RACE 1 – PENRITH SHOW THIS WEEKEND AUGUST 29 & 30 PACE – 1720 metres

STANNUM – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards withheld the declaration of All Clear as a result of STANNUM being retired from the event immediately after the start with a flat near side sulky tyre. After taking evidence from Driver Chris Geary and reviewing the available films, it was established in the latter stages of the score up HOMEBOUND which was over racing hung in and contacted the near side sulky wheel of STANNUM causing the tyre to deflate. In accordance with Rule 141(1)(b) Stewards determined the horse had been denied a fair start and ordered the horse be declared a non starter.

CORNELIUS – Post-race swab sample.

MUSICSTAR – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. After considering the recent record of the filly, a warning was issued. Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

HOMEBOUND – Pulled hard in the score up and hung in contacting the near side sulky wheel of STANNUM causing that runner to sustain a flat near side sulky tyre. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.

SO CAN EYE – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear notification for the gelding. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

RACE 2 – BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY EVERY WEDNESDAY PACE – 1720 metres

RALLY AROUND – Post-race swab sample.

HONOLULU PRINCESS – Galloped out and inconvenienced CARIBBEAN RUNA. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.

HESHARLEY – Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

SIR KNIGHT – Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres.

RIPSTONE SNORTER – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

CONSIDER IT DONE – Improved three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the lead passing the 1200 metres.

CARIBBEAN RUNA - Inconvenienced after the start when HONOLULU PRINCESS galloped out.

LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 3 – FATHER’S DAY FEAST AT CLUB PACEWAY SUNDAY SEPT 6 BOOK NOW PACE – 2125 metres

JETASI NZ – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1700 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Klayton Bigeni with regards to the performance of the mare which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 8th placing beaten 24 metres. Mr Bigeni advised Stewards the mare failed to travel at any stage during the event and in his opinion was quite lazy today. Mr Bigeni further added the mare had not raced for 3 weeks prior to tonight’s effort, and this may have contributed. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Bigeni, stewards determined to note his comments.

NITRO DANNY – Stewards questioned Driver Jack Callaghan with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 9th placing beaten 39 metres. Mr Callaghan advised Stewards the gelding had travelled comfortably in the early stages of the event until such time as OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ improved forward and applied pressure and felt his gelding was disappointing over the concluding stages. Mr Callaghan further advised NITRO DANNY would be better suited over the mile when able to lead. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Callaghan, Stewards determined to note his comments.

ADDOCAR – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1500 metres.

OURTRECHEROUS REIGN NZ – Improved three wide from the 1700 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.

GREY CADILLAC – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding is 12 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

RACE 4 – MARKETS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND EVERY THURSDAY 2YO PACE – 1720 metres

MAVERICK – Inconvenienced approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride.

SOCIAL VELOCITY – Pre-race blood sample. Checked approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride.

THE SHOWGIRL – Over raced during the middle stages of the event. Inconvenienced approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride.

MARY TALJUICE – Checked approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride.

FEROCIOUS LOVER – Checked approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride.

GUNNAREASON – Trainer Peter Rixon was reprimanded under Rule 41(1) for the late arrival of the filly. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres. Broke stride under pressure approaching the 200 metres and inconvenienced STEELY ZAC, THE SHOWGIRL and MAVERICK and checking PASSION AND PAIN, MARY TALJUICE, FEROCIOUS LOVER and SOCIAL VELOCITY. After considering the recent record of the filly, a warning was issued.

STEELY ZAC - Trainer Peter Rixon was reprimanded under Rule 41(1) for the late arrival of the gelding. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Inconvenienced approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride. Post-race swab sample.

PASSION AND PAIN – Improved three wide from the 1000 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 800 metres. Checked approaching the 200 metres when GUNNAREASON broke stride.

RACE 5 – FISHO’S RAFFLES @ CLUB PACEWAY EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT 3YO PACE – 1720 metres

WHERES MY REASON – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres.

THREETWONINE – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear notification for the filly. Pre-race blood sample.

CRUNCH IT – Hung out and raced roughly approaching the 1400 metres causing MARRANZANO to contact the offside sulky wheel of CRUNCH IT and that runner to sustain a flat offside sulky tyre and be retired from the event.

MARRANZANO – Shifted out to avoid CRUNCH IT which had hung out and raced roughly approaching the 1400 metres causing MARRANZANO to contact the offside sulky wheel of that runner.

RACE 6 – MAJOR OAK THEATRE RESTAURANT @ CLUB PACEWAY BOOK NOW PACE – 1720 metres

MAID OF MONEY NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

SHEVCHENKO – Placed in restricted room and contacted marker pegs entering the first turn when AMERICAN BOXER was shifted down the track. Tired over the concluding stages of the event.

BLACKJACK BART – Slow to begin.

FLO RYDA NZ - Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Placed in restricted room upon entry to the first turn when AMERICAN BOXER was shifted down the track.

AMERICAN BOXER – Driver Joshua Gallagher was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that he permitted his runner to shift down the track when not sufficiently clear of FLO RYDA NZ and SHEVCHENKO upon entry to the first turn causing both of those runners to be placed in restricted room and SHEVCHENKO to contact a number of marker pegs. Stewards questioned Driver Joshua Gallagher with regards to the performance of the horse which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 10th placing beaten 74 metres. Mr Gallagher advised Stewards in his opinion the horse was very disappointing after failing to respond over the concluding stages despite the pressure applied by BETTINE during the middle stages. Mr Gallagher advised Stewards Trainer Kevin Pizzuto would likely get the horse further examined by the stable veterinarian in the coming days and advise Stewards of any abnormalities that may present. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Gallagher, stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 7 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 2125 metres

MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1600 metres. Contacted the offside sulky wheel of IDEAL MARQUESS when being shifted wider on the track passing the 500 metres.

NOTHINGBUTWAVES – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

ROCKNROLL GIG – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1800 metres.

MAJOR ART NZ – Post-race swab sample.

IDEAL MARQUESS – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Zara Fitzpatrick advised Stewards immediately after the completion of the event and prior to the declaration of All Clear that she wished to review the films of the final 500 metres to consider lodging a protest against the second placed runner MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA, wherein that runner contacted her offside sulky wheel when being shifted wider on the track passing the 500 metres. After reviewing the films Driver Zara Fitzpatrick elected not to exercise her right to lodge a protest against MY ULTIMATE BUDDHA and All Clear was given on the judge’s numbers. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 8 – PENRITH HIGHLANDS FESTIVAL @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND OCT 3 PACE – 1720 metres

HES A MEISTER NZ – Shifted out under pressure.

TITIAN RAIDER – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Over raced during the middle stages. Stewards questioned Driver Ashleigh Delosa with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 9th placing beaten 21 metres. Miss Delosa advised Stewards the gelding pulled its way to the lead of the event as a result of kicking its own sulky wheels and becoming quite fired up around the tighter Penrith circuit. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Miss Delosa, Stewards determined to note her comments, however a warning was placed on TITIAN RAIDER as a result of its racing manners.

CAPTAIN RITCHIE – Checked between the 400 metres and the 200 metres behind the tiring TITIAN RAIDER. Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

GROSSO NASO – Improved three wide from the 1000 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 700 metres. Post-race swab sample.
