RACE 1 – BARASTOC PACE – 2030 metres

MISTER POVERTY – Pre-race sample.

DONTLETFEARSTOPYA – Post-race sample.

TWO CRACKED CORN – ($7.50/ beaten 74.7m/ 10th position) Over-raced during the early and middle stages when racing outside of the leader. Driver J Coney reported that the mare contacted its own sulky wheels resulting in TWO CRACKED CORN over-racing and being unable to settle, despite his efforts. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. In assessing the performance of TWO CRACKED CORN connections were advised that the mare must complete one satisfactory trial prior to racing again.

ROYAL GAMBLE NZ – Sulky contacted by LOUIE DADA at the 1800m, when that runner commenced to over-race and the pace eased in the two wide line.

LOUIE DADA – Over-raced during the early stages and contacted the sulky of ROYAL GAMBLE NZ at the 1800m, when the pace eased in the two wide line.

ROCK AM ALYESKA – Contacted a marker peg rounding the final turn.

CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.

 

RACE 2 – TOOHEYS WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

SWEET ROCKY – Post-race sample.

NEEDY AN GREEDY – Pre-race sample. Inconvenienced at the 900m when the speed decreased in the two wide line. Contacted the sulky of WATSLUVGOTTADO, resulting in NEEDY AN GREEDY pacing roughly. NEEDY AN GREEDY then commenced to hang out, despite the efforts of Driver R Morris. Connections were advised that NEEDY AN GREEDY would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

WATSLUVGOTTADO – Sulky contacted by NEEDY AND GREEDY at the 900m, when the pace eased in the two wide line. Carried a flat tyre for the remainder of the race.

SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS – Slow to leave the pre-race circle when called to face the mobile barrier.

 

RACE 3 – GOBAL BRANDS LIQUOR PACE – 2030 metres

General – The start of this race was delayed owing to Sandown Thoroughbreds Race 7 running behind schedule.

LOETA – Was excluded from the mobile barrier draw following the release of acceptances. Started from barrier 8 as a result. Pre-race sample. Out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Inconvenienced at the 1800m when PORT AU PRINCE NZ galloped.

TWO TICKS NZ – Inconvenienced at the 1800m when the speed of the race decreased along the peg line. Sulky contacted in this incident when PORT AU PRINCE NZ which was trailing raced up onto and made contact, resulting in PORT AU PRINCE NZ galloping.

UPSTREAM – Inconvenienced at the 1800m when the speed of the race decreased along the peg line.

MILLI ME – Post-race sample.

MCCRIKEY NZ – Inconvenienced at the 1800m when the speed of the race decreased along the peg line.

AWHOLELOTOFPRETTY – Checked and paced roughly at the 1800m, when PORT AU PRINCE NZ, which was racing in advance, galloped.

PORT AU PRINCE NZ – Contacted the sulky of TWO TICKS NZ at the 1800m and galloped when the speed on the peg line decreased.

YESNOMAYBESO – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Inconvenienced at the 1800m when the speed of the race decreased along the peg line.

 

RACE 4 – SOMERSET MEATS 3YO PACE – 1609 metres

General – The start of this race was delayed owing to Sandown Thoroughbreds Race 8 running behind schedule.

SUPERIOR LUKE – Raced greenly after the start before giving ground to be beaten 75m. In assessing that the gelding was having its first race start and the overall mile rate being 1:52.4. A warning was issued against the racing manners of SUPERIOR LUKE.

FAKE FRIENDS – Pre-race sample.

SHOWMETHETANLINES NZ – Post-race sample. Driver B McDonough was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have his drive in position at the start.

 

RACE 5 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

ASHLEYS BLUE CHIP – Checked and locked wheels with LOYALIST NZ for a short distance approaching the 200m.

SAINT CRUSADER – Post-race sample.

LOYALIST NZ – Pre-race sample. Checked and locked wheels with ASHLEYS BLUE CHIP for a short distance approaching the 200m. 

 

RACE 6 – THE TAB SUPER MAIDEN – 1609 metres

TORA – Raced greenly shortly after the start and began to hang out. Approaching the 1000m continued to hang out and eventually shifted wider in the two wide line. Over-raced during the early and middle stages when racing along the marker peg line.

RONNYS WATCHING – Pre-race sample.

SLICK AND SUAVE – Over-raced approaching the 1000m when racing along the marker pegs. Raced in close proximity to STAY STRONG, which was racing in advance. This resulted in SLICK AND SUAVE being inconvenienced momentarily.  

MIKI MOO – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 7 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres

DE LA RENTA NZ – Tired to be beaten 85m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised that DE LA RENTA NZ would be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

OUR ART CHRISTIAN NZ – Jostled for a position with BE GOOD BENNY racing down the back straight on the final occasion.

EIFFEL FROM HEAVEN – Inconvenienced leaving the back straight on the final occasion when caught behind the weakening DE LA RENTA NZ.

BREXITT – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding

being 12 years of age. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.

BE GOOD BENNY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Pre-race sample. Jostled for a position with OUR ART CHRISTIAN NZ racing down the back straight on the final occasion.

SPIRIT KING – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 8 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

ROCKNROLL RAMBO – Held up over the latter stages of the home straight and unable to be fully tested close to the finish line.

BARRYS ROSE – Driver C Formosa was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(i) for failing to have her runner in position at the candy pole in the score up. Post-race sample.

REASONABLY SWEET – Pre-race sample.
