FAY IRENE failed to reveal any significant findings. 

ZEN MASTER – Pre-race blood sample. 

CASH AND BLING – Hung in shortly after the start.  Post-race swab sample.

TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ – A post-race veterinary examination of TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ, which hung in and paced roughly at various stages, revealed the gelding to be lame in the left foreleg.  TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ will now be stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance is tendered.

 

RACE 5 – SECUREGUARD PACE – 1720 metres

MACH DA VINCI NZ – Over raced during the middle stages.  Post-race swab sample.

GIVE ME A MINUTE NZ – Held up inside the final 200 metres.

OUR UNCLE JIM – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.  Held up inside the final 200 metres.

PORT AU PRINCE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. 

ONE FOR THE RODI – Held up inside the final 200 metres.

 

RACE 6 – MAJOR OAK @ THE PACEWAY – BOOK NOW PACE – 1720 metres

MAGIC MATTEO – Driver Cameron Hart was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in sixth placing beaten 27 metres ($5.00).  Mr Hart explained MAGIC MATTEO was afforded a good run during the middle stages when leading and connections had expected a forward showing due to the favourable barrier draw (barrier 1).  Mr Hart added that MAGIC MATTEO in his opinion proved disappointing over the concluding stages however was unable to provide any further tangible reason for the performance.  A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any significant findings.

CROWN MOJO – Broke passing the 1400 metres resulting in LITTLE CESSNA being checked, pacing roughly and shifting inside the line of marker pegs to avoid CROWN MOJO.  A warning was paced on the record of CROWN MOJO.

LITTLE CESSNA – Checked passing the 1400 metres when CROWN MOJO broke gait and paced roughly as a consequence and shifted inside the line of marker pegs.

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

MAID OF MONEY NZ – Broke shortly after the start and suffered a gear malfunction resulting in the mare being retired from the event shortly thereafter.  A warning was placed on MAID OF MONEY NZ.  This gear was subsequently inspected and found to be of good quality.

 

RACE 7 – SKY RACING ACTIVE 2YO PACE – 1720 metres

BETWEEN DECKS – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 57 metres.  Given the performance the gelding will now be stood down from racing until trailing to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.

DOUBLE NEEDS – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 76 metres.  In view of the performance gelding will now be stood down from racing until trailing to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.

COCOS DESIRE – Post-race swab sample.

CALZAGHE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 8 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1720 metres

LADY BULLRIDGE – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 64 metres.  Given the performance the filly will now be stood down from racing until trailing to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.

ARTFUL DOLLAR – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 59 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any significant findings.  ARTFUL DOLLAR will now be stood down from racing until trailing to the satisfaction of Stewards.

GET US A TINNY – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 47 metres however noting the filly was inconvenienced somewhat passing the 500 metres when LADY BULLRIDGE and ARTFUL DOLLAR commenced to tire some leniency was extended and the filly will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.

JANELLE MAY – Broke during the score up and was out of position at the start and in view of the mare’s recent poor record will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

JOHNNY TANG – Post-race swab sample.

ZAYNES TIGER – Pre-race blood sample.
