RACE 1 – CORDINA FOOD CO PACE – 1609 metres
OUTSIDE FIGHTER – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.
TUKAHA – Driver J Rattray was found guilty of a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that after entering the home straight he has allowed TUKAHA to shift wider on the track whilst not being sufficiently clear of LIGHT ME UP NZ and as a result has improved inside that runners line and contacted that runners legs resulting in LIGHT ME UP NZ being checked and galloped. Driver J Rattray had his licence suspended to drive in races for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 24 January 2026. In assessing penalty Stewards considered Mr Rattray’s not guilty plea, overall offence record and the circumstances of this incident.
MIKI COHEN NZ – Galloped out at the start for which a warning was issued. Improved 3 wide from the 1100 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 900 metres.
ERUPT STRIDE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Driver S Hewitt was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum time sectionals when recording the second quarter in 33.6 seconds which is 1.6 seconds over the allowable minimum time standards. Post-race swab sample.
LIGHT ME UP NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Engaged in a jostle for position shortly after entering the home straight and approaching the 100 metres was checked and galloped when TUKAHA has shifted up the track without the required clearance and contacted that runner’s legs.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
CHARLIES ACE NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
DESTINY STRIDE – Pre-race blood sample.
GOODTIME LIBBY – Worked forward to obtain the lead approaching the 1000 metres. Over raced when positioned behind the leader.
CLASSICE ELEGANCE NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead approaching the 800 metres. Post-race swab sample.
MISSAUDACIOUS -Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 3 – AGNES BANKS EQUINE CLINIC PACE – 1609 metres
VINKE B NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
SET UP – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg and has a result of the veterinary findings, SET UP was stood down until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted.
BARTELLO – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1250 metres.
OOGA CHAKA – Trainer K Pizzuto was fined $100 under Rule 210 for failing to declare A Delosa as the driver by the prescribed time. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 4 – SUCCESS STUD EQUINE BREEDING PACE – 1609 metres
MCWIZARD – Pre-race blood sample.
HUGO MAGUIRE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1150 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 5 – FOR A REASON STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 2300 metres
PETES SAID SO NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
UBETCHA TIGERPIE – Pre-race blood sample. Driver M Stanley was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that in the home straight on the final occasion he has applied his whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion on a number of occasions.
SWAYZEE – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE BERT ALLEY NEW YEARS GIFT FINAL – 1609 metres
STILL ROLLIN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
TIGER PRINCE – Pre-race blood sample.
CAPTAINS MISTRESS NZ – Post-race swab sample.
WHILEMENA RITA – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
RACE 7 – AINSWORTH THREE YEAR OLD PACE – 1609 metres
CALZAGHE NZ – Galloped shortly after the start for which a warning was issued.
BLAZING HIGH – Post-race swab sample.
BENJAMIN – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 8 – ULTRA AIR TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres
SUNNY GEE – Worked forward to obtain the lead leaving the 1200 metres.
EL RESAMO – Pre-race blood sample. Became unbalanced and galloped in the score up for which the gelding was issued its last chance in the mobile draw.
CONSTANTINOPLE – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sample.
