RACE 1 – HAPPY MOTHERS DAY SUNDAY MAY 10 PACE – 1720 metres
MAJOR ICON NZ- Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
HES CHARLIES ANGEL – Leaving the 400 metres commenced to give ground and was placed in restricted room passing the 250 metres when THE METAL FLYER shifted in. When questioned C Hart explained that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the tighter circumference track and was inclined to over race during the middle stages. C Hart’s explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
BOLERO – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1400 metres.
WINGMAN LOU – Unable to improve and was held up between the 300 metres and the 100 metres.
THE METAL FLYER – Leaving the 300 metres commenced to shift in under pressure resulting in HES CHARLIES ANGEL being placed in restricted room and having to be steadied. Driver J Daskalovski was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
ARTISTIC SCOTT – Raced three wide over the final 1100 metres.
RACE 2 – AUSSIE NIGHT MARKETS SUNDAY MAY 10 PACE – 1720 metres
LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Raced roughly after the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind leg. Adopting the veterinary recommendations LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE was stood down for a period of seven days and until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted.
FLO RYDA NZ – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
STELLINA – Approaching the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
HOT CRUISE CONTROL – Shortly after the start was hampered by LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE which raced roughly.
RACE 3 – STARDUST CIRCUS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND 3YO PACE – 1720 metres
TARAS TEMPTATION – Approaching the 200 metres struck the sulky wheel of KINGS FURY when that runner shifted in and subsequently TARAS TEMPTATION was severely checked and broke gait.
THREETWONINE – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
COMPLETE STRANGER – Improved three wide in the early stages before crossing to the position outside of the leader near the 1300 metres.
SEABOW – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Passing the 200 metres was severely checked as a result of TARAS TEMPTATION contacting the wheel of KINGS FURY.
THATS WICKED – Broke gait in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start. A warning was issued.
KINGS FURY – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Raced three wide in the early stages before crossing to the position outside of the leader near the 1100 metres. Inclined to hang in throughout the event and hung in severely approaching the 200 metres resulting in the near side sulky wheel of KINGS FURY making contact with TARAS TEMPTATION. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Adopting the veterinary recommendations KINGS FURY was stood down for a period of seven days and until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted. In addition Stewards directed that KINGS FURY complete one satisfactory official trial prior to resuming racing.
RACE 4 – BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY EVERY WEDNESDAY PACE – 2125 metres
HAPPY TOO YA – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
CAPTAIN BLOOD – Hampered when racing behind DILETTO who was yielding ground and subsequently CAPTAIN BLOOD was unable to secure clear running until passing the 100 metres.
ADMIRABLE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Racing between the 500 metres and the 300 metres was hampered when caught behind DILETTO which was yielding ground then the gelding was unable to obtain clear running until leaving the 300 metres.
NOTHINGBUTWAVES – Raced three wide in the early stages before crossing to the position outside of the leader near the 1800 metres.
RACE 5 – MARKETS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND EVERY THURSDAY PACE – 1720 metres
FIRE FOX NZ – Gave ground over the final 400 metres and passing the 200 metres laid in and locked wheels with HARLEEQUIN. A warning was issued.
QUIET STORM – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained toward the rear of the field near the 1300 metres.
HARLEEQUIN – Unable to secure clear running at any stage and passing the 200 metres locked wheels and was severely checked by FIRE FOX NZ when that runner laid in.
DOUBLE IT HARRY – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
ONE FOR THE RODI – Unable to secure running at any stage and as the gelding passed the 200 metres it was checked by FIRE FOX NZ and HARLEEQUIN which had locked wheels.
TOOLIJOOA BEACH – Gave significant ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 97 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver J Callagan explained that TOOLIJOA BEACH felt good in the run and when the tempo improved leaving the 800 metres the horse continued to chase and responded to his driving. He added that shortly after entering the back straight TOOLIJOOA BEACH commenced to weaken. J Callaghan explained that post-race, trainer P Rixon was perplexed with the performance as the horse had been working well leading up to the event. Connections were advised that TOOLIJOOA BEACH would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
RACE 6 – MAJOR OAK THEATRE RESTAURANT PACE- 1720 metres
LEAVE IT TO LUCY – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
MISS BLUE STORK – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RACE 7 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 2125 metres
FINAL PROMISE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Broke gait shortly after the start. The gelding was placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.
TOMMYS LUCK – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1600 metres.
IMA SHINKANSEN – Shortly after the start had to be steadied off the back of FINAL PROMISE which broke gait.
POWERLINC – Shortly after the start was hampered by FINAL PROMISE when that runner broke gait. Inclined to hang in throughout the event and gave ground over the final 800 metres. Connections were advised that POWERLINC would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
GREY CADILLAC – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.
RACE 8 – FISHO’S RAFFLES @ CLUB PACEWAY EVERY FRIDAY 2YO PACE – 1720 metres
MAXIMIAN – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
FACET PRINCE – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
