RACE 1 – NUTRIEN SALE RACE HEATS AUGUST 19TH PACE – 1730 metres
STARLIGHT SASS – Approaching the 1300 metres was inconvenienced when the pace in the running line eased.
SHE THE DEVIL – Pre-race blood sample.
HALL CASH – Approaching the 1300 metres was inconvenienced when the pace in the running line eased.
FORESIGHT – Post-race swab sample.
DUN SPRUIKIN – Approaching the 300 metres sustained a flat tyre when contacted by BEANCOUNTER. As no one driver could solely be to blame for this incident, no further action was taken. It was reported the gelding cast an off-hind plate.
BEANCOUNTER – Approaching the 300 metres when over racing has contacted the sulky wheel of DUN SPRUIKIN. As no one driver could solely be to blame for this incident, no further action was taken.
RACE 2 – MOORHEAD CRANES PACE – 2260 metres
IM DESIRABLE – Tightened shortly after the start because of SABELLA SHANNON hanging in.
SABELLA SHANNON – Hung in shortly after the start. A warning was issued. Driver T Bullock was questioned on the mare’s overall performance and the tactics adopted when racing outside the leader and at times in advance of BOHEMIAN BRAWLER throughout the race. Mr Bullock stated as it was a reasonably slow lead time of 48.2, he allowed his runner to race to the outside of BOHEMIAN BRAWLER and when doing so over raced not allowing him to obtain cover if available. Considering the mares racing manners he wasn`t disappointed in the run as it only yielded ground over the concluding stages.
DRIVE TO THE BEACH – Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. When utilising the sprint lane in the home straight on the final occasion hung in at the 150 metres contact a marker peg.
TASBMIKI – Pre-race blood sample. held up for clear racing room until the final 200 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – BEDWELLS FEED BARN YEP GOT CHOOKS PACE – 1730 metres
SLYX NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Co-Trainers D&K McDowell were fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to engage V Duncan as the driver by the required time.
NICK OF TIME NZ – Driver L Green was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding and also the tactics adopted where the gelding appeared to negotiate the turn into the home straight on the final occasion wider than necessary. Mr Green stated whilst leading the event the gelding over raced when leaving the 300 metres when placed under pressure was concerned the gelding may have choked down and when entering the home straight shifted up the track with the gelding feeling unsafe refrained from holding the gelding down the track placing no further pressure on the gelding due to his concerns. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Considering the evidence provided by Mr Green, the gelding will be stood down for one requalifying trial.
GRAYSON RED – Post-race swab sample.
BETTER SHUSH – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.
SAINT VERAN – Held up for clear racing room and not fully tested in the run to the finish.
RACE 4 – BLUEPRINT SIGNS PACE – 1730 metres
IDEAL TIMING – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
BUDDY BRILLIANCE – At the request of connections a pre-race warm up was approved. Tended to hang out throughout the event.
RACE 5 – MEMBERS BADGE DRAW PACE – 1730 metres
FIRESTORM RED – Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Pre-race blood sample.
DUFFY HOLLOW NZ – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.
KENZIE SHANNON – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 6 – RELIANCE BANK PACE – 1730 metres
RIVIERE – Post-race swab sample.
KINGS FURY –Pre-race blood sample.
CHANCEUX – Driver O Shea was questioned on the mare’s overall performance when failing to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 9th position beaten 22.2 metres. Mr Shea stated with the extra work he had to do to find the position racing outside the leader and then when racing in that position on the rain affected racing surface proved detrimental to the mare’s overall performance.
MONDO GLITZ – Tended to over race throughout the event.
ROWLEY MINT – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 7 – GET WELL SOON JUSTIN REYNOLDS 3YO PACE – 1730 metres
SKOOKUM – Trainer/Driver C Bourke could give no reasonable explanation for the filly tiring over the final 500 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 111.3 metres. The filly will be required to requalify on one occasion.
THE NEEDY QUEEN – Tired over the final 400 metres to finish in 9th position beaten 55.8 metres. A warning was issued.
PAPIER MACHE – Pre-race blood sample.
REAL TEMPTATION – Trainer/Driver B Hewitt was questioned on the filly’s overall performance when leading the event tired over the final 300 metres to be beaten 35.9 metres. Mr Hewitt stated after having to do more work than expected out of the gate to find the lead the filly then over raced, also considering the rain affected heavy racing surface, he was disappointed in the overall performance. The filly will be fully examined by his own veterinarian and have bloods taken in the coming days and would report back to Stewards of any abnormalities. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have an elevated heart rate.
HEARTOF KINGSCLAIR – Inconvenienced at the 150 metres when improving onto the back of REAL TEMPTATION who was yielding ground.
CHEVAL TIGER – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 8 – YABBY DAM FARMS 2YO PACE – 1730 metres
SWEETE CHEVAL – Leaving the 1400 metres when racing in tight room broke stride free of interference. Considering it was the filly’s second race start she will be required to requalify on one occasion.
REASON TO BE HAPPY – Inconvenienced leaving the 1400 metres when having to shift wider to avoid SWEETE CHEVAL who had broke stride.
TRI TIME – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
HARALAMBOS – Raced roughly in the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. The gelding will be given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Leaving the 1400 metres was checked and contacted marker pegs when shifting to the inside of SWEETE CHEVAL who had broke stride. Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 9th position beaten 65.2 metres. Considering the overall performance the gelding will be given its last chance to race truly.
SHOWEMHOW – Leaving the 1400 metres was inconvenienced when shifting wider to avoid WATTASULTIMATEFIRE who had been checked and broke. At the request of connections, the filly will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
WATTOSULTIMATEFIRE – Leaving the 1400 metres was checked and broke when trailing SWETTE CHEVAL.
MACHZINE MAHONEY – Leaving the 1400 metres was checked when having to shift to the inside of marker pegs because of SWEETE CHEVAL breaking stride. Driver N Turnbull was questioned on the filly’s overall performance when tiring out of the event to finish in 10th and last position beaten 82.7 metres. He stated after receiving significant interference in the early stages of the race and racing on a deteriorating racing surface the filly was slightly disappointing. She will be given her last chance to race truly.
BLISSFUL LOVER – Leaving the 1400 metres was inconvenienced when having to shift wider to avoid WATTOSULTIMATEFIRE.
RACE 9 – LITTLE WYCH PREMIUM SPELLING PACE – 2260 metres
Following the race the judge alerted Stewards there was a malfunction with the photo finish operation during the event. As a result no photo finish link was available. Prior to all clear the judges viewed the available race footage to confirm numbers of 5 – 3 – 4 – 9. With All clear then given

RACE 10 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres
DREAM TO CURE – Pre-race blood sample.
MONSTER MINT – Driver M Wood was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(3) in that between the 1100 metres and the 800 metres he raced on the outside wheel of BOOMER SHANNON UNTIL shifting down to the marker line.
OCEAN KING – Post-race swab sample.
FOGWATCH – Inconvenienced between the 1000 metres and 800 metres when trailing MONSTER MINT who was half carting.
