RACE 1 – NATHAN TURNBULL – BATHURST TRAINER OF THE YEAR PACE – 1730 metres
ANDREW SWAGGER – Tired over the concluding stages to finish in last placing beaten in excess of 100 metres. Driver Olivia Frisby was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding. Ms Frisby stated that the only tangible explanation she could provide was the strong wind conditions which were prevailing. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any significant findings. ANDREW SWAGGER will now be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
SPEARHEAD – Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
TULHURST ELVIS – Held up inside the final 200 metres.
REVEILLE JET – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – JETT TURNBULL – BATHURST DRIVER OF THE YEAR MAIDEN PACE – 1730 metres
LLANFAIR ROCKY – Paced roughly approaching the 1200 metres and in view of the gelding’s recent record will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.
BOPPER – Pre-race blood sample.
STUDLEIGH FURY – Post-race swab sample.
ROCKAMARA – Broke clear of interference passing the 1300 metres and in view of the mare’s recent record will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.
RACE 3 – WINDY HILL TARA – BATHURST HORSE OF THE YEAR PACE – 1730 metres
ALTA DOWNS – Pre-race blood sample.
CENTREFIRE – Held up rounding the home turn in the early part of the straight.
HALL MOST AN ANGEL – Inconvenienced passing the 1100 metres when RIVERINA FLASH broke gait. Driver Olivia Frisby was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that passing the 500 metres she permitted HALL MOST AN ANGEL to shift out momentarily inconveniencing PHANTOM STAR. Post-race swab sample.
RIVERINA FLASH – Broke clear of interference passing the 1100 metres and a warning was issued.
TEAM SPORT – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 65 metres and a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination of TEAM SPORT revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to TEAM SPORT racing again.
RACE 4 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN BRONZE CONSOLATION – 1730 metres
CATTLE BARON – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 70 metres and a warning was issued.
UNCLE NOLAN – Broke clear of interference passing the 300 metres and in view of the colt’s recent record will now be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the satisfactory completion of two trials.
CAPTAIN KOSTECKI – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
LOVE A STORY – Broke during the middle stages of the score up and shifted out checking EXCUSE TOBE KING resulting in a false start being declared. LOVE A STORY will now be placed to the extreme outside in future mobile events. Paced roughly passing the 1400 metres.
EXCUSE TOBE KING – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 64 metres and a warning was issued. Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 5 – GOOD LUCK GOLD CROWN FINALISTS PACE – 1730 metres
SATELLITE SIMBA – Driver Justin Reynolds was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 8th placing beaten 61 metres ($4.20). Mr Reynolds was at a loss to provide any tangible explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination of SATELLITE SIMBA failed to reveal any significant findings. Given the beaten margin a warning was subsequently placed on the record of SATELLITE SIMBA.
REASON TO PARTY – Pre-race blood sample. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 47 metres
DUFFY HOLLOW NZ – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 82 metres and a warning was issued.
MEMPHIS FURY – Post-race swab sample.
MARABELLE – Pre-race warm up.
RACE 6 – THANK YOU KEN BROWN PACE – 1730 metres
DEAR DARLING – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which finished in 9th placing beaten in excess of 100 metres. Mr Turnbull explained that he was instructed to allow DEAR DARLING to progress forward after the start and occupy a forward position preferably the lead and surrender the lead to the favoured GO EASY ON ME should the opportunity arise. Mr Turnbull added that after progressing forward during the early stages and occupying the position outside of the early leader KENZIE SHANNON, DEAR DARLING commenced to over race where as a consequence he allowed DEAR DARLING to progress forward to secure the lead. Mr Turnbull added that approaching the 1000 metres he surrendered the lead to GO EASY ON ME however the combination of the early use made of DEAR DARLING, the mare over racing and the fast mile rate of 1:55.7 told on DEAR DARLING over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of DEAR DARLING failed to reveal any significant findings. Given the racing manners displayed by the mare and the beaten margin DEAR DARLING was placed on its last chance to race truly.
SAVAGE STORM – Broke during the score up, was out of position at the start and a warning was issued.
GO EASY ON ME – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
SMOKING SHANNON – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 100 metres. Driver Justin Reynolds explained the fast mile rate of 1:55:7 was the major contributing factor to the beaten margin of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination of SMOKING SHANNON revealed the mare to be displaying a poor post-race recovery. In view of all the circumstances SMOKING SHANNON was placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 7 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN SILVER CONSOLATION – 1730 metres
MACH MAHONEY – Driver Amanda Turnbull was questioned regarding the performance of the colt which finished in 8th placing beaten 68 metres ($3.60). Ms Turnbull explained that MACH MAHONEY became fractious after the initial false start and did not travel throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of MACH MAHONEY failed to reveal any significant findings. Given the beaten margin (68.5 metres) a warning was issued.
IFSBUTSANDBILYCANS – Paced roughly in the latter part of the score up resulting in a false start being declared when OH ITS ON was interfered with as a consequence. A warning was subsequently place on the record of IFSBUTSANDBILYCANS. Hung out passing the 1200 metres.
IM THE MAJOR – Hung in during the early part of the straight when placed under pressure. Checked passing the 100 metres when OH ITS ON hung in under pressure.
ULTIMATE CRUSADER – Post-race swab sample.
HEAD RUSH – Pre-race blood sample.
KING SHOOBEE – Broke clear of interference passing the 1100 metres and in view of the gelding’s recent poor record will now be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the satisfactory completion of two trials.
OH ITS ON – Raced greenly under pressure most notably approaching the 100 metres where the colt hung in against the efforts of its driver resulting in IM THE MAJOR being checked. OH ITS ON will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 8 – GET WELL SOON WAYNE MAHER PACE – 1730 metres
KADAR – Inconvenienced rounding the final turn when STUDLEIGH SUNRISE commenced to give ground.
FURIOUS BART – Inconvenienced passing the 1100 metres when IN LEXYS WORDS broke gait.
SATELLITE SKY – Over raced during the middle stages.
BOLZANO NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Post-race swab sample.
IN LEXYS WORDS – Broke clear of interference passing the 1100 metres and a warning was issued.
RACE 9 – DUNWRIGHT CARPET CLEANING PACE – 2260 metres
BEANCOUNTER – Over raced during the early and middle stages when leading.
ROCKIN IN PARADISE – Pre-race blood sample. Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding not having started in the preceding 12 months. These examinations did not reveal any significant findings. Broke during the score up and a warning was issued.
MY ULTIMATE LUCIUS – Broke during the score up and a warning was issued.
BOHEMIAN BRAWLER – Over raced during the middle stages before tiring to be beaten 70 metres. A warning was subsequently placed on the record of BOHEMIAN BRAWLER.
