RACE 1 – CANBERRA DIFFERENTIAL & MECHANICAL SERVICES PACE – 1770 metres

VALDEZZ – Post-race swab sample.

GLENBURNS WATERS – Pre-race blood sample. Driver G Lee lost his whip on entry to the home straight when becoming entangled with Driver B Jones’ whip which was racing to his inside and as a result failed to carry the whip for the remainder of the straight.

SHAKEN SANDS – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 45 metres and finished in last position. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, Driver O Shea explained that the mare wasn’t suited by the amount of early work that was required to get to the position outside the leader and as a result was then not suited when racing in the position outside the leader.

PADDY MACH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 13 years of age and having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

TROUBLE IN HEAVEN – Driver B Jones’ whip became entangled with Driver G Lee (GLENBURNS WATERS) whip on entry to the home straight and as a result Driver B Jones carried two whips for the remainder of the straight.

 

RACE 2 – GLEN MIA (ACT) PTY LTD 3YO PACE – 1770 metres

LETMEBECLEAR – Pre-race blood sample. Over raced throughout the event and gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 183 metres and finished in last position. In view of the disappointing performance of the gelding, LETMEBECLEAR was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

MAMMALS JEWEL – Driver J Turnbull was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that rounding the first turn he has shifted MAMMALS JEWEL down the track and momentarily tightened the racing room of KIRPHILBRI (M Day Jnr).

MACHX THE STRANGER – Post-race swab sample.

IM NO TROUBLE – Improved three wide from the 250 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.

 

 

 

RACE 3 – HENRY RIXON MEMORIAL HEAT ONE – 2170 metres

FRESH PRINCE – Tightened approaching the first turn and contacted the sulky wheel of KEAYANG JIGSAW and as a result was checked and galloped when that runner was shifted down the track without the required clearance. FRESH PRINCE was retired from the event passing the 1800 metres.

FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Post-race swab sample.

LOVE A BELLE – Pre-race blood sample. Checked and galloped rounding the first turn when avoiding the galloping FRESH PRINCE. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

KEAYING JIGSAW – Driver M Tenardi pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the first turn he has allowed KEAYANG JIGSAW to shift down the track when not sufficiently clear of FRESH PRINCE resulting in that runner being checked and galloping, further LOVE A BELLE was further checked when avoiding the galloping runner. Driver M Tenardi had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 10 days which was ordered to commence midnight 13 April 2026. In assessing penalty, Stewards considered Driver M Tenardi’s guilty plea, record in relation to this rule and circumstances of this incident.

 

RACE 4 – HENRY RIXON MEMORIAL HEAT TWO – 2170 metres

THE TALK – Failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 82.2 metres and finished in last position. In view of the mares’ s disappointing performance THE TALK was issued its last chance to race truly.

ALWAYS BE BRENDAN – Contacted its own sulky throughout the event and over raced. Failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 59.5 metres and finished in 7th position. Driver G Lee explained that ALWAYS BE BRENDAN over raced when positioned on the marker pegs and did not appreciate the tighter 800 metres track in today’s event. In view of the gelding’s disappointing performance, a warning was issued.

SNAKE OIL – Raced roughly approaching the first turn.

WHEN TO WALKAWAY – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1900 metres.

LIT THE WICK – Pre-race blood sample.

TOOLIJOOA BEACH – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample.

NOWHERENEAR CRAZY – Raced roughly leaving the 600 metres.

 

RACE 5 – TWOMEYS ACCOUNTANTS &ADVISORY PACE – 1770 metres

CHRISSY EVE – Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight.

MILLIE FRANCIS NZ – Post-race swab sample.

EYEDIDNTLOSEIT – Improved three wide form the 1000 metres until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 600 metres.

RUDIMENTARY – Pre-race blood sample.

UNCLE CRAIGO – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

TITIWHA – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

 

 

 

RACE 6 – OSKAR MEMORIALS PACE – 1770 metres

CANT HEAR YOU – Pre-race blood sample. The near side hopple shortener released prematurely during the score up on the first occasion and as a result CANT HEAR YOU became unbalanced and galloped causing a false start. In view of the gear malfunction, no direct action was taken.

MICTON MOUSE – Post-race swab sample.

OUT ULTIMATE BONNY – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

LETSGO MATILDA – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 7 – THE TAB APP 3YO PACE – 1770 metres

MAJOR ISSUES – Shifted out passing the 200 metres and as a result placed MINOR PREMIER in restricted room to the inside of BETTORBYTHESEA for a short distance for which a warning was issued. Driver M Hawke was further issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for contributing to interference in that she had directed MAJOR ISSUES wider before being sufficiently clear of MINOR PREMIER and had contributed to the incident resulting in MINOR PREMIER being checked and galloped. Post-race swab sample.

DARK MIRACLE – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages before becoming unbalanced and galloped approaching the first turn for which the filly was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

MINOR PREMIER – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1450 metres. Checked and galloped rounding the final turn when being placed in restricted room to the outside of MAJOR ISSUES and to the inside BETTORBYTHESEA when MAJOR ISSUES had shifted up the track to its inside.

 

RACE 8 – LERIDA ESTATE WINERY PACE – 1770 metres

DREAMTIME NALA – Raced roughly throughout the event before becoming unbalanced and galloping passing the 1000 metres and trailed the field to be beaten 75.6 metres and finished in 9th position. Driver J Locke could offer no explanation into the performance of the mare and as a result DREAMTIME NALA was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

LOLLIPOP – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up for which no direct action was taken noting the false start on the first occasion. Post-race swab sample.

NIFTY SCHOOBEE – Pre-race blood sample.

ROCKETON – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres. Failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 80.8 metres and finished in last position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from atrial fibrillation and acting under the provisions of Rule 101C, the gelding was stood down until a veterinary certificate is submitted, for a period of 14 days and until a satisfactory ECG has been submitted along with completing one requalifying trial.

MOVINTOHELLANDBACK – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

ROYAL FOCUS – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

CHARGING BULL – Contacted its own sulky throughout the event and hung in at various stages before pacing roughly for which a warning was issued.

SAPPHIRE BOY – Fractious during the score up and caused a false start on the first occasion for which it will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 9 – LONSDALE AUTO ELECTRICS PACE – 1770 metres

SHEBETTORWATCHOUT – Hung in and contacted several marker pegs rounding the final turn, gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 60.6 metres and finished in last position. In view of the mare’s disappointing performance, SHEBETTORWATCHOUT was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

STAR CONNECTION – Hung in and paced roughly at various stages of the event. Driver N Hoy was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that passing the 100 metres he has allowed STAR CONNECTION to shift up the track whilst not being sufficiently clear of JUDAH and as a result that runner was tightened momentarily and was checked and galloped when contacting the sulky of STAR CONNECTION.

SASSY MIA – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

JUDAH – Tightened passing the 100 metres and as a result contacted the sulky wheel of STAR CONNECTION before being checked and galloped.
