RACE 1 – SFD TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres
TRIUMPH STRIDE NZ – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines due to the gelding having not raced since 10 November 2022. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
FRANKYTHEFRENCHMAN – Unable to secure clear running until shifting in passing the 100 metres.
WYNBERG WATCH NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Inclined to hang in under pressure.
EWING - Shortly after the start momentarily placed in restricted room by DESIRING DIAMONDS which shifted in subsequently EWING was steadied and shortly after the gelding became unbalanced and broke gait.
DESIRING DIAMONDS – Shifted in slightly after the start when crossing forward of EWING. Driver R Alchin was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in the future.
ALDEBARAN ZANE – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MAJESTIC FUNDS – Passing the 500 metres MAJESTIC FUNDS became unbalanced and broke gait. In view of its recent record connections were advised that MAJESTIC FUNDS would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial .
NORTIE NADZIE – Broke gait during the score up. It will be continued to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 2 – SUCCESS STUD EQUINE BREEDING TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres
ORIA – Leaving the 350 metres shifted out and made slight contact with the near hind leg of SHOULD BEABARCA causing that runner to be inconvenienced. Driver Z Fitzpatrick was issued with a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference.
SHOULD BEABARCA – Leaving the 350 metres when being shifted wider by ORIA received a slight contact to the near hind leg resulting in the gelding being inconvenienced and shifting wider.
AFFAIRE DE COVER – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 229th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
VALLEY STAR NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
WATTS UP THE HILL – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RACE 3 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres
WILLS WAY – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MADAZALWAYS – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 230th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Unable to secure clear running until shifting wider near the 100 metres.
RACE 4 – ULE HOOF OIL PACE – 1609 metres
KELLOSHIEL – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
AMERICAN BOXER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
RACE 5 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP 3YOPACE – 1609 metres
KERVONBEL – Raced roughly after the start. Approaching the 1100 metres had to be steadied off the back of MISS SAYDEE SLOY when that runner raced roughly. Weakened significantly over the concluding stages to be beaten 108.1 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver S Piltz was unable to provide an explanation for the filly’s performance. Connections were advised that KERVONBEL would stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
MISS SAYDEE SLOY – Inclined to race roughly throughout the event and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 105.2 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver L Rando was unable to provide an explanation for the filly’s performance. Connections were advised that MISS SAYDEE SLOY would stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
FUGITIVE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RACE 6 – FOR A REASON STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
CONCILIATE – Required a sulky change prior to the score up commencing. Subsequently a delay was incurred.
MAJOR BYE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
SHORELINE DREAM – Broke its number two carrying strap during the event and failed to run on over the concluding stages. Trainer/driver S Grima explained he was disappointed with the performance of the gelding given he was able to obtain a position behind the leader in the early stages. He added he was surprised that his runner was unable finish the race off as well as expected. S Grima stated that SHORELINE DREAM maybe better suited when leading. Notwithstanding this it would be his intention to have blood tests undertaken to ensure there was no underlying issues. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
S.Grima reported that in the days subsequent that SHORELINE DREAM had pulled up well and subsequently he would continue with the geldings preparation.
HAS THE COURAGE – During the first score up driver J Meikle raised his left arm to signal that he had experienced a gear issue. Subsequently a false start was declared. It was established that HAS THE COURAGE was pacing towards the mobile during the middle stages of the score up and then it was apparent that the off side rein burr became entangled in the neck strap and due to the gelding wearing a near side lugging pole driver J Meikle was able to free the rein burr resulting in the raising of his arm. After viewing the films J Meikle’s explanation was noted and no further action was taken.
POPS JOY – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MISTER MANAGER – Caught wide in the early stages and was inclined to over race and when the tempo eased near the 1100 metres the gelding was unable to be restrained to the rear of the field and was caught racing without cover throughout. A warning was placed on MISTER MANAGER for over racing.
RACE 7 – BRAVO FOODS PACE – 1609 metres
I GOT CHILLS NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
LOYAL LOU NZ – Trainer/driver S Grima explained that he was disappointed with the performance of LOYAL LOU NZ and expected the gelding to be competitive and improve in today’s event. He added that leaving the 400 metres the gelding was under pressure and failed to run on as well as expected. S Grima added that it would be his intention to take a blood test to ensure there was no underlying issues prior to continuing with the preparation.
S. Grima reported that LOYAL LOU had now been sent a brief spell.
YA RACIN ARLO – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
STARTIN TO GOGH – Unable to secure clear running at any stage of the home straight and was not fully tested.
RACE 8 – NEUTRA-SYRUP PACE – 1609 metres
FASTING – Unable to secure clear running until passing the 100 metres.
OUTSIDE FIGHTER – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 233rd race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
SPIRIT OF ARION NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage of the home straight and was not fully tested.
MYTH YOUALREADY – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Broke gait in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
VINCENZO – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
