RACE 1 – TOP WATER CARTERS CROOKWELL PACE – 1710 metres
MILLYANO
– Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 7th position, beaten 41 metres. Given the overall time of the event and the mile rate of 1:56.7, Stewards determined that no action would be taken against the mare.

ANGELIC ATTITUDE – Contacted the mobile barrier, resulting in the mare breaking gait and causing a false start. A warning was issued. Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 10th position, beaten 57 metres. In consideration of the overall time and mile rate of 1:56.7, no action was taken against the mare.

RAINBOWSEND – Pre‑race blood sample obtained. Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 9th position, beaten 57 metres. Given the overall time and mile rate of 1:56.7, Stewards determined that no action was warranted against the mare.

THE BANKER NZ – Caught wide in the early stages before improving three wide during the middle stages.

GO COLOUR MY WORLD NZ – Post‑race swab sample was obtained.

GOODTIME MIKI – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward. Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 8th position, beaten 56 metres. Given the overall time and mile rate of 1:56.7, no action was taken against the gelding.

BENTLY BULLET – Approaching the 400 metres, was inconvenienced when MILLYANO gave ground.

RACE 2 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS CROOKWELL GOULBURN TROTTERS CUP – 2240 metres.

OUR MARVELLA NZ – Pre‑race blood sample was obtained. Hung out over the concluding stages of the event. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

JUNGLE EYES – Post‑race swab sample was obtained.

MAXIMUS MERIDIUS – Underwent a pre‑ and post‑race veterinary examination as the gelding was resuming from an extended spell, having not started for over a year. These examinations did not reveal any significant findings. Over‑raced throughout the middle stages of the event.

TOP OF THE MOMENT NZ – Broke gait approaching the 400 metres, a warning was issued.

YOUR MAJESTY – Out of position at the start. In view of the mare’s recent record, she will continue to be placed outside the mobile draw. Approaching the 400 metres, was checked and broke gait as a result of TOP OF THE MOMENT NZ breaking gait.

RACE 3 LUKE OBRIEN ELECTRICAL 3YO PACE 1710 metres
EYES OFF TIGER – Pre‑race blood sample was obtained. Stewards questioned Driver Robert Morris regarding the gelding’s performance when it tired over the concluding stages to finish in last position, beaten 102 metres. Mr Morris explained that in his view the gelding was racing out of its grade against runners that had been competing in significantly stronger company, and as such was not entirely suited to the class of this event. A post‑race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the gelding’s performance, a warning was issued.

FRIZZA – Driver Anthony Frisby was spoken to regarding a delay to the start. Mr Frisby explained that he observed the gelding’s near‑side ear plug dislodged while being assisted by the Clerk of the Course, and when the near‑side plug was replaced, the off‑side plug inadvertently released as the starter had signalled for the score up to commence. Stewards accepted Mr Frisby’s explanation. The colt shifted out under pressure inside the final 100 metres. A post‑race swab sample was obtained.

RACE 4 DENNY & PAUL ANDERSON SUPER MAIDEN 1710 metres

STAY STRONG – Pre‑race blood sample was obtained.

TAMDOCK – Hung out after the start, resulting in the mare making contact with NAVIE JO’s sulky and subsequently breaking gait. Continued to hang out throughout the event. Given it was the mare’s first race start, connections were advised that TAMDOCK will now be placed outside the mobile draw.

NAVIE JO – Shortly after the start, the mare’s sulky was contacted as a result of TAMDOCK hanging out. Approaching the 400 metres, momentarily locked wheels with TEDDY ZING, which had hung in at that stage.

RAREPINKDIAMOND – Approaching the 400 metres, locked wheels for a sustained distance as a result of TEDDY ZING hanging out. This contributed to the mare being beaten by a margin of 84 metres.

EMPEROR – Post‑race swab sample was obtained.

TEDDY ZING – Approaching the 400 metres, hung in, momentarily locking wheels with NAVIE JO. Shortly thereafter, the gelding hung out and locked wheels with RAREPINKDIAMOND for a sustained distance. This contributed to the gelding being beaten by a margin of 85 metres.

RACE 5 THE TAB APP WARATAH HEAT 1710 metres

HIGHLANDS WARRIOR – Pre‑race blood sample was obtained.

LEXYS ON SONG – Post‑race swab sample was obtained.

FRESH PRINCE – Broke in the score‑up. A warning was issued. Stewards questioned Driver George Lee regarding the gelding’s performance when it tired over the concluding stages to finish in 8th position, beaten 51 metres. Mr Lee explained that the gelding had travelled well in the early stages, however when he attempted to ease it wider, the gelding failed to respond and tired markedly, and the only explanation he could offer was a lack of race fitness with the gelding having not started in almost a month. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

ETERNAL GOLD – Approaching the 800 metres, was checked and broke gait when SNAKE OIL broke gait ahead of it.

SNAKE OIL – Entering the home straight on the final occasion, the gelding raced roughly, and then approaching the 700 metres broke gait. Given it was only the gelding’s third race start, connections were advised that SNAKE OIL is stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

JAKOB – Over-raced during the middle stages when positioned outside the leader.

RACE 6 GOULBURN SOLDIERS CLUB TOM & ANGELA HEWITT MEMORIAL 2240 metres
ANGUS FINN NZ – Pre‑race blood sample was obtained. Inside the final 200 metres, the gelding was inconvenienced when REFUSAL shifted in.

REFUSAL – Driver Will Rixon was reprimanded under AHR Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for permitting his runner to shift in inside the final 200 metres, which subsequently tightened ANGUS FINN NZ momentarily.

SIREN SEA – Driver David Hewitt was reprimanded under AHR Rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that approaching the 800 metres he permitted SIREN SEA to shift out resulting in MIKI BE GOOD being forced four wide thereafter. In not taking more severe action against Mr Hewitt Stewards were mindful that at the point he commenced to direct SIREN SEA wider he was sufficiently clear of MIKI BE GOOD. Stewards further considered that MIKI BE GOOD over-racing contributed to the incident by the horse not being able to be restrained to follow SIREN SEA when that runner commenced to shift wider.

MIKI BE GOOD – Forced wider at the 800 metres as a result of SIREN SEA shifting ground. The gelding was also over‑racing at the time of the incident.

PRECISE NZ – Post‑race blood sample was obtained.
