RACE 1 – FISHO’S RAFFLES RETURNS FEB 6 PACE – 1720 metres

FLO RYDA NZ – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

PETES BIG JIM – Stewards questioned driver S Piltz in relation to his driving tactics and the overall performance of the gelding after working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres and after having a short challenge for the lead remained in the position outside of the leader before increasing the tempo from the 600 metres and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten 11.5 metres and finished in eighth position.  Mr Piltz explained he was instructed to drive the gelding forward during the early stages of the event and after beginning well he worked forward and obtained the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.  Mr Piltz explained that from this point he was able to obtain some respite when the second quarter was recorded in 30.3 seconds and explained that approaching the 600 metres the gelding was travelling well and elected to increase the tempo.  Mr Piltz explained that the gelding was racing down in grade to what it had at its most recent starts.   Mr Piltz added that the gelding felt strong up until the 150 metres when commencing to give ground slightly to the leader and was happy with the overall performance of the gelding.  Stewards advised Mr Piltz that in their opinion he had erred by increasing the tempo from the 600 metres and in their opinion, considering the early work the gelding had done in the early stages, it may have been more beneficial to wait until leaving the 400 metres.

RIO DE JANERIO BLUE NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

RACE 2 – CONGRATS SEAN K ON 25 YEARS OF SERVICE PACE – 2125 metres

ROGERVALERIO LOMBO – Hung in and contacted a number of marker pegs rounding the home turn on the final occasion.

REIGN MAKER – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

MADAZALWAYS – Pre-race blood sample.  Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1600 metres.  Checked behind the weakening GREY CADILLAC between the 500 metres and the 350 metres.

GREY CADILLAC – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.  Commenced to give ground from the 500 metres to be beaten 49.8 metres and finished in last position.

AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Hung in during the score up and was out of position at the start for which gelding will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2125 metres

CERISE RAINBOW – Post-race swab sample.

ROCKNROLL GIG – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 4 – AUSSIE NIGHT MARKETS FEB 8 PACE – 1720 metres

SMOKESCREEN – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up for which a warning was issued.  Post-race swab sample.

I BET YOU – Pre-race blood sample. 

WHATABOYJACK – A pre-race veterinary examination was conducted due to trainer P Rixon reporting to Stewards that the gelding had been sweating up in the paddock prior to travel today due to the high temperatures in his area.  No abnormalities were detected and the gelding was passed fit to take its place in the event. 

ONE FOR THE RODI – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 5 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2125 metres

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre & post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

MISTER MANAGER – Trainer G Ellul was fined $50 under rule 210 for failing to declare S Grima as the driver by the prescribed time.

JALANEEL – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1650 metres.

ROYAL DIVISION – Pre-race blood sample.  Driver W Rixon was fined $100 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position prior to the start.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed ulcer in the right eye from abrasions from the track surface during the event.  No stand down was required acting on veterinary recommendations.

RACE 6 – CONGRATS SAMARA S ON 10 YEARS OF SERVICE PACE – 2125 metres

TOMMYS LUCK – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres. 

IMA SHINKANSEN – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1800 metres.

TIGER EUPHEME – Post-race swab sample.

NEED FOR SPEED – Improved three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 metres.

THE POSTMASTER – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1400 metres.

 

RACE 7 – MONSTER TRUCKS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND FEB 21 3YO PACE – 1720 metres

KELLYS COLOURS – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

CAPTAINS DELIGHT – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres.

BELLAMYS BLAST – Pre-race blood sample. 

MICKEYS RUN – Improved three wide from the 1350 metres and was required to race without cover for the remainder of the event.

 

RACE 8 – MAJOR OAK THEATRE RESTAURANT BOOK NOW PACE – 2125 metres

CARIBBEAN RUNER – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Pre-race blood sample.  Presented on course four hours prior to its event in line with the HRNSW Elevated TCO2 policy.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1900 metres.  Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

KINGSTON RAINBOW – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

JAKCAM FLYER – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1600 metres.
