RACE 1 – THE MULGOA ROAD JAZZ BAND @ CLUBPACEWAY JULY 5TH PACE – 1720 metres
CHANSU – Galloped in the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of the gelding.
SUNDAY MORNINGS – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample.
LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
DILETTO – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
CAPTAIN BLOOD – Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
GREY CADILLAC – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
RACE 2 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY 3YO PACE – 1720 metres
MIDNIGHT HAZE – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after becoming driverless in the stabling area following the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions. Driver G McElhinney was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared to fulfil future drives.
THATS WICKED – Off-side sulky tyre contacted racing down the back straight on the final occasion by SENTOSAR which was trailing.
CRUNCH IT – Pre-race sample.
MODERN MISCHIEF – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
SEABOW – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities.
SENTOSAR – Contacted the off-side tyre of THATS WICKED racing down the back straight on the final occasion. It was established that as FEARFUL was being directed wider on the track, from the marker pegs, this resulted in THATS WICKED being obliged to race wider on the track. Shortly after SENTOSAR was unable to avoid the off-side tyre of THATS WICKED and contact occurred. Driver W Rixon was questioned in relation to his decision to direct his runner towards the marker pegs leaving the back straight where there appeared an opportunity to remain racing wider on the track. Mr Rixon explained that SENTOSAR is a colt which has previously displayed to be better driven with a short sprint and would not have been suited to racing wider on the track in a 28.3 third quarter and 29.8 fourth quarter. Mr Rixon stated that he was satisfied that SENTOSAR would not have finished in a closer finishing position if he was to have attempted to improve four wide on the track at that point. Mr Rixon added that in hindsight he possibly may have been better to improve to the inside of THATS WICKED sooner that what he did instead of initially trying to improve around the outside of that horse.

RACE 3 – BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY EVERY WEDNESDAY PACE – 1720 metres
MAC THUNDER – Pre-race sample.
OUR UNCLE JIM – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
HEAVENLY REASON – Held up in the later stages of the home straight for clear racing room.
SOHO WASHINGTON – Post-race sample.
Following the running of this race a delegation of drivers expressed concerns in relation to the racing surface and visibility. Upon consideration of the delectation of drivers, it was established that the meeting would continue and the surface and visibility concerns would be monitored throughout the remaining races.
RACE 4 – MARKETS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND EVERY THURSDAY PACE – 1720 metres
SKY CITY NZ – Paced roughly racing around the first turn.
YESNOTMAYBESO – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Checked and galloped at the 200m when directed away from WINGMAN LOU which paced roughly momentarily.
LOCHINVAR JAG – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample. No claims lodged.
WINGMAN LOU – Tightened for racing room and momentarily paced roughly at the 200m when CLEAR LEFT NZ was directed wider on the track.
CLEAR LEFT NZ – Driver J Turnbull was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for directing his drive wider on that track when insufficiently clear of WINGMAN LOU at the 200m.
RACE 5 – FISHO’S RAFFLES @ CLUB PACEAAY EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT PACE – 1720 metres
ONE FOR THE RODI – Post-race sample.
MAJOR REASON – Pre-race sample.
RACE 6 – SOUNDPROOFED THE 80’S @ CLUB PACEWAY JULY 11 PACE – 1720 metres
HELENS BOY – Pre-race sample.
CARIBBEAN RUNA – Held up for clear racing room rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
NEED FOUR SPEED – Over-raced during the early and middle stages when racing along the marker pegs.
KAY JAY MIKI – Post-race sample.
CHARLENES DELIGHT – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
RACE 7 – MAJOR OAK THEATRE RESUTAURANT SUPER MAIDEN – 1720 metres
ILUVMYSELF – Inconvenienced racing around the first turn when trailing NEDDING TAY TAY which paced roughly.
CAPTAIN TIDS – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample.
NEEDING TAY TAY – Paced roughly racing around the first turn, inconveniencing ILUVMYSELF which was trailing. Paced roughly in the vicinity of the 900m and then took no competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. NEDDING TAY TAY was placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 8 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres
MAJOR AUSTIN – Pre-race sample. Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested. Contacted marker pegs during this stage, however, did not gain an advantage when doing so.
LEWIE KELLY – Post-race sample.
FINAL PROMISE – Trainer G Duncan was fined $50 under Rule 273(5)(b) for presenting this runner on the track without spreaders. This resulted in FINAL PROMISE having to leave the track to allow this gear to be fitted.
Following this event a delegation of drivers which participated in this race expressed concerns with the racing surface and visibility due to ongoing showers throughout the evening. Upon consideration of the evidence provided by drivers it was established that the racing surface had worsened and that due to these concerns raised the remainder of the meeting was postponed.
RACE 9 – CHRISTMAS IN JULY RACE NIGHT THURSDAY 23RD 2YO PACE – 1720 metres
