RACE 1 – PSC INSURANCE PACE – 1609 metres

POINT LOOKOUT NZ – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

ROCKIN BULL – Pre-race sample was taken.

FOXT TROT – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.  Upon request from connections approval was given it to be re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 2 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres

SWEET ROCKY – Checked and locked wheels inside the 100 metres.

CAPTAIN BART – Had a tendency to hang out at various stages of the event and entering the home straight for the run to the finish.  Continued to hang out and inside the 100 metres locked wheels with SWEET ROCKY.  Stewards advised connections a warning was issued.

BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Pre-race sample was taken.

MISTER QUIRK – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 3 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 1609 metres

CONSTANTINA – Pre-race sample was taken.  Had a tendency to hang in during the score up.  Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near fore coronet band.  In addition driver J Gallagher explained that when racing on the turns had a tendency to race roughly and hang out.  Connections were advised it would be stood down pending a veterinary certificate of fitness in addition to the completion of one requalifying trial.  Hung out entering the back straight and locked wheels with MAJOR REASON and in turn checked the running of ILLAWONG DANNY which broke stride.

ONE FOR THE RODI – Post-race sample was taken.

MAJOR REASON – Locked wheels shortly after entering the back straight on the final occasion.

ILLAWONG DANNY – Checked and broke stride as the field entered the back straight on the final occasion.

RICK REILLY NZ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have cardiac arrythmia.  Connections were advised it would be stood down pending a veterinary certificate of fitness including the results of an ECG, the completion of one requalifying trial and a stand down from racing for a period of 14 days.

 

RACE 4 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

LITTLE DEMON – Pre-race sample was taken.  Had a tendency to hang in rounding the final and contacted marker pegs.

LOCHINVAR JAG – Post-race sample was taken.

RADIANT AMBER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. 

 

RACE 5 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

OUR UNCLE JIM – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

ROCKTAGONAL – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

METALLICA MAN – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

NO NOTTHEBUTTONS – Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the run to the finish.

 

RACE 6 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres

WAR WESTERN – Broke stride during the first attempt at a score up and checked the running of PARIS PRINCESS resulting in a false start being declared.  A warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have the thumps.  Connections were advised it would be stood down for a period of seven days.

JILLIBY AMIGO – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.  Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn and checked the running of AVENGER NZ after locking wheels.  A warning was issued.

THOMAS ROYAL – Pre-race sample was taken. 

OHWHATIWOULDGIVE – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES 3YO PACE – 1609 metres

RUBY ROMAR – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

BELIEVE IN CARMER – Driver J Gallagher was fined the sum of $100 under rule 163(3) for trailing a wheel between the 1100 metres and 600 metres.  Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.  Given its limited experience connections were advised it would be stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

THREETWONINE – Had a tendency to race roughly shortly after the start was affected.

KIKI MEISTER – Driver D Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the turn out of the home straight passing the 700 metres closed down the track and placed ULTIMATE DILEMMA in restricted racing room where ultimately that runner was checked and broke stride.  Driver D Murphy’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days.  When considering penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea, driving record and racing manners of both his drive and ULTIMATE DILEMMA.  Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn.

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2030 metres

ROSES ARE BEST – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

SKY CITY NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

OPEN THE GATES – Pre-race sample was taken. 

LORD JAYDO – Sustained contacted as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion after shifting out in the line of HEEZ REASONABLE which resulted in a puncture.

 

RACE 9 – NIFTY’S 300 PACE – 2030 metres

DEECEE ROCKIN – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

SAINT KARAMARA – At the first attempt at a score up driver J Coney raised her hand to which the start was aborted.  It was reported and confirmed that the bit had twisted and caught up in the rein on the near side. 

ROCKNROLL TONY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

BRING YOUR BEST – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
