RACE 1 – TWOMEYS ACCOUNTANTS & ADVISORY PACE – 1770 metres

GLENBURNS WATERS – Broke during the score up, was out of position at the start and a warning was issued.  Hung in and contacted marker pegs passing the 1000 metres and again hung in rounding the final turn.  A warning was subsequently placed on the record of the mare.

KELLOSHIEL – Driver Scott Osmond was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which finished in 10th and last placing beaten 61 metres ($3.80 fav).  Mr Osmond explained that KELLOSHIEL commenced to over race during the middle stages which told on the mare over the concluding stages.  Upon consideration of the circumstances, Stewards placed KELLOSHIEL on its last chance to race truly.  A post-race veterinary examination of the KELLOSHIEL failed to reveal any significant findings.

MILLIE FRANCIS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

UNCLE CRAIGO – Post-race swab sample.

OAK RIDGE – Driver James Locke was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that approaching the 600 metres he permitted OAK RIDGE to shift out momentarily inconveniencing PAD THAI.

MICTON MOUSE – Over raced during the middle stages and contacted its sulky with its hind legs when positioned outside the leader.

 

RACE 2 – CANBERRA DIFFERENTIAL & MECHANICAL SERVICES PACE – 1770 metres

GENERAL – Stewards inquired into the reasons for SASSY MIA and JUDAH being tightened passing the 400 metres and breaking gait a short distance after.  After taking evidence from drivers Owen Shea (JUDAH), Harrison Ross (SASSY MIA), Scott Hewitt (CREDO STRIDE) and review of the available replays it was established that shortly after passing the 400 metres CREDO STRIDE shifted in slightly resulting in JUDAH being tightened momentarily and shifting in resulting in SASSY MIA also being tightened where a short distance later JUDAH continued to hang in against the efforts of its driver and when corrected become unbalanced resulting in JUDAH breaking gait and SASSY MIA being checked.  In view of all the circumstances Stewards could not solely place blame on Mr Hewitt (CREDO STRIDE) as the racing manners of JUDAH had contributed and according issued Mr Hewitt with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) and advise him to exercise greater care in future.

THE HEATS ON LEXY – Post-race swab sample.  Driver Jett Turnbull was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after straightening he permitted THE HEATS ON LEXY to shift out momentarily tightening EYES OFF TIGER.

SASSY MIA – Tightened and subsequently broke gait shortly after passing the 400 metres

JUDAH – Tightened and commenced to hang in before breaking gait passing the 400 metres. 

EYES OFF TIGER – Over raced during the middle stages.  Inconvenienced shortly after straightening when THE HEATS ON LEXY shifted out.

SAPPHIRE BOY – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke during the score up and in view of the gelding’s recent record will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.  Broke free of interference passing the 1100 metres and shifted out making contact with the sulky of CREDO STRIDE resulting in ELLEONWHEELS being checked.  SAPPHIRE BOY will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.

SHEBETTORWATCHOUT – Hung in rounding the final turn.

ELLEONWHEELS – Tightened shortly after the start.  Severely checked passing the 1100 metres when SAPPHIRE BOY broke gait. Trainer Scott Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare a driver by the required time.

CREDO STRIDE – Shifted in momentarily after the start resulting in ELLEONWHEELS being tightened.  Sulky contacted passing the 1100 metre when SAPPHIRE BOY broke gait and shifted out. Paced roughly passing the 600 metres. 

 

RACE 3 – OSKAR MEMORIALS PACE – 1770 metres

KALYPSO RAINBOW – Post-race swab sample.

PYEKAKARIKI – Over raced during the middle stages when positioned outside the leader and then commenced to contact the sulky with its hind legs.

IM NO STRANGER – Broke during the score up, was out of position at the start and a warning was issued.

LOLLIPOP – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke shortly after the start and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

 

RACE 4 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2170 metres

MERRYWOOD ROSIE – Broke shortly after the start was affected resulting in HELLO I TEA which was drawn behind being checked.  A warning was placed on the record of MERRYWOOD ROSIE.

ARK ALERT – Pre-race blood sample.  

FAY IRENE – Out of position at the start and a warning was issued.  Driver George Lee was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which finished in 10th placing beaten 34 metres.  Mr Lee explained that the mare had hung out throughout and as a consequence struck its knee which ultimately proved detrimental to its overall performance.  A post-race veterinary examination of the FAY IRENE failed to reveal any significant findings.  Given the mare’s recent record, and the overall performance, FAY IRENE will now be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

HELLO I TEA – Checked shortly after the start when MERRYWOOD ROSIE broke gait.

 

RACE 5 – GLEN MIA (ACT) PTY LTD PACE – 1770 metres

CAPTAIN PINNACLE – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke shortly after passing the 400 metres and in view of the gelding’s recent poor record will now be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the satisfactory completion of two trials.

HIGHLANDS WARRIOR – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

FRESH PRINCE – Broke approaching the 1500 metres and in view of the gelding’s recent record will now be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the satisfactory completion of two trials.

ALWAYS BE BRENDAN – Checked and broke gait passing the 1500 metres when FRESH PRINCE broke gait.

SHAKEN SANDS – Checked and broke gait shortly after passing the 500 metres when FRESH PRINCE broke gait.  Inconvenienced and broke gait passing the 300 metres as a consequence of CAPTAIN PINNACLE breaking gait and SINISTER which was following being inconvenienced and shifting out.

SINISTER – Checked passing the 300 metres when CAPTAIN PINNACLE broke gait.

 

RACE 6 – LERIDA ESTATE WINERY PACE – 1770 metres

GENERAL – The all clear of this event was delayed to allow Stewards the opportunity to review the available replays of the start in relation to WORTH EVERY CENT, which was drawn barrier one, racing greenly and breaking gait in the latter part of the score up and to determine the impact this occurrence had on TIGERNATOR which was drawn immediately behind.  After taking evidence from Jett Turnbull, driver of TIGERNATOR, the Starter of the event and review of the available replays it was established that WORTH EVERY CENT raced greenly in the latter part of the score up, shifted in abruptly and broke gait however this occurrence did not interfere with TIGERNATOR due to WORTH EVERY CENT shifting in which afforded TIGERNATOR with clear and unimpeded running to the outside of WORTH EVERY CENT prior to the start being affected and TIGERNATOR had completely fulfilled its barrier position.  Upon consideration of all the evidence, Stewards determined that TIGERNATOR had not been denied a fair start and subsequently gave all clear.  WORTH EVERY CENT was subsequently placed on its last chance in the draw.

WORTH EVERY CENT – Pre-race blood sample.  Raced greenly in the latter part of the score up, shifted in and broke gait resulting in the filly being out of position at the start as a consequence.  WORTH EVERY CENT will now be placed on its last chance in the draw.  Hung in and paced roughly passing the 400 metres resulting in the filly losing ground.  In view of the filly’s recent record WORTH EVERY CENT will now be stood down from racing until trailing to the satisfaction of Stewards.

I LIKA STYLE – Post-race swab sample.

TIGERNATOR – Inconvenienced in the latter part of the score up however filled its allotted position prior to the start.

PADDY MACH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races and being over 12 years of age.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.
