Race 6, BONCEL BENJAMIN & EXPENSIVE EGO

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT 23rd FEBRUARY 2022

NEWCASTLE FRIDAY 18th FEBRUARY 2022

RACE 6 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES NEWCASTLE MILE (GROUP 1) – 1609 metres

BONCEL BENJAMIN – Trainer Jason Grimson advised Stewards today that BONCEL BENJAMIN had been examined by Stable Veterinarian Dr Andrew Argyle on Monday 21 February 2022 who determined that the gelding had recovered from mild lameness in the nearside hindleg displayed after its performance in the Newcastle Mile. Mr Grimson further advised that BONCEL BENJAMIN had worked well this morning on the Menangle main track and is expected to perform well on Saturday night in the Allied Express Sprint (Group 1) at Menangle on Saturday night.

 

EXPENSIVE EGO – Stable representative Luke McCarthy reported to Stewards that EXPENSIVE EGO had recovered well from its performance in the Newcastle Mile on Friday night. Mr McCarthy further advised that the work of EXPENSIVE EGO had been super this week and he expected the horse will be at its best on Saturday night in the Schweppes Sprint (Group 1) on Saturday night at Menangle.
