RACE 1 – THE TAB APP – 1740 metres

General: The start of this event was delayed one (1) minute due to Race 3 at Wangaratta Thoroughbreds being behind their scheduled starting time.

RACE 2 – SUCCESS STUD – 1740 metres

SECRET LINE – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

AVA LEANNE – Broke gait during the early stages of the score up however was in position when the start was effected. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of AVA LEANNE.

IM EL ARQUERO – ($1.65 Fav) Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was queried into the overall performance of the colt which finished in 4th position beaten 4.7m after racing in a one out three back running line position for majority of the event. Mr Painting advised he was satisfied with the performance as IM EL ARQUERO was first up since April 2026 and had choked down at its most recent start prior to going for a spell & had choked down when having its first trial back at Leeton 20th July & for that reason was relucted to urge the colt forward at the start or during the middle stages of the event. Mr Painting added when improving three (3) wide approaching the 400m IM EL ARQUERO hung inwards and had to be corrected which resulted in the colt losing its momentum in a quick final half of 56.9 seconds.

RACE 3– POSEIDON ANIMAL HEALTH – 1740 metres

BETTERTHANTHEBOYZ – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

PADDY MACH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 starts & attaining the age of 12 years or older. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

GLAMOUR FOX – Held up during the early stages of the home straight prior to obtaining clear running.

GLAMOUR SYMBOL – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having started in excess of 200 starts & attaining the age of 12 years or older. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

THE CLOCK WINDER – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

HES A TERROR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. 

VILLAGE AREA – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

RACE 4 – TASCO PETROLEUM – 1740 metres

HEZAFLASHONE – Post-race swab.

TUFFASNAILS – Hung inwards despite the drivers’ efforts in the home straight. A warning was issued against the racing manners of TUFFASNAILS.

GO COLOUR MY WORLD NZ – ($13.00) Driver George Lee was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the gelding which finished in 10th and last position beaten 89.6m after racing outside the leader for majority of the event prior to yielding ground rapidly approaching the 400m which resulted in the sulky being contacted and sustaining a flat offside tyre. Mr Lee advised the gelding was not suited racing outside the leader as the gelding appears to race more genuine when able to lead in its races and provided to be disappointing. Trainer David Micallef confirmed the comments of Mr Lee & added the gelding appeared to over race throughout the event which also contributed to the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. GO COLOUR MY WORLD NZ will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.

MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – Checked & contacted the outside sulky wheel of GO COLOUR MY WORLD NZ passing the 400m when it yielded ground rapidly.

LESSISMORE – Pre-race swab. Broke gait during the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of LESSISMORE.

RACE 5 – NIJINSKY STANDING AT YIRRIBEE – 1740 metres

SET PLAY – ($7.50) Trainer Brett Woodhouse was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 5th position beaten 17.9m after racing behind the leader throughout the event. Mr Woodhouse attributed the performance to the overall quick time of 1.52.6 & final half of 54.7 seconds.

THE GOLDEN HOOK – Pre-race swab.

RACE 6 – NORTH SHORE CAFE – 2270 metres

General: The start of this event was aborted during the early stages of the score up when PLAY IT COOL NZ (Ky Bloomfield) when leaving the pre-race circle bucked and got its near hind leg stuck in the sulky dust sheet resulting in PLAY IT COOL NZ thrashing out swinging in the opposite direction and falling dislodging driver Ky Bloomfield prior to regathering to its feet knocking down a track attended & making heavy contact to the on course medical vehicle prior to falling again. PLAY IT COOL NZ was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 4:40pm. Driver Ky Bloomfield was examined by the on course medical officials & cleared of any injuries. The Track attended was examined by the medical officials and found to have skin abrasions however cleared of any serious injuries.

This event was delayed ten (10) minutes & subsequently shown on Sky Racing 2.

KEAYANG DREAMGIRL – ($2.50 Fav) Trainer/driver Codi Rauchenberger was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 6th position beaten 10.1m after leading. Ms Rauchenberger advised the filly to be disappointing and contributed the performance to the filly having two (2) weeks between runs combined with a quick final 1200m.

KEAYANG KAUNA – Over raced during the middle stages of the event.

SINBAD SASSY – Declared a late scratching at 1pm on veterinary advice.

PLAY IT COOL NZ – Pre-race swab. Declared a late scratching at 4:40pm by Order of Stewards when dislodging its driver & falling on two (2) separate occasions. A Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 2/5 lame in the near hind leg & minor skin abrasions on the off fore knee. PLAY IT COOL NZ was stood down from racing for a period of fourteen (14) days & pending a veterinary clearance & until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. Sulky claim lodged.

NO ALIBI NZ – Pre-race swab.

JANIE BLU – Underwent a post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare being engaged to start the following evening at Menangle 1st August 2026. Which failed to reveal any abnormalities. Back in the mobile draw. Post-race swab

RACE 7 – WALSH & BLAIR LAWYERS – 1740 metre

JUST ROLLYOUROWN NZ – Fractious leaving the pre-race circle.

MESSERATI – Pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.

CARLO GAMBINO NZ – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having attained the age of 12 years or older. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

CHANGE TACT NZ – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

RACE 8 – JACINTA BODEL HOMES – 1740 metres

LOMBOK – Post-race swab.

NOVANTA RISING – Underwent a post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding being engaged to start the following evening at Menangle 1st August 2026. Which failed to reveal any abnormalities.

WHERE BACK – Held up and failed to gain clear running the entire length of the home straight.

LITTLE SASSY BOY – Pre-race swab.

NORMS LADY – Held up during the early stages of the home straight.
