RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

ROCKNROLL TONY – Pre-race blood sample.

BENJIMAGEE – Weakened inside the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

FRONTLINER – Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight and ran wide over the concluding stages. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 2 – MULTIQUIP COMMERCIAL HATCHERY PACE – 1609 metres

TRUTHBETOLD – Hung out during the score up then shifted out abruptly after the start. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing record. Hung out at various stages inside the 1000 metres.

SPOOKY ART – Pre-race blood sample. Had to be checked severely and broke stride shortly after the start when crowded between TRUTHBETOLD and WAITPINGA REACTOR which shifted in despite the efforts of its driver.

WAITPINGA REACTOR – Shifted in abruptly at the start Trainer/driver Mr B Loades was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Post-race swab sample.

ALTIANO – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted driver B Hughes explained, that when the pace was moderate entering the back straight on the first occasion he elected to drive forward from the tail of the field in an attempt to establish the position outside the lead.  He said that after racing to the outside of WAITPINGA REACTOR the driver of that runner placed his drive under pressure and drove forward which resulted in ALTIANO being unable to muster sufficient speed to cross and was obliged to race three wide. He said that after this he had noted for some distance that TRUTHBETOLD on his inside was racing greenly and he envisaged it weakening and him being able to assume a spot forward of it with cover. He said that when that did not eventuate ALTIANO was still travelling relatively well and at that stage of the race he felt it was detrimental to ease to obtain cover and allowed the gelding to stride freely. He said that when placed under pressure inside the 400 metres ALTIANO ran to the finish moderately.

RACE 3 – SAUERS GLASS TAMWORTH PACE – 1980 metres

CHARJO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

VERY NEEDY – Broke stride free of any external factors shortly after the start and galloped for a short distance. Trainer/driver D Mackney was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

HEY DUDE – Hampered for a short distance after the start when attempting to steady behind VERY NEEDY.

HEAVENLY TURBO – Raced in restricted room in the home straight.

MY ULTIMATE HUGO – Scratched at 1.56pm after a veterinary inspection at the start revealed the gelding was 3/5 lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer Mr T Ison was advised that the gelding would now be subject to a 14 day stand down period and prior to racing again must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness.

RACE 4 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres.

WHENS LUNCH – Pre-race blood sample.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

LIMOUSINE CHEEKY – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

ANNIE CROCKER – Disappointed when attempting to obtain a narrow run inside the 400 metres between DRAKAINA on its outside which hung in and shifted in despite the efforts of its driver and LIMOUSINE CHEEKY which was racing on the marker pegs. For some distance after this had to be checked and locked wheels momentarily near the 200 metres with DRAKAINA. Shortly after entering the home straight was shifted out abruptly in an attempt to obtain clear running and made heavy contact with DRAKAINA and was unbalanced for a short distance. Driver T Ison was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii) for shifting out without allowing sufficient room to prevent the heavy contact.

PEPPA BLISS – When questioned in relation to her driving Ms K Langelaar explained that she had been instructed to drive quietly in the early stages from its outside draw position then attempt to improve at some stage and obtain the position outside the lead. She said that after the start she maintained a wide position to allow the mare to race without being pressured because of its history of being intractable at the start of its races, then after rounding the turn after the start she allowed it to stride forward around the field. She said that after making gradual improvement she drove forward inside the 1000m as she was of the view that the driver of ADRENALINE RUSH was seeking cover and should she be able to cross it, that would be in accordance with her instruction, however despite driving with vigour she was unable to cross ADRENALINE RUSH and was continually obliged to race very wide. When questioned further regarding her restraining to a rearward position approaching the 600m, she stated that she felt that because of being extremely wide from the start, her drive would benefit from being eased at this point. Trainer Ms Panella confirmed the instruction, however when asked to clarify, she stated that she had not been specific in relation to when Ms Langelaar should attempt to improve and what option to take should the instruction be unachievable. She said that in her view Ms Langelaar had driven to instruction and despite the mare racing wide throughout it had performed well. Considering all the circumstances including Ms Langelaar’s inexperience she was told that her drive today lacked the initiative of someone having the responsibilities of a licensed driver and her reactions to changing circumstances must improve or she would be subject to sanction. Ms Panella was told that her level of instruction to someone of Ms Langelaar’s experience was unsatisfactory and when engaging drivers of limited experience, she must be specific in detailing pre-race plans including alternative options should they be required. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 5 – HAZELS FARM & FERTILIZER SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

DOUBLE LINES – Post-race swab sample.

SPARKLING SUE – A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

YOGI – Pre-race blood sample. When questioned in relation to the performance driver B Hughes explained, that it was his intention to lead as the gelding had displayed its best form when driven in this fashion. He said that he drove with vigour after the start, however when unbale to muster sufficient speed to cross and trapped very wide entering the back straight on the first occasion he was obliged to steady and obtain cover at the rear of the field. He stated that after this YOGI was unresponsive and despite his constant vigour the gelding would not improve. He further stated that in his opinion when unable to obtain the lead or race outside it, YOGI was reluctant to race generously. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

HEAVENLY SONG – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.

THUNDAMENTAL – Following required satisfactory performance connections were advised that the gelding would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 6 – FM99.5 LIVERPOOL PLAINS PACE – 1609 metres
