THROWDOWN HOEDOWN – Hung-in under pressure leaving the 200 metres.

JUNGLE SHARK – Driver J Locke was queried regarding the below market expectations performance of the mare, he stated that it doesn’t have great speed so worked forward to obtain a forward position in the early stages of the event, but the mare is probably not suited to racing outside the leader. He added that he would have taken cover behind OLLY ODD POTTS which was following him in the early stages however it went back resulting in them being left facing the breeze. He further added when the pace increased from near the 400 metres his mare was unable to increase its speed with the others.

MASTABLASTA – Inconvenienced near the 200 metres when TIGER CHEDDAR hung-in.

OKTOLOVE – Examined by the Club Veterinarian pre and post-race, as it is 12 years old, and cleared of any significant abnormalities.

TIGER CHEDDAR – Pre-race swab sampled. Raced three wide for the majority of the event. Over-raced from near the 1400 metres to near the 600 metres. Hung-in rounding the home turn. Driver A Diebert was questioned regarding the tactics adopted with the gelding, she stated that the intended tactics were to attempt to go forward from the start in an endeavour to obtain a forward position, but added that they were also mindful that there may be superior speed drawn to her inside and did not want to get caught up in an early speed battle. She added that the gelding began well but it was evident near the 1400 metres that they were going to have to do too much work to obtain a forward position with multiple runners going forward from the start and she commenced to restrain the gelding but it got fired up and she was unable to get it to come back. She further added that she continued to attempt to restrain it near the 1200 metres, but it continued to fight her until nearing the 600 metres. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for its racing manners in tonight’s event. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 8 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1740 metres

DIDNT I – Trainer T Judd was queried regarding the seemingly improved performance of the mare, he stated that it was having its first start for him and they were confident of a forward showing. Post-race swab sampled.

LIFE GETS BETTER – Pre-race swab sampled.

KEAYANG LADYBUG – Driver B Jones was queried regarding the below market expectations performance of the mare, he stated that he was somewhat surprised with its starting price given its recent form. He added that he didn’t want to get caught racing outside the leader and attempted to slot into a position in the running line with cover in the early stages of the event, however was unable to do so and had to restrain to the rear of the field to obtain cover. He added that the race wasn’t run to suit his mare from that point with the reasonably quick and consistent sectionals being set. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
