RACE 1 – NIJINSKY AT YIRRIBEE STUD FARM 3YO PACE – 1730 metres

YOUDELL – Slow to begin when the start was affected. 

CALIFORNIAPRINCESS – Pre-race blood.  Post-race sample.

MOONLIT ROSA – Raced roughly shortly after the start.  A warning was issued.  The filly continued to race roughly throughout the event.  A warning was placed on the filly’s racing manners. 

IM STARVING – Driver J Turnbull was questioned on the filly’s overall performance which failed to run on when placed under pressure to finish in tenth and last position beaten 42.7 metres.  He stated he was disappointed in the filly who travelled comfortably throughout but when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres failed to respond.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

RACE 2 – THANK YOU BREEDERS VOICE PACE – 1730 metres

WATCH AND WEEP – Driver J Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the gelding when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres tired to finish in tenth and last position beaten 79.8 metres.  He stated from a good barrier draw he elected to lead the event which the gelding travelled comfortably in front but when placed under pressure at the 400 metres commenced to hang out and tire quickly.  He further added that the early speed in the event may have had some effect to its overall performance.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  The gelding will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

JUST HOME GROWN NZ – Checked between the 400 and 300 metres when trailing WATCH AND WEEP who was yielding ground.  Furthermore, was held up for clear racing room until the final 250 metres.

NEVERTOOLATE – Driver T Bullock stated that the gelding having to race without cover throughout the event proved detrimental to his overall performance although disappointed the gelding failed to finish the race off as expected. 

ZOLTON – Checked between the 400 and 300 metres when trailing WATCH AND WEEP who was yielding ground and was unable to obtain clear running until the final 200 metres.

IRK MCGLURK – Pre-race blood. 

PYEKAKARIKI – Pre-race blood.  Post-race sample.

 

RACE 3 – SOHO LANIKAI AT MEDOWIE LODGE LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres

BETTOR BRILLINACE – Post-race sample.

KIA ORA LOU NZ – When negotiating the first turn when being restrained hung in slightly becoming unbalanced and breaking stride.  Considering the mare’s recent record, she will now be stood down for a period of 14 days and must also requalify on two occasions.

FEISTY TIGER – Pre-race blood. 

TULHURST PEBBLES – When negotiating the first turn was inconvenienced when KIA ORA LOU NZ hung in and broke stride.

 

RACE 4 – BLUEPRINT SIGNS PACE – 1730 metres

JOHNNYS BLUE – Approaching the 250 metres was inconvenienced and shifted in contacting marker pegs when RIVERINA FLASH and LOLLIPOP locked wheels.  Post-race sample.

RIVERINA FLASH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Approaching the 250 metres hung out marginally locking wheels with LOLLIPOP.  As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame no further action was taken.

LIMBO LENNY – Pre-race blood. 

BODELETOS – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up.  A warning was issued.

LOYOLA SPIAGGIA – Inconvenienced at the 250 metres because of LOLLIPOP and RIVERINA FLASH locking wheels.

LOLLIPOP – Approaching the 250 metres tended to hang in under pressure racing roughly before locking wheels with RIVERINA FLASH.  As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame no further action was taken.

 

RACE 5 – MIRAGE HANOVER AT COBBITTY EQUINE WARATAH HEAT – 1730 metres

SMOOTH EURO – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.

ULTIMATE EQUUS – Post-race sample.

KAY JAY MIKI – Driver J Turnbull could give no reasonable explanation for the gelding racing below market expectation when finishing in tenth and last position beaten 55.2 metres.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s performance.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. 

TAKE HIS PLACE – Pre-race blood. 

LOVE WATCH – Broke stride shortly after the start.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 6 – BREED YOUR MARE AT ARTISTIC LODGE PACE – 1730 metres

BOHEMIAN FLY BY – Leaving the 300 metres commenced to race roughly under pressure hanging in contacting marker pegs and losing ground causing interference to the runners trailing.  Considering the gelding’s recent record, it will be stood down for a period of 14 days and must requalify on two occasions.

TULHURST MAUREEN – Pre-race blood. 

MAKE MINE MERICAN – Post-race sample.

ORANGE FEVER – Inconvenienced when improving onto the back of ULTIMATE COOKIE contacting that runner’s sulky at the 250 metres. 

ULTIMATE COOKIE – Checked when trailing BOHEMIAN FLY BY who was yielding ground after racing roughly under pressure and sustained a flat tyre because of ORANGE FEVER making contact.

 

RACE 7 – TOWN AND COUNTRY RURAL SUPPLIES PACE – 2260 metres

FURYROCK – Leaving the 250 metres hung out, became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.

MICKILLATIGER – Pre-race blood. 

PEPPERMINT – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

NAVI JO – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

SOME JEWEL – Driver J Hewitt stated the filly when approaching the 200 metres although racing in restricted room broke stride as a result of over racing and may have choked down.  Considering the filly’s recent record, she was stood down for a period of 14 days and must also requalify on two occasions.

ALWAYS A SAM – At the request of connections the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.  Post-race sample.

AARON MINT – Out of position when the start was affected.  The gelding will continue to be placed right outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts. 

 

RACE 8 –DOWNBYTHESEASIDE AT WOODLANDS STUD 3YO PACE – 1730 metres

WIT WICKEE – When leading the event tended to over race.

ARMA BITABLING – Broke stride shortly after the start.  The filly will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

MONTRELL – Hung out shortly after the start before breaking stride.  A warning was issued.  Inconvenienced at the 1500 metres when shifting wider to avoid ARMA BITABLING.

TULHURST BARRACUDA – Checked after the start when MONTRELL hung out before breaking stride.  Inconvenienced at the 1500 metres when shifting wider to avoid ARMA BITABLING who had broken stride.  Approaching the 250 metres was severely checked when making contact to the back of ESSJAYPEE HANOVER who had broke stride and fell.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have minor abrasions to its chest.

FOUR IN HAND – At the 250 metres was severely checked because of ESSJAYPEE HANOVER falling.

ESSJAYPEE HANOVER – Approaching the 250 metres raced rough for a short distance before falling dislodging driver G Cattell.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained lacerations to both shoulders.  ESSJAYPEE HANOVER will be stood down for a period of 14 days and must also submit a veterinary clearance prior completing one satisfactory requalifying trial.  Driver G Cattell was examined by the on-course paramedics before being transported to Orange hospital by NSW ambulance for further examination.  Mr Cattell will require a medical clearance prior to driving at trials or races.

RACE 9 – BATHURST HRC STALLION TENDER COMING SOON PACE – 1730 metres

The start of this event was delayed for a considerable time to allow NSW ambulance arrive at the track to transport driver G Cattell to hospital.  The new starting times were Race 9 at 10.50pm and Race 10 at 11.12pm

IDEAL TAO – Pre-race blood.  Held up for clear racing room until utilising the sprint lane in the home straight on the final occasion.

DESIDERIO – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Driver O Shea was issued a reprimand under rule 170(2) for driving with his body outside the confines of the sulky.  In not taking further actions the racing manners of DESIDERIO who was over racing was taken into consideration.

ADERFAKI – Tended to over race throughout the event.

CLASSIC BEESMACK – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 10 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 2260 metres

CLASSYNFABULOUS – When leaving the 900 metres was tightened and contacted marker pegs.

JUDAH – Broke stride in the score up and was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

THE NEEDY QUEEN – Tended to over race throughout the event before giving ground over the concluding stages.

OCEAN KING – Post-race sample.

SURPRISE PACKET – Driver M Day Jnr was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have his runner in position prior to the start.

TEESWIFT – Pre-race blood.
