RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1760 metres

SECRET LINE – ($3.20) Driver Peter McRae was queried into the overall performance of the gelding finished in 9th position beaten 22.7m after racing outside the leader throughout. Mr McRae advised the gelding to be disappointing and contributed the gelding being first up since May 2025 and was not suited racing without cover during the event as SECRET LINE would derive benefit from the performance. Mr McRae added the stable would undertake gear alteration upon SECRET LINE as the gelding appeared to race greenly at various stages of the event. A Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding displaying a delayed recovery.

TATTS REASON – ($5.50) Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was queried into the tactics adopted upon the mare in particular his decision to maintain the position outside the leader throughout the event when challenged by FRENCH STREET during the early & middle stages of the event and if he gave consideration to surrender the position to FRENCH STREET. Prior to finishing in 8th position beaten 43.1m. Mr Painting advised it was his intentions to improve forward from the start &, if possible, to find the lead as TATTS REASON is one paced and best driven when able to set even sections and races more genuine as he was confident of forward performance from TATTS REASON. Mr Painting explained he did not give consideration to surrendering the position to FRENCH STREET as he felt it was his main danger in the event and wanted to keep in advance of that runner. Mr Painting added he attempted to urge TATTS REASON forward to obtain the lead from BIG COOL however TATTS REASON was relucted to improve forward & pass the leader BIG COOL despite Mr Painting efforts. Mr Painting explained TATTS REASON raced inconsistent throughout the event & once FRENCH STREET improved quickly and crossed both runners passing the 800m TATTS REASON dropped the bit until passing the 700m when ELLENS DELIGHT improved to his outside where TATTS REASON recommenced to race in a more competitive manners until that runner was able to progress past TATTS REASON passing the 600m where the mare gave ground. Mr Painting added TATTS REASON had performed in a similar manner in previous starts under its prior trainer Mrs Helen Scott. Mr Painting added he would now reconsider the racing future of TATTS REASON within his stable going forward. After viewing the available replays which verify the comments of Mr Painting in the racing manners of TATTS REASON however Stewards advised Mr Painting that he had erred with his tactics in particular his efforts in unsuccessfully challenging for the lead with the use made of TATTS REASON and withstanding the challenge from FRENCH STREET and his drive lacked judgement however not to the required standards a charge under AHR 149 could be sustained. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
