RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2030 metres

IMFEELINGIT – Broke the number three carrying strap from the near side during the event.

FOUR STAR LINCOLN – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and checked the running of SPORTING ROBYN NZ resulting in a false start being declared.  A warning was issued.

SPIKEY BOY NZ – Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure racing down the back straight on the final occasion.  Continued to weaken out of the event over the concluding stages to finish well back.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  When questioned regarding the performance driver C Griffiths explained that he had to do some work to find a position outside of the leader before taking cover in the middle stages of the event and when asked for an effort over the concluding stages was somewhat flat footed and having a tendency to hang out and dropped out over the final stages.

OUTLOOK – Post-race sample was taken.

HOLD BACK THE RIVER NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up at its first attempt.  A warning was issued.

SPORTING ROBYN NZ – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

 

RACE 2 – XMAS PARTIES @ NEWCASTLE PACEWAY PACE – 2030 metres

GLENFRANKIE – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

LYDIAS ART NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

ALFREDJOHNCRUSADER – Had a tendency to race roughly in various stages of the event.

TOUGH TALKS – Driver B Hughes was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to be in position prior to the start being affected.

ARTISTIC SCOTT – Pre-race sample was taken.  When questioned regarding the performance driver M Callaghan advised that throughout the event failed to travel genuine and overall was disappointing.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. 

 

RACE 3 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres

INDASKY NZ – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

ABDICATE NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.

MARK MY WORDS NZ – Out of position as the start was affected despite the best efforts from its driver.  A warning was issued.  Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

BIG BLACK DIAMOND – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 4 – JUSTIN ISON’S 50TH PACE – 2030 metres

SUNSHINE PEPPER – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

MAJOR PETRO – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  Trainer/driver M Dawson advised Stewards that he would look to make gear changes and where possible race over the shorter distance and if no improvement was to come would consider the racing future of MAJOR PETRO.

SUGAR FOR MY HONEY – Pre-race sample was taken.  Hampered as the field left the back straight on the first occasion. 

BETTERTHANFEDERER – Hampered and raced roughly as the field left the back straight on the first occasion due to the tempo slackening at that stage.

SHADES OF HEAVEN – Shifted out as the field negotiated the final turn and into the home straight for the run to the finish which placed TYGAR in restricted room.  Driver C Formosa was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.  Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 5 – CALL US TO RENEW MEMBERSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

DOWN STREAM – Slow away as the start was affected.

ULTRA BLISS – Had a tendency to hang out during the early and middle stages of the score and was out of position at the designated candy pole.  Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. 

ROCK FISHERMAN – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

FAR OUT BRO – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.  Driver B McDonough was cautioned in relation to the manner in which he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 6 – KILLIAN WINDO TINTING CLUB MENANGLE WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

GLITTER STRIP – Pre-race sample was taken. 

MAJOR GNP NZ – Examined post-race by the veterinarian which revealed it to be displaying signs of the thumps. 

THE TERRORFIER NZ – Had a tendency to over race severely whilst leading the event contacting its own sulky wheel.  Driver C McElhinney who fixed the sulky was advised to avoid a repetition and make sure the sulky is affixed in a manner as to not allow runners to contact the sulky.

DENSTOWN NZ – Obtained inside running over the concluding stages.  Post-race sample was taken.

WHITE STAR MOLLY – Checked and broke stride shortly after the start was affected.  Upon inquiring with driver D Morgan and driver G Panella it was established that NEVER KNOW BLAZE shifted down the track slightly and in turn WHITE STAR MOLLY shifted up the track slightly and was placed in restricted room.  As Stewards could not lay blame on any horse or driver Stewards reported the incident.

 

RACE 7 – NSWBC REGIONAL 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS HEAT – 1609 metres

CRAFTMANS CHARLIE – Post-race sample was taken.

ROUGE BLING – Pre-race sample was taken.

LOCHINVAR LORENZO – Driver M Formosa was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position on the mobile prior to the start being affected.  Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages.

MUFASA BART – Broke stride as the field raced into the back straight approaching the 600 metres.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 8 – MACHINE SHOP TWO YEAR OLD MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

ELITE MOLLY – Had a tendency to race roughly as the field left the back straight on the final occasion.

BOUGANVILLEA – Post-race sample was taken.

PETES ONA MISSION – Pre-race sample was taken.  Severely checked and broke stride shortly after the start was affected.

NOISY CRUSADER – Had a tendency to hang in at the later stages of the score up.  Contacted the mobile barrier arm and galloped away as the start was affected.  Shortly thereafter veered in and checked the running of PETES ONA MISSION.  Connections were advised given its recent record it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

ULTIMATE HUNTER – Had a tendency to hang out throughout various stages of the event.

 

RACE 9 – NSWBC REGIONAL 3YO FILLIES HEAT – 1609 metres

MY STELLA ROSE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

 

Nil racing incidents.

 

RACE 10 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2030 metres

SULTAN FELLA – Fractious in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected taking no competitive part in the event.  Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

ITS INEVITABLE NZ – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. 

OUR BUSHWACKER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Had a tendency to race roughly under pressure over the concluding stages.  Hampered and raced roughly inside the final 200 metres.

BREXITT – Driver G Panella was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that whilst hanging out applied pressure to the outside rein coming into the home straight on the final occasion and shifted out into the running of SWEET CREATION and in turn hampered trailing runners.  Driver G Panella was fined the sum of $200 under 156(3) in that she applied the whip following the conclusion of the event. 

LA TOISON DOR – Pre-race sample was taken.  Stewards intend to speak to driver S Harmey in relation to the manner in which he applied the whip.

CLASSIC ARC – Post-race sample was taken.

LIGHTNING BOB – Had a tendency to hang in entering the final turn and broke stride.  A warning was issued.
