RACE 6 – MEDOWIE LODGE PACE – 1740 metres

OUR ROCKY – Pre-race swab sampled.

KYLEIGH – Post-race swab sampled.

MIKI LOCH – Raced roughly rounding the turn leaving the 400 metres, for which a warning was issued. Driver A Diebert was queried regarding the below market expectations performance of the gelding, she stated it travelled well until rounding the home turn, where she released its deafeners and it raced roughly, losing momentum. She added that it did get going again somewhat in the home straight but was too far back at that point to be able to get into a competitive position at the finish. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

JAKOB – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-in after the start.

IM ALRITE – Driver G Lee was questioned regarding his tactics adopted with the gelding in particular in the home straight where it appeared there was an opportunity to shift wider upon entering the home straight, however he remained behind ASTRAL STRIDE resulting in his runner not obtaining clear running until near the 50 metres. G Lee stated that the gelding did not get around the home turn all that well and upon entering the home straight he felt MIKI LOCH was positioned to his outside in a position where if he had of shifted wider, he would have caused interference to that runner. He added that at that point he wasn’t hard on the back of ASTRAL STRIDE so continued to drive forward until he improved up on to its back near the 50 metres and was then clear of MIKI LOCH so could come wider into clear running without causing interference. His comments were noted.

RACE 7 – NUTRIEN EQUINE STANDARDBRED SYDNEY SALE THIS SUNDAY PACE – 1740 metres

CORTEZ – Pre-race swab sampled.

WAVES OF CHANCE – Post-race swab sampled.

SARA TA SLOY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

KIMCANDO – Hung-in rounding the first turn.

TIZZY LIZZIE – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

RACE 8 – YIRRIBEE STUD PACE – 1740 metres

CARLO GAMBINO NZ – Examined by the Club Veterinarian pre and post-race, as it is 12 years old, and cleared of any significant abnormalities. Pre-race swab sampled.

ISLA ROCHELLE – Trainer/Driver B Hewitt was queried regarding the below market expectations performance of the mare, he stated that the race really wasn’t run to suit as she is best saved for a final sprint but after getting shuffled back felt he may be able to get to the death seat down the back straight after commencing a three wide run however MESSERATI stuck on better than he anticipated. He added that then left him three wide rounding the home turn and that proved too hard a task with the times being run in this class of race.

MISSAUDACIOUS – Post-race swab sampled.
