RACE 1 – AV STONE MARBLE & GRANITE PACE – 1770 metres

The start was initially delayed to avoid a clash with Race 12 from Traralgon Greyhounds and was further delayed when a gear adjustment was required on LOYOLA SPIAGGIA.

RUDIMENTARY – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

ACHY BREAKY ARK – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Matthew Atkinson was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 9th and last placing beaten 29 metres ($6.00). Mr Atkinson explained ACHY BREAKY ARK was first up since February 2026, however had trialled well leading into the event and was disappointing over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hindleg. ACHY BREAKY ARK will now be stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance is tendered.

CAPITALISM – Held up rounding the final turn and in the early part of the straight.

MICTON MOUSE – Hung in approaching the 800 metres and again rounding the final turn.

 

RACE 2 – MGA INSURANCE GROUP PACE – 2170 metres

MODERN SHEEN – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 55 metres and a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination of MODERN SHEEN failed to reveal any significant findings.

ULTIMATE ROCKER NZ – Post-race swab sample. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be significantly lame in the off foreleg and has subsequently been stood down from racing for 7 days and until a veterinary clearance is provided.

FREASON – Checked passing the 600 metres as MODERN SHEEN and SHAKEN SANDS commenced to tire and remained held up behind these runners until approaching the 400 metres.

MAJORS CREEK – Over raced during the middle stages.

SHAKEN SANDS – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 60 metres and a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination of SHAKEN SANDS failed to reveal any significant findings.

TROUBLE IN HEAVEN – Pre-race blood sample. Out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

 

RACE 3 – TAB.COM PACE – 2170 metres

REFUSAL – Pre-race blood sample.

WHERE BACK – Shifted out under pressure inside the final 200 metres.

CARBINEER – Pre-race blood sample.

THANKS BE TO GOD – Trainer/Driver Jon Ponsonby was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 7th placing beaten 22 metres ($7.00). Mr Ponsonby explained THANKS BE TO GOD was disappointing in tonight’s event and added he effected a gear change by removing the block blinkers which he would reapply after tonight’s performance and also added THANKS BE TO GOD would be afforded a brief let up.

SHEVCHENKO – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 51 metres for which a warning was issued.

NOSAER – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 8th placing beaten 24 metres ($4.20). Mr Turnbull explained that the early use made of NOSAER, combined with the gelding being positioned outside the leader for the majority of the event and the race being over the longer distance all told on NOSAER over the concluding stages.

ARK ALERT – Broke for a short distance in the early stages of the score up.

BORROWED TIME – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – DIFFERENTIAL & MECHANICAL SERVICES PACE – 1770 metres

PYEKAKARIKI – Pre-race blood sample.

CHANSU – Post-race swab sample.

IDEAL TAO – Checked when held up behind LETSTACOBOUTIT passing the 500 metres.

DANCE BABY DANCE – Driver Will Rixon was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to fully maintain his position until the start was effected.

 

RACE 5 – GLEN MIA (ACT) PTY LTD 3YO PACE – 1770 metres

FORGETTABLE – Hung out shortly after the start and broke a short distance later resulting in ROCKINREASON being severely checked and breaking gait and SHOOBEES LOU, SWEET NICKY and IM NO STRANGER being checked. FORGETTABLE will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

GOODLOOKINDEAL – Pre-race blood sample.

STAY LUCKY – Trainer Peter Rixon was fined $100 under Rule 273(5)(a) for the filly being presented at the start with the incorrect number fitted.

AUGUST STAR – Post-race swab sample.

SHOOBEES LOU – Checked shortly after the start when FORGETTABLE broke gait.

ROCKNREASON – Checked and broke gait shortly after the start when FORGETTABLE broke gait and shifted out. Hung in passing the 400 metres and broke a short distance later for which a warning was issued.

SWEET NICKY – Pre-race blood sample. Checked shortly after the start when FORGETTABLE broke gait and shifted out.

IM NO STRANGER – Checked shortly after the start when FORGETTABLE broke gait and shifted out. Trainer/Driver Scott Hewitt was questioned regarding the performance of the filly which finished in 7th placing beaten 60 metres. Mr Hewitt explained that IM NO STRANGER commenced to hang in when improving 3 wide and as a result was unable to occupy the desired position and proved disappointing over the concluding stages. Mr Hewitt was advised that in view of the recent performance of IM NO STRANGER the filly would be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion.

 

RACE 6 – OSKAR MEMORIALS PACE – 1770 metres

SUMMER PUNCH – Pre-race blood sample.

SASSY MIA – Driver Will Rixon was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which finished in 10th placing beaten 23 metres ($2.20). Mr Rixon advised in his opinion the mare was disappointing over the concluding stages and connections had advised it may be their intention to spell SASSY MIA following this performance.

MAISIELOUISA – Held up inside the final 200 metres.

TWO BLUES BLING – Pre-race blood sample.

CALM REASON – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 7 – WATTY’S RURAL & DOMESTIC FENCING PACE – 1770 metres

RAGING ON NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

GRINFARON – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding being 12 years of age. Driver Maurice Johnson was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding. Mr Johnson explained the gelding raced somewhat lethargic during the early stages and took longer than anticipated to obtain the position outside the leader. Mr Johnson further added that GRINFARON was somewhat disappointing over the concluding stages. Upon consideration of the overall performance of GRINFARON, Stewards advised Mr Johnson the gelding would be required to trial prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination of GRINFARON failed to reveal any significant findings.

BONJORGE – Held up inside the final 200 metres. Inconvenienced when disappointed for a run to the inside of MOVINTOHELLANDBACK approaching the 150 metres.

 

RACE 8 – LONSDALE AUTO ELECTRICS PACE – 1770 metres

GLOBAL GODDESS - Suffered a gear malfunction during the event when the buxton breastplate became detached. Jumped a dislodged marker peg approaching the 200 metres and paced roughly as a consequence. Tired over the concluding stages and ultimately beaten 48 metres. Driver Jason Turnbull was advised in view of the mare’s recent record, GLOBAL GODDESS would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

THE HEATS ON LEXY – Post-race swab sample.

ARMA THE GREAT – Inconvenienced passing the 300 metres after improving into a narrow run to the inside of BOY STUNNER which had shifted out slightly when BOY STUNNER shifted in resulting in ARMA THE GREAT being inconvenienced and contacting marker pegs as a consequence.
