OLLIE ONE SHOT – Driver P Tanti pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) in that shortly after the start was effected, shifted down the track and contacted the wheel of DREAM TO DANCE resulting in his drive breaking stride. Driver P Tanti’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 7 days. When considering penalty, Stewards took into account his plea of guilt and record in relation to the rule.

ROCKNROLL TONY – Was examined pre-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Pre-race blood sample. Checked and broke stride shortly after the start was effected. From that point, travelled poorly throughout the run to finish well back. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration to the near side foreleg. Connections were advised it would be required to complete one requalifying trial prior to resuming racing.

BREXITT - Was examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 2 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres

Driver C Carroll was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when racing down the home straight on the final occasion shifted wider in an attempt to gain clear running and hampered the running of HEZA NEEDY which as a result was checked and raced roughly for a short distance.

MIKI BE FREE – Had a tendency to shift ground up the track whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.

KENNY WHAT - Was examined pre an post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

RECKLESS CONVICT – Post-race swab sample.

SZWANEN – Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event contacting marker pegs and ultimately coming into the home straight on the first occasion left the course proper. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. OUR DISPUTE – Pre-race blood sample.

MY MCLAREN – Had a tendency to hang in whilst under pressure over the concluding stages and contacted marker pegs. A warning was issued.

SIERRA MIST – Driver J Coney was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn, shifted her runner wider when not fully clear of ULTIMATE DILEMMA resulting in that runner shifting wider for a short distance and ultimately locked wheels with KYCORDEN which was progressing 3 wide and as a result those two runners were checked. In not taking more severe action, Stewards were mindful that prior to the incident, ULTIMATE DILEMMA had a tendency to hang in rounding the final turn. Post-race swab sample.

EXECUTIVEDECISIONS – Checked and broke stride negotiating the final turn.

ARTISITIC GALAXY – Out of position as the start was effected. A warning was issued. Checked and broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn.

A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. Driver J Coney explained that after being caught racing outside the leader and having a tendency to over race, failed to respond to urging over the concluding stages. Trainer S Kilroy put forward he was of the opinion it may not have appreciated the quick back up in races and going forward would look to space its run more appropriately. A warning was issued against the performance.

RACE 7 – AVE TCHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres

WALLAROY BOY - Was examined pre an post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Pre-race blood sample.

Prior to the declaration of all clear, Stewards gave consideration to a protest lodged by Trainer G Panella (FOUR FEATHERS), second past the post against NITRO DANNY (J Coney), first past the post alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking all evidence, Stewards acknowledged NITRO DANNY had a tendency to shift ground up the track over the concluding stages however, could not form the view this was not to the detriment of FOUR FEATHERS and were not of the view that if this shift had not occurred, FOUR FEATHERS would have finished in advance of NITRO DANNY and as a result the protest was dismissed.

NITRO DANNY – Had a tendency to shift ground up the track over the concluding stages. Post-race swab sample.

FOUR FEATHERS – Pre-race blood sample.
