RACE 1 – MOOREHEAD CRANES PACE – 1730 metres

KENZIE SHANNON – Raced rough in the latter stages of the score up.  A warning was issued.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.

THE ROGUE I AM – Held up for clear racing room until utilising the sprint lane on the final occasion.

HELLO I TEA – Driver J Turnbull was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance which failed to run on over the concluding 200 metres and finished in seventh position beaten 10.9 metres.  Mr Turnbull stated with the gelding being back in grade and racing best when leading the events he had to do more work than expected to obtain the lead (27.1 1st quarter) at the 1200 metres. He was able to obtain a reasonably easy second quarter. Considering the gelding was again placed under pressure from the 550 metres he was not disappointed with the run.  The gelding tended to shift out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.

DUN SPRUKIN – Pre-race blood.

VAMOS – Post-race sample.

RACE 3 – CATTLEWASH AT YIRRIBEE PACING STUD – 2260 metres

TENMINUTES – Driver Ella Turnbull was cautioned on her continuous whip in the home straight on the final occasion.

GRAYSON RED – Pre-race blood.  Driver M Rue was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance when finishing in eighth position beaten 23.8 metres.  He stated the gelding is better placed when racing on the marker line and although obtaining cover in the early stages of the event was obliged to make a run from the 600 metres when trailing BORROWED TIME who had commenced to give ground which had been the contributing factor to the overall performance.

TAPAGANOOSH – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

REBOUNDER – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

FIRESTORM RED – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

SHE THE DEVIL – Pre-race blood.

GO WITHOUT – Post-race sample.

RACE 5 – THANK YOUFOR YOUR SERVICE CHIRS JONES PAC E- 1730 metres

HUNTER SHANNON – Driver T Bullock was questioned on the tactics adopted in the early stages of the event when resisting challenges for the lead when the first quarter was run in 26.6 seconds.  He stated it was the intentions to drive the gelding in a positive manner and elected to drive forward to obtain the lead as he believed SAINT VERAN would hand the lead to JORGE  STREET with his runner being three back the fence which he didn`t want.  He further added he was able to back the tempo off in the second quarter to obtain some respite but was more than happy how the horse finished the event off.  He further added it would be the intentions to drive the horse in a similar manner when circumstances permit in the future.

LUX AETERNA – Pre-race blood.  Post-race sample.

RIPP – Driver J Hewitt was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance when failing to run on over the concluding stages and finished in seventh position beaten 11.5 metres.  He stated the gelding was able to obtain a position in the running line with cover in the early stages, but when the tempo of the race eased in the second quarter the gelding commenced to contact its own sulky and over raced contributing to the gelding not finishing the race off as expected.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 6 – NUTRIEN STANDARDBREDS 3YO PACE – 1730 metres

SMOOTH JESSIE – When leading the event became unbalanced approaching the 1200 metres and broke stride.  Considering the filly’s recent record, it will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

SMOOTH BUCKAROO – Broke stride shortly after the start.  The gelding will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

AURORA MIGHTY ROB – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available in the home straight on the final occasion.  Post-race sample.

TUAPEKA GOLD – Trainer R Alchin was fined the sum of $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to submit a gear form prior to the gelding racing.  Post-race sample.

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres

REDEMPTION MISS

A TRUE PHENOMENON – Slow to score up in the early stages.  Leaving the 1300 metres when being directed down to the marker line has done so at the same time HERESHOPINGSHANNON had improved to the same position and as a result was tightened, when driver T Rue attempted to relieve the pressure he was unable to fully do so as he had improved to the inside of HARVEYS TOOTH and as a result made contact to that runner’s sulky wheel, raced rough shifting back down the track and making contact with HERESHOPINGSHANNON’S font legs with that runner breaking stride.  As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame for this incident no further action was taken.

FOGWATCH – Broke stride shortly after the start.  A warning was issued.

SATELLITE EXPRESS – Pre-race blood.  Post-race sample.

HERESHOPINGSHANNON – Leaving the 1300 metres was placed in restricted racing room when attempting a position on the marker line simultaneously when A TRUE PHENOMENON was, then a short time later had made contact to that runner’s inside sulky wheel and was checked and broke.  As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame for this incident no further action was taken.

BRAMANTE – Driver A Winnell pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when leaving the 200 metres when obtaining clear running has allowed his runner to shift out and make heavy contact to JUDAH RED after activating approved gear.  When assessing penalty stewards considered Mr Winnell’s guilty plea, the degree of interference caused to JUDAH RED and his record in relation to this rule, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 28 days.  This suspension is to commence at midnight on 17 April 2026.

JUDAH RED – Leaving the 200 metres was severely checked and broke stride when BRAMANTE had shifted out.
