RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1980 metres

JOHNNY DEE – post-race swab sample.

DOUBLE MACH – Had to be checked severely and broke stride inside the 300 metres when attempting to avoid RIPPIN GOOD FEELIN.

THREE PARTS GREY – Hampered momentarily and had to be shifted slightly wider inside the 300 metres when racing outside DOUBLE MACH.

RIPPIN GOOD FEELIN – Had to be checked severely and broke stride when racing inside ELLIE RIPPIN near the 300 metres which was carried in slightly by DOUBLE LINES, which shifted in marginally whilst hanging in, despite the efforts of its driver.

ELLIE RIPPIN – pre-race blood sample.

WHISKEY ROYALE – Broke stride free of any external factors over the concluding stages and galloped for a short distance. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

 

RACE 2 – THREAD EFFECTS EMBROIDERY & VINYLS PACE – 1609 metres

CHANGES – pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

BINGO SHANNON – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and galloped for a short distance. Trainer/driver Mr J Enks was advised that the colt would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Weakened noticeably over the concluding stages and tailed the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate. Trainer Mr J Enks said that BINGO SHANNON would be spelled. Notwithstanding this advice, Mr Enks was informed that prior to racing again, BINGO SHANNON must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

 

RACE 3 – VISIT OUT NEW ON-SITE TOTE TODAY PACE – 1609 metres.

RIPPIN AN TWISTIN – Broke stride free of any external factors when being restrained rounding the turn after the start and galloped. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

GERRYS JEWEL – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.

HEAVEN FAST – Hung out for some distance inside the 300 metres and placed its driver at a disadvantage. Connections were advised that a warning for racing intractably would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

KENNY WHAT – Hampered and obliged to race slightly wider rounding the turn into the back straight on the first occasion when attempting to avoid FRANCO STYLES. Weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding displayed a slow recovery rate. Connections were advised that a poor performance warning would be placed KENNY WHAT’S racing record.

FRANCO STYLES – Broke stride free of any external factors entering the back straight on the first occasion and galloped for a short distance. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

THE NINJA – Pre-race blood sample. Hampered and obliged to race wider rounding the turn after the start when attempting to shift to the outside of RIPPIN AN TWISTIN.

DELANEY – Hampered and had to be shifted slightly wider rounding the turn after the start when attempting to avoid RIPPIN AN TWISTIN. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – JUST BELIEVE HONOUR BOARD NOW ON-SITE PACE – 1980 metres.

JIMMY STEEL NZ – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up, galloped for some distance resulting in a false start being declared. Trainer/driver Mr T Ison was advised that the mare would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Shifted wider in the home straight when placed under pressure.

RAINBOW TITAN – post-race swab sample.

TASMANS DELIGHT – Hung out during the latter stages of the score up and could not maintain its position on the gate. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

REIGN MAKER – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Pre-race blood sample.

BRAVE BONDI – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the early and middle stages, driver J Turnbull explained that from his back row position he intended to obtain cover, however the gelding raced fiercely when restraint was attempted and because of this, he shifted around HEAVENLY TURBO in the early stages and drove forward. He said that because the tempo in the early stages was moderate when LOOKAT MEE was racing outside the lead he attempted to continue a three wide passage to race forward of that mare. He said when entering the back straight LOOKAT MEE was driven with vigour to his inside which precluded him from crossing that runner and thereafter he restrained to the rear of the field. He said that during this time BRAVE BONDI over raced was difficult to restrain took longer than he had envisaged to obtain cover.

 

RACE 5 – REMEMBERING DAN COSTELLO PACE – 1980 metres.

KATASTROPHEE – Driver T Ison’s left foot dropped below the sulky rest momentarily inside the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

LOCKITINEDDY – pre-race blood sample.

EBBONY STORM – Suffered a gear malfunction inside the 400 metres when the lugging pole became displaced. Had to be steadied continually when racing in restricted room approaching and rounding the home turn, then was held up in the early part of the home straight.

TABRA – post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – NSWOA FIRST PAST THE POST PACE – 1980 metres

EYEKNOW – When questioned in relation to the performance driver J Coney explained that the mare failed to travel at any stage, was unresponsive when placed under pressure and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner. Further she said that she had been advised by connections that the mare would leave the stable of G Coney. Notwithstanding this advice connections were advised that a stand down period of 14 days would be applied and prior to racing again EYEKNOW must perform competitively in two official qualifying trials. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

IM LORD TOMMY – Post-race swab sample.

RACING PAULA – Pre-race blood sample. Had to be continually steadied inside the 200 metres when racing in restricted room, then was unable to obtain clear running at any stage in the home straight and went to the finish without being tested.

 

RACE 7 – NSWSOA FIRST PAST THE POST PACE – 1980 metres

ULTIMATE DIVA – Pre-race blood sample. Hampered momentarily rounding the turn after the start and struck the near side wheel of PURE DRAGON. Post-race swab sample.

AVENGER NZ – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the middle stages driver B Elder explained that whilst travelling well with cover in the early and middle stages, he was content to maintain a marker peg position, then when approaching the 400m he initially intended to shift around MISTER CHEESE to go forward, but as that runner weakened he elected to follow DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ, which improved inside MISTER CHEESE for a short distance. He said that after he chose this option he became held up when DONTLETFEARSTOPYA’s forward momentum ended and he was obliged to continually steady and shift wider approaching and rounding the home turn. He stated that after entering the home straight AVENGER NZ responded strongly and had he been able to obtain clear running inside the 400m he would have finished in the placing’s.

PURE DRAGON – Hung in for some distance rounding the turn after the start, shifted in and sustained contact to its near side tyre which went flat in the early stages. Connections were advised that a provision of last chance to race truly would be placed on the mare’s racing record. Notwithstanding this action driver B Hughes was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii) and told that he must make a greater effort in future to prevent his drives shifting ground.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – Out of position at the start. Considering all the circumstances no action was taken.

 

RACE 8 – CLUB MENANGLE WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

HE SAID SHE SAID – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Post-race swab sample.

THE IRISH EAGLE – Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride and galloped for a short distance during the score up. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

 

RACE 9 – HAZELLS FARM & FERTILIZER SERVICE PACE – 1609 metres

LUKE JOHN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

LAST TIME JOE – When questioned in relation to the tactics throughout driver D Jack explained that despite his pre-race intention to drive forward after the start, the tempo in the early stages was too strong to achieve this. He said that after obtaining cover his drive only travelled moderately, then when passing the winning post with a lap remaining, he shifted from the running line to the inside when he noticed METALLICA MAN begin to give ground. He said that he placed his drive under full pressure inside the 600m and despite it making some ground in the home straight it was slightly disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

CHEZZ DALE NZ – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages and could not be properly restrained.

METALLICA MAN – When questioned in relation to the performance driver T Brown explained that his instruction was to drive forward after the start despite his wide barrier and attempt to obtain the lead. He said that after being unable to achieve this he was obliged to race without cover outside the lead which was unsuitable and because of this the gelding became unresponsive during the middle stages, however when placed under full pressure inside the 300m it responded relatively well and ran to the finish moderately. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
