RACE 1 – COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres

D J ROCK NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

GO AWAY AGAIN – Examined pre-race and passed fit to take its place in the event.  Broke stride during the early stages of the score up and continued to gallop and ultimately was pulled up and failed to complete the event.  Driver J Meikle explained the he was of the opinion that it may have got its tongue over the bit.  Connections were advised that due to failing to complete the course was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

MISTER CHEESE – Pre-race sample was taken. 

RADIANT AMBER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

YESNOMAYBESO – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 2 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

A LITTLE DILEMMA – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

TAFL MOVE – Post-race sample was taken.

NEVER KNOW BLAZE – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

WUDERLAND – Pre-race sample was taken.  Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

 

RACE 3 – HAPPY 50TH SCOTT SIMPSON PACE – 1609 metres

QUICKSHIFT GIRL – Sustained a contact to the off side wheel shortly after the start was affected. 

WALTER WARLOCK – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

ROCKIN BULL – After having a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event shifted down and contacted the off side wheel of QUICKSHIFT GIRL and as a result raced roughly for a short distance.

 

RACE 4 – NUTRIEN EQUINE STANDBRED SALES PACE – 2030 metres

SUNSET STRIDE – When questioned regarding the performance driver A Delosa explained that after having a tendency to over race in the position outside of the leader in the early stages of the event failed to travel when gaining cover approaching the 1200 metres and failed to travel from that point and was disappointing over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. 

ITZMINEONTHELINE – Had a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event when in a trailing position on the marker pegs.  When leaving the back straight on the first occasion raced roughly for a short distance before breaking stride prior entering the home straight with a lap remaining.  At this point driver K Bigeni directed his runner towards the inside of the marker pegs and ultimately was retired from the event.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.  Driver K Bigeni explained that after having a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event had a tendency to strike its own wheel and after racing roughly had concerns in its action and its place in the field and ultimately retired his runner from the event.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.  Connections were advised it would be required to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming racing.

PETES CRUNCH TIME – Pre-race sample was taken. 

MAJOR REASON – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 5 – HARNESS RACING NSW / REPRESENTING THE INDUSTRY 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

WARRAWEE WAY BACK – Post-race sample was taken.

LOCHINVAR COOGEE – Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.  A warning was issued.

MARY TALJUICE – Had a tendency to over race when caught wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the rear of the field.

SKYFALL SPIRIT – Hampered coming to the 100 metres when disappointed for a run to the inside of SOCIAL VELOCITY.

PRETTY PRIVILEGE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Had a tendency to race roughly after the start entering the first turn.  When questioned regarding the performance driver R Alchin explained to Stewards that he is of the opinion that after trialling fairly coming into the race after some time away from the races was surprised in the market expectation however after finding the position outside of the lead travelled fairly and when asked for an effort leaving the back straight on the final occasion failed to respond and was disappointing over the concluding stages.  He further added that he would endeavour to find more suitable races at an alternate venue.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

AMERICAN HOLD UP – Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the run to the finish.

KOJAX – Had a tendency to race roughly for a short distance rounding the final turn.

 

RACE 6 – WOODLANDS STUD SHUTTLING THE WORLDS BEST SIRES SUPER MAIDEN – 1609 metres

MAIDEN CATCH – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  Connections were advised that a warning would be issued against the performance.

TIGERSWAND – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver K Bigeni explained that after being caught wide in the early stages of the event to the outside of LOUTHPARKSCHOONER looked to restrain and at that time that runner had closed down towards the marker pegs and shortly thereafter allowed MAIDEN CATCH to fill space in advance.  He further explained that passing the 800 metres looked move towards the marker pegs to trail QUANFA GOLD however that runner failed to travel and was obliged racing down the back straight to move three wide and move round the field to finish off the event well.  Stewards noted his comments however advised that greater urgency needs to be shown in the early stages of the event to find a more favourable position in addition to possible moves being made in the middle stages of the event to move in advance of runners that were trailing the field by some distance.

QUAFANA GOLD – Out of position as the start was affected.  Connections were advised that it will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have a laceration underneath its near side hind foot.  Acting on veterinary advice was stood down for a period of 14 days in addition to a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to resuming racing.

TOWERING FORTUNE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Driver W Rixon was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to maintain his position on the second row prior to the start being affected.  Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – BILLY GOAT CATERING PACE – 1609 metres

MY KGARI – Pre-race sample was taken. 

POPPY LANE – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.  Trainer D Elder advised that it would be moving on from his stables.

UPSTREAM – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

WHITBYS DELIGHT NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

PENURIOUS – Pre-race sample was taken. 

SOME CHEVERON NZ – Post-race sample was taken.
