RACE 1 – CORDINA FOOD CO 2YO TROTTERS FOUNDATION HEAT 3 – 1609 metres

CHIEF KENNY – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 800 metres. Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages for which a warning was issued.

HAMPTON COURT – Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 300 metres for which a warning was issued.

MAJARO GIRL – Hampered passing the 200 metres when improving into restricted to the inside of CHIEF KENNY when that runner was hanging out under pressure. Post-race swab sample.

HILLDALE HILTON – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the colt. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.

 

RACE 2 – DM PLUMBING TROTTERS STANDING START HANDICAP – 2300 metres

GUNNER – Stood flat footed at the start for which a warning was issued.

EWING - Stood flat footed at the start for which a warning was issued.

SHOULD BEABARCA – Checked and broke shortly after the start when avoiding GUNNER and EWING which begun badly.

THEBESTBOURBON – Post-race swab sample.

THE PRIESTESS – Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start for which a warning was issued. Driver W Rixon was cautioned in relation to his whip use in the home straight in particular he was reminded of his obligation to ensure his whip stays within the confines of his sulky.

ITZFERGIETIME – Pre-race blood sample. 

 

RACE 3 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

FACET PRINCE – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the colt. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1250 metres.

MAXIMIAN - Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the colt. Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare himself as the driver by the prescribed time. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – AGT SLOTS PACE – 1609 metres

ADMIRABLE NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining a run to the inside of YOU ARE MY WISH approaching the 50 metres.

KEAYANG GALLIANO – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Trainer/Driver S Grima in relation to the performance of the mare when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 64.5 metres and finished in last position. Mr Grima explained he was disappointed in the mare’s performance and stated the mare is not performing at the races as well as it has been in trackwork and as a result he will be reassessing the mare’s racing future within his stable. In view of the disappointing performance of the mare KEAYANG GALLIANO was stood down until it completes on requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

YOU ARE MY WISH – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – LLOWALONG FARMS PACE – 1609 metres

MADAZALWAYS – A pre-and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

THE EYE IN THE SKY – Pre-race blood sample.

KEAYANG SANTIAGO – Post-race swab sample.

PERFECTDELIGHT – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.

 

RACE 6 – STRONGHOLD FACILITY SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

OUTSIDE FIGHTER - A pre-and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

KAIRAKI DELIGHT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH NZ – Broke the anti choking device approaching the 1400 metres. Over raced throughout the event.

JALANEEL – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 7 – YABBY DAM FARMS PACE – 1609 metres

CARBINEER – Pre-race blood sample.

HAS THE COURAGE – Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 350 metres for which a warning was issued.

PARTY CENTRAL – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

ARTISTIC SCOTT – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

MCBART – Stewards questioned Trainer/Driver J Grimson in relation to the tactics adopted in particular his decision to restrain at the start. Mr Grimson advised that PARTY CENTRAL went forward and MCBART was not suited to racing outside that runner therefore he elected to restrain at the start. Mr Grimson added he was satisfied with the overall performance of MCBART. Mr Grimson was further cautioned in relation to his whip use in the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres

TERRY NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

FORCE FULL – Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare himself as the driver by the prescribed time. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1150 metres. Post-race swab sample.
