RACE 1 – THE BIG SPORTS BREAKFAST PACE – 1609 metres
DOUBLE FEAR – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.
OAKIE SMOKESHOW – Pre-race blood sample.
ERUPT STRIDE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres. Commenced to give ground from the 400 metres, where as a result MIKE ROSS NZ contacted to the near side sulky wheel of ERUPT STRIDE NZ and obtained a flat near side sulky tyre. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the near side fore leg and was stood down for a period of six days and the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.
MIKE ROSS NZ – Driver Amanda Turnbull pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that she failed to make sufficient efforts to prevent her runner from striking the near side sulky wheel of ERUPT STRIDE NZ passing the 250 metres causing that runner to sustain a flat near side sulky tyre. After considering the recent record of Ms Turnbull, in addition to the particular circumstances of the incident, MS Turbnull was fined $200. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 250 metres.

DOUGS PLATTER – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres
OUR ROCKER – Stewards questioned driver Cameron Hart with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in sixth placing beaten 4 metres. Mr Hart advised Stewards the gelding hung in quite substantially between the 600 metres and the 400 metres before hanging out under pressure in the home straight which impacted his ability to drive the runner forward and in his opinion impacted the performance of the gelding significantly this evening. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Hart, Stewards determined to note his comments.
BLUTO NZ – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
JAY OK – Pre-race blood sample.
THE ANSWER – Pre-race blood sample.
NO NOTTHEBUTTONS – Stewards questioned driver Josh Gallagher with regards to the performance of the gelding which finished in eighth placing beaten 5 metres. Mr Gallagher advised Stewards that the gelding appeared to struggle rounding the final turn. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Gallagher Stewards determined to note his comments.
QUIET STORM – Held up momentarily between the 150 metres and the 100 metres.
RACE 3 – TAB PACE – 1609 metres
IDEAL TIMING – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.
WICKED WIZARD – Post-race swab sample.
ALERT BAY – Broke stride during the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. After considering the recent record of the colt, a warning was issued.
GRAYSON RED – Pre-race blood sample.
TITIAN RAIDER – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres. Raced roughly under pressure.
SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 4 – HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY AUSTIN MCCOURT PACE – 2300 metres
SAINT CRUSADER – Improved three wide from the 1700 metres until obtaining the lead passing the 1600 metres.
BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Post-race swab sample.
VINCENZO – Pre-race blood sample.
BAXTER RED – Contacted the off side sulky wheel of OHOKA COBRA NZ approaching the 600 metres when the pace of the event slackened causing BAXTER RED to race roughly.
MCWIZARD – Pre-race blood sample.
OHOKA COBRA NZ – Inconvenienced when the pace of the event slackened approaching the 600 metres causing BAXTER RED to contact the off side sulky wheel of OHOKA COBRA NZ.
RACE 5 – CLUB MENANGLE AUGUST GIFT FINAL (LISTED CLASSIC) – 1609 metres
PETES CRUNCH TIME – Gave ground over the concluding stages.
I GOT CHILLS NZ – Post-race swab sample.
LOCHINVAR JAG – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned driver Jack Callaghan with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in tenth placing beaten 49 metres. Mr Callaghan advised Stewards that the gelding raced at Menangle the previous Saturday and in his opinion the track was quite firm and the gelding may have jarred up as it just didn’t seem itself this evening. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.
HEZA PUNK ROCKER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned driver Cameron Hart with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in ninth placing beaten 34 metres. Mr Hart advised Stewards that he was disappointed by the performance of the gelding which in his opinion didn’t travel at any stage throughout the running of the event and may have been a bit flat after winning the previous week. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Hart, Stewards determined to note his comments.
RACE 6 – CARLTON DRAUGHT LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
WEONA MISS MIKI – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.
BEV THE GOAT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
A TRUE LOVE – Driver Jett Turnbull was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that he permitted his runner to shift wider on the track passing the 200 metres when not sufficiently clear of JEWEL HEAVEN causing that runner to be placed in restricted room and inconvenienced.
DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ – Checked and broke after the start when JEWEL HEAVEN hung in causing DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ to cast its near side hind plate.
JEWEL HEAVEN – Hung in after the start and placed DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ in restricted room to the outside of A TRUE LOVE causing DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ to be checked and break stride and cast its near side hind plate. Placed in restricted room passing the 200 metres when A TRUE LOVE was shifted wider on the track causing JEWEL HEAVEN to be inconvenienced.
NASANA NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1100 metres.
RACE 7 – PROSTATE CANCER FOUNDATION OF AUSTRALIA PACE – 2300 metres
SMOOTH BUZZ – Trainer Steve Turnbull was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Jett Turnbull as the driver of the gelding.
CAPTAINS KNOCK – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1700 metres. Post-race swab sample.
MAX DELIGHT – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested. Stewards questioned driver Amanda Turnbull with regards to the tactics she adopted throughout the event, in particular her decision to remain on the marker pegs throughout the middle stages rather than looking to improve in the running line. Ms Turnbull advised Stewards that the gelding was off the bit during the middle stages of the race as a result of the pace being way too quick and therefore she was unable to improve her runner into the event. After considering the explanation provided by Ms Turnbull, Stewards determined to note her comments.

RACE 8 – ULTR AIR TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres
AFFAIRE DE COVER – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Broke stride during the middle stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start and took no competitive part in the event. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.
VALTINO – Raced roughly after the start before breaking stride. After considering the recent record of the horse, a warning was issued.
SUNNY GEE – Pre-race blood sample. Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

CAULONIA COURAGE – Placed in restricted room then contacted marker pegs passing the 150 metres
CASH AND BLING – Pre-race blood sample.
NUGGET ROGERS – Pre-race blood sample. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres. Hung out approaching the 150 metres and placed STARTIN TO GOGH in restricted room causing that runner to contact the off side sulky wheel of NUGGET ROGERS and be checked and race roughly. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued. Driver Bailey McDonough was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 150 metres when NUGGET ROGERS hung out he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent that runner from racing inside the line of STARTIN TO GOGH causing that runner to contact the off side sulky wheel of NUGGET ROGERS and be checked and race roughly. Post-race swab sample.
STARTIN TO GOGH – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres. Contacted the off side sulky wheel of NUGGET ROGERS approaching the 150 metres when that runner hung out causing STARTING TO GOGH to be placed in restricted room and be checked and race roughly.
