ROCKIN SWEET – Trainer/Driver Nathan Hurst was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding and the overall performance of ROCKIN SWEET which finished in 10th placing beaten 41 metres ($6.00).  Mr Hurst explained that he allowed ROCKIN SWEET to progress forward three wide approaching the 800 metres as the speed of the event had steadied and he felt that should he improve quickly he may be able to improve forward and obtain the position ahead of LIMBO LENNY.  Mr Hurst added that this did not occur and the speed of the event quickened inside the final 600 metres which ultimately told on ROCKIN SWEET over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination of ROCKIN SWEET failed to reveal any significant findings.

CENTREFIRE – Checked rounding the final turn when ROCKIN SWEET commenced to give ground and was held up until the early part of the home straight.

RACE 6 – C & S STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1660 metres

WARRAWEE JACK – Trainer/driver Nathan Hurst was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding in particular his decision to maintain the lead when challenged by CALM FRANCO during the early stages.  Mr Hurst explained WARRAWEE JACK was one of the favoured runners in the event and previously has won when able to lead at this track over this distance.  Mr Hurst further added immediately after the start he was challenged by CALM FRANCO, which he felt was of similar ability to WARRAWEE JACK, he thought his best chance to beat that runner was by maintaining the lead to its disadvantage.  Mr Hurst added that in his opinion WARRAWEE JACK was disappointing over the concluding stages and the gelding would now be spelled.

VINYGETSACHANCE – Checked passing the 400 metres when held up behind WARRAWEE JACK which commenced to tire.

TULHURST TOOT TOOT – Broke clear of interference rounding the first turn.  In view of the mare’s recent record, it will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.  Checked passing the 400 metres when WARRAWEE JACK commenced to tire.

RACE 7 – KENNARDS HIRE PACE – 1660 metres

ROCKAMARA – Driver Tom Pay was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which finished in 10th and last placing beaten 58 metres ($2.80).  Mr Pay explained the mare pulled hard during the score up and continued to over race during the early and middle stages when leading which ultimately told on ROCKAMARA over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination of ROCKAMARA failed to reveal any significant findings.  Given the performance and the ultimate beaten margin (58 metres) ROCKAMARA will now be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

Stewards accordingly imposed a 7 day suspension of his licence to drive in races which was ordered to commence at midnight on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
