RACE 1 – SUCCESS STUD SUPPORTING NSW RACING PACE – 1609 metres

PICCADILLY PETE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

RAVISHING SLOY – Pre-race blood sample.

SURFERS DELIGHT NZ – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field approaching the 1100 metres.

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

OAKIE SMOKESHOW – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned driver Jye Coney with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in ninth placing beaten 29 metres.  Mr Coney advised Stewards that in his opinion the gelding was disappointing despite having to do a fair bit of early work and being left racing outside the leader.  Mr Coney further added that in his opinion the gelding would be better driven with cover in its future racing.  A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Coney, Stewards determined to note his comments.

THALASSOPHOBIA – Post-race swab sample.  Stewards questioned trainer Jarrod Alchin with regards to the somewhat improved performance of the gelding.  Mr Alchin advised Stewards that he was not surprised by the performance of the gelding and in his opinion THALASSOPHOBIA had been racing well, without luck at its most recent starts.  Mr Alchin further added that at its two most recent starts it was badly held up however ran the quickest closing sectionals of the race.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Alchin, Stewards determined to note his comments.

IMA BOXA – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1000 metres. 

MICHAYWEY – Pre-race blood sample.  Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

RACE 3 – ULTRA AIR PACE – 2300 metres

CYA ART NZ – Pre-race blood sample. 

SOUTH SEAS ROCK NZ – Broke stride under pressure passing the 250 metres.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

LOYALIST NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running approaching the 100 metres.

CHASE A DREAM NZ – Pre-race blood sample. 

PINSEEKER NZ – Driver Luke McCarthy was fined $100 under rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier prior to the start point.  Post-race swab sample.

RACE 4 – WOODLANDS STUD INDUSTRY DRIVEN! PACE – 1609 metres

SURF ACE – Pre-race blood sample.

SWEET STRIKE – Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1100 metres.

BANKSY NZ – Stewards questioned driver Lleyton Green with regards to the performance of the gelding which tired over the concluding stages to finish in tenth placing beaten 49 metres. Mr Green advised Stewards that connections were very disappointed with the performance of the gelding and had hoped that the on course veterinarian may have been able to identify an issue however the gelding appears to have pulled up well.  Mr Green further added that co-trainer Dean McDowell advised he would look to have the gelding examined by his own vet and blood tests taken in the coming days.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Green, Stewards determined to note his comments and would follow up the results of the veterinary examination and blood tests with Mr McDowell in the coming days. Co-Trainer Dean McDowell confirmed to Stewards in the days following the event that the blood tests taken from the gelding indicated the gelding is suffering from an infection and will be treated accordingly.

RACE 5 – PRYDE’S RACING CUBE SIBELIA STAKES (LISTED CLASSIC) – 1609 metres

THE ANSWER – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

PEACE OUT – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

GUNNA RELOAD – Improved three wide from the 1000 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 900 metres.

STENO – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

SUGAR PIE HONEY – Pre-race blood sample.  Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

RACE 6 – TINTIN IN AMERICA @ WINGATE FARM PACE – 1609 metres

RIVERA LOU – Post-race swab sample.

MISTER QUIRK – Pre-race blood sample. 

FRANCO NOVELIST NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

GOLDEN TRIBE – Stewards questioned driver Will Rixon with regards to the performance of the gelding which weakened over the concluding stages to finish in seventh placing beaten 18 metres. Mr Rixon explained to Stewards that he had to use the gelding in the early stages to find the lead from the outside barrier and the gelding failed to come back to him during the middle stages as a result. Mr Rixon further added that after the gelding hung out in the home straight as its previous start, a murphy blind on the offside was added to the geldings gear and he thought this may have contributed to the gelding over racing. over raced during the middle stages   A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Rixon Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 7 – PRON8URE PROBIOTICS LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

WICKED CONFESSION – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

CLARA ROCKS – Hung out and raced roughly passing the 1200 metres and again passing the 1000 metres.  Held up over the final 100 metres of the event.

SIREN SEA – Examined prior to the running of the event and passed fit to take its place. 

FARFALLA STRIDE – Pre-race blood sample. 

RACE 8 – FARMER JOES WHOLESALE TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

ALMIGHTY FEAR NZ – Pre-race blood sample. 

SUNNY GEE – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

JUNGLE EYES – Broke after the start.  After considering the recent record of the gelding a warning was issued.

KYVALLEY MAVEN – Cast its off fore plate during the preliminary which required the farrier to re-fit which necessitated a delay of three minutes.  Broke after the start.  After considering the recent record of the gelding a warning was issued.

I AM HELLBOUND – Broke stride free of interference passing the 400 metres.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

COURAGE STRIDE – Pre-race blood sample.  Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

CONSTANTINOPLE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

RACE 9 – APG PACING WITH EXCITEMENT PACE – 1609 metres

VINKE B NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

MIKE ROSS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

CASH AND BLING – Pre-race blood sample. 

JILLIBY FABIO – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.

QUIET STORM – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1100 metres.

KING TIGER – Caught racing wide in the early and middle stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 800 metres.
