RACE 1 – TRAVLA NYE PACE – 1770 metres

General: The start of this event was aborted during the early stages of the score up when the mobile barrier lost power & acceleration. The mobile was retested and found to be fully operational.

GLAMORS SYMBOL – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Driver Jared Kahlefeldt was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the mare which yielded ground from the 500m to finish in 9th position & last position beaten 47.5m after racing behind the leader throughout. Mr Kahlefeldt advised the mare to be extremely disappointing & was at loss to explain the performance other than the mare displaying signs of being in season.

BOSS MAJOR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

THE LURKER – ($41.00) Trainer Danny Carroll was queried into the seemingly improved performance of the gelding in winning compared to its most recent starts. Mr Carroll advised the gelding was third (3) up from a spell which in its previous two (2) starts the gelding had suffered interference or was caught racing wider for an extended distance. Mr Carroll added the gelding was suited in not being used and urged forward at the start of its races and the final half was only recorded in a steady 61.6 seconds with a final quarter of 31.9 seconds.  Post-race swab.

Mr Locke advised the filly is racing much stronger opposition as SYNCOPATED SHUFFLE had only won two (2) maiden status events. Mr Locke added the stable would now look to give SYNCOPATED SHUFFLE a short let from racing prior to continuing with its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Ms Benett advised STRAWBERRY FLAME was having only its third (3) official race start this evening where in its prior two (2) starts the filly has suffered interference on both occasions and failed to take any competitive part in both starts. Ms Benett added STRAWBERRY FLAME had trialled well on all occasions prior commencing its racing career which the filly had shown ability. Ms Benett added STRAWBERRY FLAME was suited to the smaller field size in the event with multiple runners suffering interference and final half only recorded in 61.3 seconds. Post-race swab.

BELLE ALCHERA – Broke gait during the latter stages of the score up at the first attempt checking runners on the second row resulting in a false start being declared. BELLE ALCHERA will now be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events. In taking this action Stewards were mindful the filly was only placed back in the draw two (2) starts prior.
