RACE 1 – AGNES BANKS EQUINE VET TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

KENNYS SON – Over raced during the middle stages before hanging out against the efforts of its driver passing the 1000 metres and again at the 500 metres before commencing to give ground thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination of KENNYS SON failed to reveal any significant findings. Connections were advised KENNYS SON would now be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

DEEP LOVE NZ – Held up during the early part of the straight.

PRINCESS DU FER – Pre-race blood sample.

AFFAIRE DE COVER – Post-race swab sample. Driver Robert Morris was fined $200 under Rule 170(1)(a) in that he completed the preliminary without either foot positioned in the foot rest and with his legs positioned outside of the sulky confines.

 

RACE 2 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres

HE IS GOLD CLASS – Pre-race blood sample.

MATTEO – Hung out approaching the 1400 metres.

CAPITALISM – Post-race swab sample.

TRISTAR FOR CHRIS – Broke during the score up and a warning was issued.

 

RACE 3 – CORDINSA CHICKEN FARMS PACE – 1609 metres

WHAT FOR – Contacted marker pegs approaching the 300 metres.

KING COREY – Post-race swab sample.

GIVEMEFIVEMINUTESMORE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

PARALLEL – Held up during the early part of the straight.

 

RACE 4 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres

WATERMAIN LADY – Pre-race blood sample.

OAKIE SMOKESHOW – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

WESTERN STYLE – Held up inside the final 200 metres and as a consequence was not fully tested.

OUR UNCLE JIM – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races. These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

MIKI COHEN NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 6 – SKY RACING PACE – 1609 metres

UNCHAINMYART – Pre-race blood sample. Broke shortly after the start. A warning was issued. Hung in and paced roughly rounding the final turn and was held up during the early part of the straight for a brief distance.

THERES WALLY – Post-race swab sample.

FOXFIRE EASTON NZ – Trainer/Driver Brad Hewitt was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 7^th placing beaten 22 metres ($3.50). Mr Hewitt explained it was his intention to drive the gelding with cover, however due to a combination of FOXFIRE EASTON NZ over racing during the early stages and the slow early speed he allowed the gelding to progress forward to obtain the position outside the leader. Mr Hewitt added upon securing this position the speed of the event remained constant which ultimately told on FOXFIRE EASTON NZ over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 7 – PRYDE’S EXCEPTIONAL VALUE ALWAYS PACE – 1609 metres

TISBURY ROCKS NZ – Held up during the early part of the straight and until approaching the 100 metres.

WAHAKA – Post-race swab sample.

MOVESLIKEALADY – Pre-race blood sample. Reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.
