Mr Osmond advised after drawing outside the second row CORTEZ was unable to improve into the event at any stage without improving such a distance from the finish without cover and the gelding is better suited when able to lead in its races. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding displaying a delayed recovery.

A warning was issued against GLAMOUR FOX racing competitiveness. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
