RACE 1 – TAB.COM.AU 3YO FILLIES PACE – 1660 metres

CALM LEGEND – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up. As it was only the filly’s second race start it will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

LAMNA NASUS – Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 50 metres when looking to obtain clear running was checked when locking wheels with REDEMPTION MISS. As no one horse of driver could soley be to blame for this incident no further action was taken other than to advise Mr Shea to exercise care in similar circumstances. Approaching the 200 metres has hung in and contacted marker pegs with Driver O Shea becoming unbalanced and dropping his left foot for a short distance.

THE NEEDY QUEEN – Post-race swab sample.

REDEMPTION MISS – Approaching the 200 metres broke stride for which a warning was issued. Approaching the 50 metres was checked when locking wheels with LAMNA NASUS.

MRS MAHONEY – Out of position when the start was affected. A warning was issued. When being restrained to the tail of the field the filly was reluctant to travel and tailed the field for the entire event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have an irregular heartbeat. Connections were advised MRS MAHONEY would be stood down for a period of 7 days, the submission of a veterinary clearance prior to racing and requalify on one occasion.

SOME JEWEL – Checked when trailing REDEMPTION MISS and LAMNA NASUS who had locked wheels.

MILLION DOLLAR HAT – Inconvenienced in the latter stages of the score up because of CALM LEGEND breaking stride.

WINDY HILL ABBEY – Driver H Orange was fined $100 under Rule 170(a) in that when leaving the 300 metres has allowed his left to lower from the sulky rest for a considerable distance.

ARMA BITABLING – After being fractious when leaving the score up, Driver M Hutchings raised his hand to alert the starter of a problem with gear resulting in the start being aborted. Mr Hutchings stated he raised his hand due to a rein being caught around the spoon of the bit and the gelding being reluctant to gather speed to fill its position. The filly will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

 

RACE 2 – PARKES LEAGUES CLUB PACE – 2040 metres

MONDO GLITZ – Post-race swab sample.

BARKWAY THOMAS – Tended to hang in throughout the event.

WAT ON EARTH – Pre-race blood sample.

MY ULTIMATE BRUNO – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 3 – TERRY BROTHERS CARPET COURT PACE – 1660 metres

STUDLEIGH STARLITE – Negotiating the first turn was tightened and eased when TULHURST ELVIS shifted down the track. Inconvenienced at the 300 metres because of LOLLIPOP racing roughly for a short distance.

TULHURST ELVIS – Pre-race blood sample. Driver A Hurst was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that negotiating the first turn she has allowed her runner to shift down the track tightening the running of STUDLEIGH STARLITE who was checked. Post-race swab sample.

LINE ME UP BRO NZ – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

HUDSON RIVER – Approaching the 500 metres after having the deafeners removed, hung in and contacted the sulky of CALM REASON and broke stride. Considering the gelding’s record a warning was issued.

DESIDERIO – A pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Driver N Turnbull was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion has done so with more than a wrist flicking action.

CALM REASON – Approaching the 500 metres the sulky was contacted by HUDSON RIVER.

LOLLIPOP – Raced rough for a short distance at the 300 metres.

 

RACE 4 – KENNARDS HIRE PARKES PACE – 1660 metres

JASPERSTIMETOSHINE – Broke stride shortly after the start. A warning was issued.

MISS ARDLETHAN – Driver T Pilon was fined $200 under rule 156(4)(a) in that he has applied his whip in a continuous motion from the 400 metres until the finish line. Furthermore, he was issued a reprimand under Rule 170(1)(a) for allowing his right foot to lower from the sulky rest for a short distance passing the 50 metres. MISS ARDLETHAN tended to hang out under pressure on the final occasion.

MULLUM GUIDO – Post-race swab sample.

KIRPHILBRI – Checked and broke after the start when trailing JASPERSTIMETOSHINE.

LOYOLA SPIAGGIA – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 5 – COACHMAN HOTEL PACE – 1660 metres

BOLZANO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Raced rough in the latter stages of the score up before breaking stride resulting in the red light being activated. As the mobile accelerated from the field the green light was then activated and with several runners being eased due to the confusion of a false start the fall siren was activated at the 1500 metres. Due to no driver hearing the fall siren the race continued until an inquiry was conducted following the running of the race and after taking evidence from the official starter and all drivers, it was deemed that due to half the field being eased in the early stages of the event in the belief it was a false start, acting under Rule 15(1)(h) this event was declared a no race.

RACE 6 – AWN LANGLANDS HANLON 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS PACE – 1660 metres

YA RACIN DASH – Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

MILLWOOD MIKI – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

MY CONFIDANT – Broke shortly after the start. A warning was issued.

WINFIELD BLUE – Checked between the 350 and 250 metres when trailing MY CONFIDANT who was yielding ground.

 

RACE 7 – GRENFELL COMMODITTIES PACE – 1660 metres

MOHAWK PARK – Pre-race blood sample.

LIMBO LENNY – Driver T Pay was questioned on the perceived improved performance of the gelding. Mr Pay stated after receiving an economical run behind the leader and racing on a more suitable half mile track, he believed this to be the reason for tonight’s performance. He further stated the recent run at Bathurst when unable to obtain clear running in the early stages of the home straight was better than it appeared. Post-race swab sample.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR - A pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Over raced throughout the event.

MAISIELOUISA – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.

 

RACE 8 – PARKES FARM CENTRE PACE – 1660 metres

REDUCE SPEED – Entering the home straight on the final occasion hung out under pressure and as a result was checked when locking wheels with SINFUL KISS. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.

DETANGLED – Driver N Hurst was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 200 metres when shifting his runner wider to obtain clear running had done so when insufficiently clear of BETTROBYTHESEA who was inconvenienced.

BETTORBYTHESEA – Inconvenienced approaching the 200 metres when DETANGLED shifted out when not clear.

WOKKA ROCK – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SINFUL KISS – Entering the home straight on the final occasion was checked and broke stride when locking wheels with REDUCE SPEED.

CLEARY – Leaving the 300 metres broke stride when improving onto the back of DETANGLED. A warning was issued.

ONEDARKNIGHT NZ – Checked and broke leaving the 300 metres because of CLEARY breaking stride.

TENEACHWAY – Leaving the 300 metres was inconvenienced when racing to the outside of ONEDARKNIGHT NZ.

 

RACE 9 – THANK YOU LIZ & DENISE PACE – 1660 metres

GRINFARON - A pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding is 12 years of age.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Tended to hang out throughout the event. A warning was issued.

JUST HOME GROWN NZ – Driver B Medlyn advised Stewards at the all clear he wished to view the photo finish link prior to all clear being declared. After viewing the available photo finish link, Mr Medlyn was satisfied with the judge’s decision and as a result all clear was declared on the judge’s numbers of 7 – 4 – 1 – 6.

ALTIANO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

IM HERE TO PARTY – Approaching the 200 metres when racing to the inside of IDEAL TAO was tightened and contacted that runner’s sulky and broke stride.

IDEAL TAO – Driver M Rue was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 200 metres he has tightened the racing room of IM HERE TO PARTY which broke stride. In not taking more severe action the racing manners of IDEAL TAO were taken into consideration when Mr Rue was attempting to relieve pressure to IM HERE TO PARTY that runner hung in. A warning was placed on the mare’s racing manners.

 

RACE 10 – RADIO 2PK/ROK FM PACE – 1660 metres

JUSTAQUICKSCHOONER – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

ROCKAMARA – Pre-race blood sample. negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the mare’s recent record, it was stood down for a period of 14 days and must requalify on two occasions.

COOL BLING – When negotiating the first turn three wide was inconvenienced when ROCKAMARA broke stride. Leaving the 300 metres was severely checked and fell when contacting the sulky wheel of STAR CONNECTION who had broke stride. Driver J Rusten was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared of any injuries at the time of the examination. A veterinary examination of COOL BLING revealed the gelding to have suffered lacerations to both front knees and as a result was treated by the on-course veterinarian. Connections were advised the gelding would be required to submit a veterinary clearance prior to racing.

SEVENTH IMMORTAL – Inconvenienced when racing wide around the first turn because of ROCKAMARA breaking stride.

STAR CONNECTION – Approaching the 250 metres was tightened when racing to the inside of SECRET REASON which hung in despite the driver’s efforts resulting in the mare breaking stride and being contacted by COOL BLING which fell. Driver N Hoy stated the offside shortener pin failed to release during the event. 

SECRET REASON – Approaching the 250 metres despite the efforts of its driver Miss E Turnbull hung in tightening the racing room of STAR CONNECTION who had broke stride. The gelding will be given its last chance to race truly.
