RACE 1 – JAZZ BAND RETURNS @ CLUB PACEWAY FEB 1 PACE – 1720 metres

MADAZALWAYS – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

FLO RYDA NZ – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1350 metres.

CROWN MOJO – Over raced throughout the event.

CERISE RAINBOW – Pre-race blood sample.  Improved three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 2 – AUSSIE NIGHT MARKETS FEB 8 PACE – 2125 metres

GREY CADILLAC – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1600 metres. 

RUEBE STARBUCK NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

HOMEBOUND – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

THREEBUSHELSOFOATS – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1800 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

LIMOUSINE CHEEKY – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 3 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2125 metres

OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ – Pre-race blood sample. 

HOT CRUISE CONTROL – Stewards questioned trainer/driver B Portelli in relation to the performance of the gelding and its overall racing manners.  Mr Portelli explained that the gelding begun well in the early stages and was able to get the gelding to settle approaching the 1800 metres however when challenged by OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ between the 1800 and 1600 metres the gelding commenced to over race and as a result failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 36.8 metres and finished in eighth position.  Mr Portelli explained that considering the gelding’s racing manners he was satisfied with the performance of HOT CRUISE CONTROL.  In view of the gelding’s racing manners and overall performance a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

RAYS REDEMPTION – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1800 metres.

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

FIRST STRING – Stewards questioned driver J Callaghan in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 58.2 metres and finished in last position.  Mr Callaghan explained that the gelding had trialled okay leading into the event and stated that being first up since 5 September 2025, that the quick tempo of the event did not suit the gelding.  Mr Callaghan added that the gelding will now be sent to campaign in Queensland.  In view of the gelding’s disappointing performance a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 4 – PENRITH THURSDAY MARKETS PACE – 1720 metres

SMOKESCREEN – Pre-race blood sample.  Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

HEAVENLY REASON – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

IMXTRASPECIAL – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

OUR UNCLE JIM – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 5 – MONSTER TRUCKS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND FEB 21 PACE – 1720 metres

IDEAL MARQUESS – Post-race swab sample.

WHATABOYJACK – Pre-race blood sample.  Galloped out at the start for which a warning was issued.

DOUBLE FEAR – Had its off side sulky wheel contacted passing the 1100 metres before being retired passing the 950 metres. 

THE METAL FLYER – Contacted the sulky wheel of DOUBLE FEAR passing the 1100 metres when that runner was being eased forward of THE METAL FLYER.  Hung in and contacted a number of marker pegs rounding the final turn.

PARADISE POINT – Hampered after the start when avoiding the galloping WHATABOYJACK.  Improved three wide from the 1400 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1150 metres.  Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 36 metres and finished in ninth position.  Stewards questioned driver J Coney in relation to the performance of the horse.  Mr Coney explained that leaving the 1400 metres when he elected to improve the tempo of the event quickened and as a result due to the work done during the middle stages the horse failed to run on over the concluding stages.  Stewards noted his comments.

 

RACE 6 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

SIR KNIGHT – Post-race swab sample.

THE POSTMASTER – Hampered between the 300 and 200 metres behind the weakening THE COUNTY SHERIFF.

IMA SHINKANSEN – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.  Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

PLAY SOUTHERNLAND – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1500 metres.

 

RACE 7 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 1720 metres

THATS WICKED – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

GARRYS LARRY – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres. 

GO TESS GO – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.

BELLAMYS BLAST – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tai of the field passing the 1400 metres.

 

RACE 8 – MAJOR OAK THEATRE RESTAURANT BOOK NOW PACE – 1720 metres

LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Pre-race blood sample.  Presented on course approximately four hours prior to its event in accordance with the HRNSW Elevated TCO2 policy. 

DANCING WITH MY EX – Pre-race blood sample.  Stepped out of both front hopples after the start and approaching the first turn and as a result became unbalanced and galloped for which no direct action was taken.  Stewards inspected the gear and found it to be of suitable quality. 

REIGN MAKER – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

LYNNSANITY – Post-race swab sample.
