RACE 1 – NEWCASTLE HERALD PACE – 2030 metres
IRE OF THE DRAGON – Driver R Atkins dropped his left foot from the sulky footrest at the 200m when activating gear. Driver R Atkins pleaded not guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) with the particulars being that over the final 200m he applied the whip to his drive with more than a wrist only flicking action. In assessing penalty, the panel was mindful that this was Mr Atkins second offence within a 60-day period and in accordance a $400 penalty was imposed.
YESNOMAYBESO – Pre-race sample. Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
KIKI MEISTER – Post-race sample.
FRANKIROMAR – Late scratching at 3:23pm by Order Of Stewards.
PRINCESS REMI – Over-raced early and middle stages.
RACE 2 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres
ROCK FISHERMAN – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
FAZE OF GLORY NZ – Pre-race sample.
RADIANT AMBER – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.

FAR OUT BRO – Pre-race sample.
KING HIT NZ – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested at any stage to the finish.

RACE 3 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLAK REAY PACE – 2030 metres
FAR OUT RINGO – Pre-race sample.
KING HIT NZ - Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested at any stage to the finish.
THE CID – Post-race sample.
ROUGE BLING - Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested at any stage to the finish.
RACE 4 – THE BILLY BULL HARVEY BIRTHDAY PACE – 1609 metres
MAJOR ART NZ – Pre-race sample. Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested at any stage to the finish. Driver J Daskalovski explained that upon entering the home straight when the leader HUXTON NZ shifted out in advance of her runner she attempted to direct MAJOR ART NZ to the inside of HUXTON NZ along the peg line. However MAJOR ART NZ resisted those attempts to shift inwards and began to hang up the track. Miss Daskalovski then added that once WAMBOYNEINAMERICA had taken that position along the peg line her drive was held up for the remainder of the home straight. Stewards recorded the comments of Miss Daskalovski however advised connections that if MAJOR ART NZ displayed similar racing tendencies in future starts action may be taken against the geldings racing manners.
HUXTON NZ – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight after leading.
TOMAHAWK BART – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering a laceration to the near fore knee. Acting under veterinary advise TOMAHAWK BART was stood down for a period of 7 days.
THE CREEK – Late scratching at 3:23pm by Order of Stewards.
WAMBOYNEINAMERICA – Post-race sample. Obtained an inside run over the concluding stages when the leader HUXTON NZ shifted out under pressure.
RACE 5 – HARNESS RACING NSW/ REPRESENTING THE INDUSTRY WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres
TINNY MAHONEY – Pre-race sample.
CORAL CAYS – Post-race sample.
LIMOUSINE CHEEKY – Galloped racing into the first turn and a warning was issued against the racing manners of the gelding.
ULTIMATE RHAPSODY – Galloped in the score up, was out of position at the start. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of the gelding.
SINBINNED – Held up for clear racing room rounding the final turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
BLING THE KASH – Driver J Osborn pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to his drive with more than a wrist only action in the home straight on the final occasion. In assessing penalty, the panel was mindful that this was Mr Osborn’s second offence within a 60-day period and in accordance a penalty of $400 was imposed.
RACE 6 – WOODLANDS STUD SHUTTING THE WORLDS BEST SIRES LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
KATASTROPHEE – Hung in and locked wheels with IM A LIBERTY GIRL approaching the 400m. A warning was issued to the racing manners of the mare.
THRUTHBETOLD – Held up for clear racing room rounding the final turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
IMA LIBERTY GIRL – Checked at the 400m when KATASTROPHEE hung in and locked wheels.
JETASI NZ – Pre-race sample. Driver J Bigeni was questioned in relation to the reasons for JETASI NZ racing three wide during the early and middle stages. Mr Bigeni explained that his runner was able to race wide at its recent start and was confident that if needed would be able to do similar and race competitive. Mr Bigeni added that he drove forward in attempt to get in advance of ENOLA and added that runner was able to progress forward quickly after the start under him. Mr Bigeni stated that he then progressed forward to attempt to get to the position outside of the leader, however KATASTROPHEE progressed forward in the two-wide line under him resulting in JETASI NZ remaining three wide at the winning post with one lap to travel.
CONCILIATE – Galloped after the start and a warning was issued against the barrier manners of the filly.
RACE 7 – COBBITY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
FOUR FEATHERS – Post-race sample. Shifted out in the home straight on the final occasion.
TWO CRACKED CORN – The off-side of the sulky contacted over the concluding stages when CANTPLZA MALTEZZA hung in.
MEDIA MOGUL – (9th/ 20m/$1.70 fav) Driver S Grima explained that connections were confident of a positive performance and that the gelding raced well when in a similar position at the recent start when able to lead. Mr Grima added that MEDIA MOGUL whilst being able to gain some slower quarters when leading tonight raced flat and had to be driven along for most of the event. Mr Grima explained that going forward MEDIA MOGUL might be a runner that cannot be driven along to aggressively during the early stages and then still be competitive at the finish. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
CANTPLZA MALTEEZA – Pre-race sample. Hung in over the concluding stages and contacted the off-side sulky of TWO CRACKED CORN and as a result paced roughly momentarily.
RACE 8 – NUTRIEN EQUINE STANDARDBRED PACE – 1609 metres
PIXIEBELLE – Locked wheels with BETWEEN DECKS leaving the back straight on the final occasion when BETWEEN DECKS was momentarily tightened for racing room from runners wider on the track.
SPOOKY ART – Pre-race sample. Inconvenienced leaving the back straight on the final occasion when AGIFTFROMTHEANGLES shifted in.
BRING THE BEST – Driver B Hughes explained that he was not given any driving instructions from connections prior to the event. Mr Hughes stated he elected not to surrender the lead when runners wider of him were being driven along due to the amount of vigour being used to attempt to progress forward.
PENURIOUS – Checked leaving the back straight on the final occasion when PIXIEBELLE and BETWEEN DECKS locked wheels.
YELLA – Opened and adjourned an inquiry into the driving tactics of Driver T Ison. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
UNIT FORTY ONE – Opened and adjourned an inquiry into the driving tactics of Driver B Elder. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
BETWEEN DECKS – Tightened for racing room from runners wider leaving the back straight in the final occasion. Locked wheels with PIXIEBLLE for a considerable distance.
AGIFTFROMTHEANGLES – Post-race sample. Driver G Panella was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing her drive to shift into the racing line of SPOOKY ART causing that runner to be inconvenienced.
RACE 9 – SOMERSET MEATS 2YO PACE – 1609 metres
PAIGES BOULDER – Post-race sample.
SOHO MCLUCKIE – Pre-race sample. Galloped clear of interference at the 900m and was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
KOJAX – Hung out at various stages of the event.
RACE 10 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
EXECUTIVEDECISIONS – Hung in under pressure tightening the racing room of LOUTHPARKSHOONER.
LOUTHPARKSCHOONER – Tightened for racing room between EXCUTIVEDECISIONS, which hung in under pressure and SLICK AND SUAVE, which was held up and attempting to gain clear racing room.
SLICK AND SUAVE – Pre-race sample. Galloped in the score up and a warning was issued against the barrier manners. Held up and unable to gain to racing room in the home straight and unable to be fully tested at any stage. Tightened the racing room of LOUTHPARKSCHOONER, when attempting to gain clear racing.
