RACE 1 – AUSSIE NIGHT MARKETS SUNDAY MARCH 8 PACE – 1720 metres
DALLAS DALE NZ – Trainer/driver Seaton Grima was questioned about the seemingly improved performance of the gelding in comparison to its most recent starts (7th – Globe Derby 02/02/2026 & 7th – Bathurst 25/02/2026) when in today’s event DALLAS DALE NZ was beaten a half head in a fast mile rate of 1:53:2. Mr Grima explained DALLAS DALE NZ was only having its second start for his stable and had disappointed at its first start at Bathurst on 25 February 2026 which he attributed to DALLAS DALE NZ not having started for some time. Mr Grima further added that following discussions with connections post-race he had formed the view that DALLAS DALE NZ would be better suited to races over the shorter distance and not being restrained where possible as the gelding would race in a more genuine manner being driven in this fashion. Mr Grima added that when able to lead in tonight’s event he allowed DALLAS DALE NZ to continue to record relatively fast and even sectionals which he felt the gelding appreciated and further added that DALLAS DALE NZ had also derived some benefit from its most recent start at Bathurst on 25 February 2026. Mr Grima further explained he was somewhat surprised with the performance particularly given the fast mile rate of 1:53:2 which was recorded. Post-race blood samples were taken from DALLAS DALE NZ approximately three hours post-race.
GIVE ME A MINUTE NZ – Declared a late scratching at 5.35pm when the horse failed to arrive on course by the required time.

KATES VIRTUE – Pre-race blood sample.
GO WITHOUT – Driver Jack Callaghan was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 10th placing beaten 41 metres. Mr Callaghan explained that the combination of GO WITHOUT being caught without cover during the early stages to occupy the position outside of the leader combined with the fast speed throughout told on GO WITHOUT over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of GO WITHOUT revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Given the veterinary findings GO WITHOUT will now be stood down from racing for a period of seven days and until a veterinary clearance is tendered.
NOSAER – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – JOHN VELLA MEMORIAL – 2125 metres
GARRYS LARRY – Driver Allan Forrest explained he sustained a flat inside tyre passing the 1200 metres and as a consequence GARRYS LARRY was placed at a significant disadvantage thereafter which resulted in the horse tiring over the concluding stages.
TORA – Inconvenienced rounding the final turn when held up behind IMA SHINKANSEN.
TRISTAR FOR CHRIS – Pre-race blood sample.
GREY CADILLAC – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races. These examinations did not reveal any significant findings. Post-race swab sample.

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
IDEAL MARQUESS – Driver Cameron Fitzpatrick was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 200 metres he permitted IDEAL MARQUESS to shift in resulting in MR TEDDY NZ being checked and pacing roughly and ROCLEA IMAGE which was following being checked. In not taking more severe action against Mr Fitzpatrick, Stewards were mindful that the racing manners of IDEAL MARQUESS had contributed significantly to this incident and accordingly placed a warning on the gelding’s record. Hung out under pressure inside the final 200 metres.
ROCLEA IMAGE – Checked passing the 200 metres when MR TEDDY NZ was checked and paced roughly.
ITZMINEONTHELINE – Over raced during the middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of IDEAL AGENDA failed to reveal any significant findings. Mr Grima was subsequently advised that IDEAL AGENDA would be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.
