RACE 1 – LCA ACCOUNTING PACE – 1760 metres

THROWDOWN HOEDOWN – Checked approaching the 200 metres when held up behind THE KID BILLY which was giving ground.

RYKER – Post-race swab sample.

THE KID BILLY – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Jackson Painting was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding which led before giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 29.2 metres. Mr Painting explained that connections felt the gelding would best be driven forward and was able to find the front but had to work harder than anticipated and felt this contributed to the overall performance. Mr Painting added he felt in future THE KID BILLY would be better suited being driven with cover. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

PORT OF MIAMI – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination. No obvious abnormalities were detected. Out of position at the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Failed to take any competitive part to be beaten 86.9 metres and as a result will be stood down for one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities

KALIMBA - Pre-race blood sample. At the request of connections will now be re-included in the draw.

RACE 3 – COOLAMON FEEDWQORKS 2YO NSW BRED PACE – 1760 metres

TIGER IN HEAVEN – Broke after the start and will now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Broke free of interference approaching the 1350 metres and as a result will be stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

HIGHVIEW BONNIE - Pre-race blood sample.

CUSTOMBUILT – Driver Blake Jones was questioned regarding his driving action over the concluding stages after applying the whip in the early stages of the home straight, Mr Jones didn’t use the whip any further and drove the colt with vigour using reins. Mr Jones explained he felt the gelding resented the whip and opted to cease with the whip and drive the colt to the finish with his reins.

NOOGALEEK OFFKILTA – Held up in the latter stages of the home straight.

IM EL ARQUERO – Driver Jackson Painting was questioned on the seemingly below market expectation performance of the colt which started $1.25 favourite and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 27.7 metres. Mr Painting explained he was disappointed in the performance and IM EL AQUERO will now be sent for a spell and as a result was stood down for 28 days. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

BE BETTER - Trainer Carl Eldridge was fined $100 under Rule 273(5)(a) for presenting BE BETTER into the parade ring in the incorrect saddle cloth number. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 4 – MACARTHUR REAL ESTATE PACE – 1760 metres

SPREAD THE FEAR - Pre-race blood sample.

GOODTIME JAZZI – Post-race swab sample.

RACE 5 – MARRAR SALE AND SERVICE PACE – 1760 metres

ELLAVA PACER - Pre-race blood sample. Tightened passing the 200 metres as a result of MAGGIE MOTH hanging in under pressure.

SARA TA SLOY – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 7 – COOLAMON SPORTS AND RECREATION CLUB PACE – 1760 metres

MOP NZ – Held up in the latter stages of the home straight.

MISTER SEASIDE - Pre-race blood sample.

MIKI LOCH – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 8 – DOWONLAOD THE TAB APP PACE – 1760 metres

VIEW THE ART – Lost third place on protest after it was established that inside the final 70 metres the mare shifted wider on the track locking wheels with CORBIE STUMBLER. Driver Jack Stockton was fined $200 under rule 162(1)(www)(i) for shifting ground, in that he allowed VIEW THE ART to shift wider on the track locking wheels with CORBIE STUMBLER impeding that runner.

CORBIE STUMBLER - Pre-race blood sample. All clear was delayed as Driver Blake Jones (placed fourth past the post) indicated he wished to view the films in relation to an incident in the home straight. After viewing the films Mr Jones lodged a protest against third placed runner VIEW THE ART alleging interference over the concluding stages. After evidence was taken from both drivers Stewards were of the view that at a point passing the 70 metres VIEW THE ART did shift wider on the track locking wheels with CORBIE STUMBLER. Stewards were satisfied that had the interference not occurred to CORBIE STUMBLER that runner would have finished in front of VIEW THE ART and the protest was upheld. All clear was then given on 8– 7 – 4 – 1.

CARLO GAMBINO NZ - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding is 12 years of age. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

JIMMY JAMES MAGUIRE NZ – Post-race swab sample.
