RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

THIS IS HEAVEN – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

COOINDALAI – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 2 – HARNESS BREEDERS 3YO PACE – 1609 metres

CENT FOR PLEASURE – When questioned regarding reasons for losing a position in the running line in the middle stages of the event driver B McDonough explained that the tempo in the early stages of the event was quite quick and quickened again as a result of OZZIE PEARL gaining the position outside of the leader at that stage there was a small space for LOCHINVAR MARCELLO which was being restrained to shift down the track.  In addition B McDonough explained that in not chasing his runner to fill the spot was confident that LOCHINVAR MARCELLO would be a suitable runner to trail into the event to give it its best chance.  Stewards noted his comments.

MAJOR AUSTIN – Tightened for racing room rounding the final turn and as a result was checked and broke stride after shifting out and contacting the wheel of OZZIE PEARL.

CANTPLZA MALTEEZA – Tightened for racing room rounding the final turn and ultimately was checked and raced roughly when to the outside of OZZIE PEARL which was weakening and to the inside of LOCHINVAR MARCELLO.

LEWIE KELLY – Pre-race sample was taken. 

BELIEVE IN CARMER – Shifted towards a marker peg position leaving the back straight on the final occasion with limited room and contacted marker pegs.  Shortly thereafter become tightened for racing room when racing to the inside of MAJOR AUSTIN which progressed to the inside of OZZIE PEARL which was giving ground at that stage. 

LOCHINVAR MARCELLO – Post-race sample was taken.

OZZIE PEARL – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.  When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver T Ison explained that after making a move in the early stages of the event to find a position outside of the leader was expecting LOCHINVAR MARCELLO to progress forward and give him one, one cover.  He further added that from that point travelled well throughout the event but when the speed quickened down the back straight failed to respond and gave ground over the concluding stages.  Stewards noted his comments.

 

RACE 3 – JOHN HUNTER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL KIDS CLUB PACE – 1609 metres

CARRAMAR OLAM – Out of position prior to the candy pole prior to the start.  Driver B Hughes was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(i).  had a tendency to hang in entering the first turn and contacted marker pegs and shortly thereafter was placed in restricted room with RICK REILLY NZ closing down the track.  Post-race sample was taken.

THE CREEK – Tightened for racing room rounding the first turn and was checked and broke stride. 

PRINCESS MICKAYLA – Driver G Panella was found guilty under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when closing down the track entering the first turn failed to clear THE CREEK whereas a result that runner was placed in restricted room, was checked and broke stride.  Driver G Panella’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days.

QUICKSHIFT GIRL – Pre-race sample was taken. 

MAJOR MICKEY – Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the run to the finish.

 

RACE 4 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 1609 metres

IRE OF THE DRAGON – Checked and raced roughly racing down the back straight on the final occasion.

KASBAH – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

KIKI MEISTER – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

LITTLE DEMON – Broke stride racing down the back straight on the final occasion.  Driver B Hughes reported that it may have trod on a shoe.  Connections were advised that a warning would be issued.

RADIANT AMBER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 5 – JOHN TAYLOR MEMORIAL – 2030 metres

DANCE WITH CARMER – Post-race sample was taken.

ROCKTAGONAL – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

KANENA PROVLIMA – Pre-race sample was taken. 

LACEYS LAD NZ – Held up for clear running in early stages of the run to the finish.

 

RACE 6 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

LAST TIME JOE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

RACING PAULA – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

WHATABOYJACK – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

 

RACE 7 – PSC INSURANCE PACE – 1609 metres

INDI AIR TONIGHT – Pre-race sample was taken. 

ULTIMATE RHAPSODY – Had a tendency to pull hard during the score up. 

SINBINNED – Post-race sample was taken.

HE SAID SHE SAID – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. 

ULTIMATE TROUBLE – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected taking no competitive part in the event.  A warning was issued.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 8 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres

ROOBEE – Pre-race sample was taken.

ROCKNROLL ROCKET – Post-race sample was taken.

CHARJO – Had a tendency to over race during the early and middle stages of the event.  Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

BRING YOUR BEST – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up.  Connections were advised it would be placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.

SKY CITY NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

WALLAROY BOY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. 

COUNTRY MAJOR – Pre-race sample was taken.
