RACE 1 – BETTA PARKES PACE – 2040 metres
CARIBBEAN PAT – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 57.1 metres. Rounding the final turn jumped a marker peg and raced roughly.
WESTERN BILL – Driver Paula Sapio was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having had in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – PARKES FORD KIA LADYSHIP PACE – 1660 metres
DIAMOND BIKINI – Stewards delayed all clear to determine whether DIAMOND BIKINI had gained an unfair advantage passing the 400 metres when attempting a run to the inside of ESTHER RISING and whether DIAMOND BIKINI had raced inside the line of marker pegs. After reviewing the footage and taking evidence from Driver Jorja Rusten, it was determined passing the 400 metres when progressing to the inside of ESTHER RISING, DIAMOND BIKINI had established a run and shortly after when approaching the turn ESTHER RISING commenced to shift down the track placing DIAMOND BIKINI into restricted room causing that mare to be tightened and race over marker pegs. After giving consideration, due to the fact DIAMOND BIKINI had established a run to the inside of ESTHER RISING before contact was made to marker pegs, Stewards gave the all clear on 1 – 3 – 2 – 7. Trainer Darryle Rusten was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the mare. Mr Rusten explained the mare had been racing without luck at its previous 3 starts and had been working well, tonight the mare was afforded an economical trip 3 back on the marker pegs without having to go around another runner all contributed.
SHES NO HONEY – Checked passing the 400 metres when held up behind ESTHER RISING. Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.
GET UP BETTY – Inconvenienced as a result of JACKYS HAT breaking gait at the 1400 metres. Driver Jett Turnbull was cautioned for the manner in which he used his whip over the concluding stages.
JACKYS HAT – Passing the 1400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued.
ESTHER RISING – In the back straight on the final occasion had a tendency to hang out despite the efforts of Driver Blake Micallef. When approaching the 350 metres and rounding the final turn ESTHER RISING commenced to shift down the track which placed DIAMOND BIKINI into restricted room. A warning was placed on ESTHER RISING due to its racing manners.
SHEZ A PUNTER – Checked passing the 1400 metres as a result of JACKYS HAT breaking gait.

ART OF REASON – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned in regard to his driving tactics and the overall performance of the gelding, after settling in a position in the running line Mr Turnbull elected to move three wide passing the 1200 metres before realising the position outside the leader wasn’t available and as a result was obliged to race in a three wide position for the remainder of the event resulting in ART OF TERROR giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 52.2 metres. Mr Turnbull explained that the pace in the event had eased and he thought he may have been able to work forward and find a position outside the leader, however was unable to do so and was obliged to race three wide for the remainder of the event which contributed to the overall disappointing run.
STUDLEIGH MELISE – Rounding the final turn was tightened and contacted marker pegs as a result of ART OF TERROR hanging in slightly.
BABY YOUR THE ONE – Pre-race blood sample.
BUDDY BRILLIANCE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery.
