RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres
WALLAROY BOY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
ROCKNROLL TONY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
ULTIMATE TROUBLE – Post-race sample was taken.
NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
IRE OF THE DRAGON – Pre-race sample was taken.
RACE 2 – BONVILLA ESTATE WINES PACE – 1609 metres
JILLIBY AMIGO – Pre-race sample was taken.
THE CREEK – Post-race sample was taken.
LOUS DREAM NZ – Gave ground racing down the back straight on the final occasion and sustained contact to the off side wheel resulting in a puncture and compounded over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Grima explained to Stewards that at its most previous start it had a similar tendency to drop the bit racing into the back straight on the final occasion and at last start battled on fairly over the concluding stages. He further added that as a result of sustaining a puncture just race under its own steam over the concluding stages resulting in a greater beaten distance. Stewards issued a warning for racing ungenerously at that point and losing ground racing down the back straight.
ULTIMATE RHAPSODY – Had a tendency to over race when caught wide in the early stages of the event being obliged to be restrained to the rear of the field.
SINBINNED – Contacted the off side wheel of LOUS DREAM NZ racing down the back straight on the final occasion and raced roughly for a short distance.
RADIANT AMBER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
RACE 3 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 2030 metres
ERROL FIN – Pre-race sample was taken. Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the movement driver W Rixon reported that after asking for an effort entering the home straight his runner tended to hang out gradually whilst under pressure. Stewards noted his comments.
WHATABOYJACK – Obtained inside running over the concluding stages. Post-race sample was taken.
RACE 4 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres
ULTIMATE CRUZA – Pre-race sample was taken. Post-race sample was taken.
NO NOTTHEBUTTONS – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
SAINT CRUSADER – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
THE CID – Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the run to the finish.
RACE 5 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres
ROCKTAGONAL – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
FORCE FULL – Pre-race sample was taken. Post-race sample was taken.
MASTER CATCH – Broke stride shortly after the start was affected. A warning was issued. Had a tendency to race roughly over the concluding stages whilst under pressure.
RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres
PIXIEBELLE – Driver C Griffiths was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish hampered the running of HOWITIS which was racing to its outside.
HOWITIS – Pre-race sample was taken. Checked shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish.
TWO CRACKED CORN – Post-race sample was taken.
FORTUNA STRIDE – Had a tendency to over race throughout the early and middle stages of the event. When questioned regarding the performance driver A Delosa explained to Stewards that after having a tendency to over race throughout the early and middle stages of the event failed to run on from the 500 metres when asked for an effort. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards noted her comments.
RACE 7 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres
DE LA RENTA NZ – Hampered as the field entered the first turn. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
PAD THAI – Driver M Grant was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn closed down the track and restricted the racing room of DE LA RENTA NZ which was hampered.
HEEZ REASONABLE – Sustained contact to the off side wheel leaving the 400 metres resulting in a puncture.
ROCKNROLL ROCKET – Driver D Murphy was fined was fined the sum of $200 under rule 168(1)(a) in that when leaving the back straight shifted his runner wider and contacted the off side wheel of HEEZ REASONABLE resulting in a puncture.
MISTER BRILLANTE – Pre-race sample was taken. Post-race sample was taken.
RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
SIERRA MIST – Pre-race sample was taken. Checked and broke stride inside the final 100 metres.
BELIEVE IN CARMER – Post-race sample was taken.
DAZZLING GEMS – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish. Driver M Chapple pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after entering the home straight after being held up permitted his runner to shift wider in an attempt to gain clear running and as a result checked the running of SIERRA MIST resulting in that runner becoming unbalanced and shortly thereafter breaking stride. Driver M Chapple’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 21 days. When considering penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and driving record coupled with the frequency in which he competes.
JOE BOY – Had a tendency to hang in rounding the final turn and raced roughly for a short distance.
