RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres
ROOBEE – Post-race sample.
SIERRA MIST – Hung out in the early stages of the score up, however regained its barrier position at the start. A warning was issued.
BEEJAYS BLING – Pre-race sample.
RACE 2 – BONVILLA ESTATE WINES PACE 2YO MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres
MAXIMAN – Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for the late driving notification of himself as the driver of the colt.
MY ULTIMATE HENRY – Paced roughly rounding the final turn.
PRETTY PRIVILEGE – Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for the late driving notification of R Morris as the driver of the colt. Galloped clear of interference leaving the 200m. In assessing the previous racing history of PRETTY PRIVILEGE, connections were advised that it would be required to trial satisfactory on two occasions and be stood down for a period of 14 days prior to racing again.

RACE 3 – BARASTOC PACE – 1609 metres
GET US A TINNY – Pre-race sample.
NOWORRIES – Raced wide during the early and middle stages before being restrained towards the rear of the field leaving the 1000m. Tired to be beaten 79m. Driver B Greenwood stated that after initially showing gate speed and being caught wide it appeared that runners to his inside would take up positions at the rear of the field closer to the marker pegs. Mr Greenwood stated that once runners found their positions, he attempted to restrain his drive however the gelding commenced to resist that attempt. Mr Greenwood added that considering his drives racing manners he elected to drive NOWORRIES forward to gain a position closer to the marker pegs in the forward half of the field. Shortly after leaving the 1100m it appeared that ROSES ARE BEST was not going to allow NOWORRIES ahead of it, Mr Greenwood restrained his drive towards the rear of the field to race along the marker pegs. NOWORRIES soon after began to give ground a proved uncompetitive over the final 800m. In assessing the performance of NOWORRIES it was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
WALLAROY BOY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
HALLOWEEN – Post-race sample.
SHALAMAR MISS – Disappointed for a run in the home straight approaching the finish line.
RACE 4 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres
A false start was called at the first attempt when Driver M Formosa (GUNFIGHTERSGHOST) alerted the started of a gear malfunction. It was established that when being geared up prior to the event the right rein had incorrectly been placed through the throat lash.
ROCKNROLL TONY – Pre-race sample. Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
GUNFIGHTERSGHOST – Trainer S Pringle was fined $100 under Rule 273(2)(a) in that when gearing the runner up prior to the event he incorrectly fitted the right rein through the throat lash. In determining penalty, the panel was mindful that this breach resulted in a false start being declared and the race being delayed.
EYES BEEN PATIENT – Re-included back in the mobile barrier draw. Driver B Elder explained that the gelding became fierce following the false start and immediately after the start at the second attempt began to race fiercely and was unable to be restrained. This resulted in EYES BEEN PATIENT racing three wide during the early stages, due to runners being directed wider from the marker pegs racing in advance of his runner approaching the 1200m.
DANCING WITH MY EX – Post-race sample.
A LITTLE DILEMMA – Driver J Osborn was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to his drive over the final 200m with more than a wrist only action. In determining penalty, it was established that this was a first-tier penalty for Mr Osborn.
RACE 5 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres
WILL I AM – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Leaving the 1200m a gear malfunction occurred resulting in the gelding galloping. As this issue was evident on the replays no further action was taken. Cast a shoe leaving the 400m when contacting its own sulky wheel.

RACE 6 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres
BRING YOUR BEST – Post-race sample.
PAD THAI – Gave ground to be beaten 42m. Trainer/ Driver M Grant explained that PAD THAI was possibly not suited to showing gate speed then being caught racing wide without cover. Mr Grant added that, when possible, he would attempt to drive the gelding with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration.
TOUGH NUT TEEJAY – Pre-race sample.
CHARJO – Contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn.
RACE 7 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
WILLS WAY – Held up for clear racing room over the final 200m and unable to be fully tested at any stage to the finish.
FAVOURED GRACE – Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for late driving notification of A Delosa as the driver of the filly.
KATLAS DREAM – Held up for clear racing room over the final 200m and unable to be fully tested at any stage to the finish.
AVENGER NZ – Pre-race sample.
SHARK DANCER – Post-race sample. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
