RACE 1 – GARRARDS PACE – 1609 metres
CAPTAIN BART – Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 100 metres.
COASTAL DRIVE – Pre-race blood sample. had difficulty securing clear running over the final 150 metres. When questioned, Driver M Stanley explained that when driving COASTAL DRIVE with vigour approaching the 200 metres, he became aware there may be a run available to the inside of OUR ROCKER however when he initially looked to improve, OUR ROCKER appeared to shift in slightly which caused COASTAL DRIVE to have to be steadied. M Stanley added that with the benefit of hindsight he would have been better placed following CAPTAIN BART throughout the home straight. M Stanley’s explanation was noted.
IM ROCKIN IT – Post-race swab sample.
OUR ROCKER – Racing between the 500 metres and the 350 metres OUR ROCKER was inclined to hang in under pressure and contacted multiple marker pegs. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
RAVISHING SLOY – Pre-race blood sample.
NO NOTTHEBUTTONS – Broke gait during the score up and was slightly out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Improved three wide leaving the 900 metres and crossed to the position outside the leader near the 700 metres. Shifted out under pressure over the final 250 metres. Driver S Grima was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www) for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent his runner from shifting ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the coronet band of the off foreleg. Adopting the veterinary recommendations, no direct action was taken.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres
PETES CRUNCH TIME – Pre-race blood sample. gave ground over the concluding stages.
GRAYSON RED – When shifting out passing the 350 metres, momentarily locked wheels with NYMBAL NZ.
NYMBAL NZ – Passing the 350 metres when attempting to maintain its position three wide, momentarily locked wheels with GRAYSON RED which shifted out.
LETS TURN IT ON – Pre-race blood sample. Had difficulty securing clear running until approaching the 100 metres.
SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 210th race start. No abnormalities were detected upon either examination. Post-race urine sample. Post-race swab sample.
BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Raced threewide in the early stages and crossed to the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.
RACE 3 – LIVAMOL WITH BIOWORMA PACE – 1609 metres
VAN BASTEN – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running until passing the 200 metres at which point the gelding commenced to race roughly and continued to do so until the finish.
MICHAYWEY – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
RAGING WHITEBAIT NZ – Had difficulty securing clear running until leaving the 100 metres.
DOUGS PLATTER – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 46.3 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver J Grimson explained he was instructed to allow the gelding to stride forward at the start in an attempt to lead throughout. J Grimson explained that once he obtained the lead, MIKE ROSS NZ which was racing to his outside was then restrained near the 1200 metres. From that point DOUGS PLATTER switched off and failed to respond to his driving. He added that in his opinion DOUGS PLATTER may be better suited to being driven with cover and at this stage of his career may not be a leader. J Grimson’s explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MIKE ROSS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 4 – IRT PACE – 1609 metres
JAMIE BLU – Pre-race blood sample.
MAXNJAX – Approaching the 100 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 3/5 lame in the near foreleg. Adopting the veterinary recommendations, Connections were advised MAXNJAX would be stood down for a period of 7 days and until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted.
MCLEAN – Pre-race blood sample.
GO WITHOUT – Broke gait during the early stages of the score up and was directed down the track across the front of DONNIE MAC, SWEET STRIKE, MAXNJAX and JANIE BLU resulting in those runners being hampered. GO WITHOUT was then shifted back up the track once those runners passed GO WITHOUT and shortly after returned to its correct gait. GO WITHOUT was out of position at the candy pole and at the start. Driver S Grima pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 154(1) in that he failed to take all appropriate measures to return GO WITHOUT to its correct gait without interfering with the runners drawn to his inside. S Grima was fined $200. In addition, S Grima was found guilty of a charge under Rule 162(1)(f) in that after being out of position he scored up down the track in line with barrier 4 and not in line with his correct barrier of barrier 7. By doing so, he was able to maintain momentum and obtain a position in the running line sooner than he otherwise would have been able to. S Grima was fined $200.
BAXTER RED – Post-race blood sample.
RACE 5 – KING OF SWING STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
BLUTO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running leaving the 200 metres. Improved to the inside of HUTA NZ in anticipation of that runner shifting wider however when this did not occur and HUTA NZ shifted in marginally, BLUTO NZ struck marker pegs and was unable to secure clear running from that point on. After reviewing the incident, stewards were satisfied J Grimson met his obligations immediately upon being aware of the marker pegs and no further action was taken.
WAMBOYNEINAMERICA – Post-race swab sample.
ALTA WILLIAM – Pre-race blood sample.
RIPP – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 800 metres.
RACE 6 – NUTRIEN EQUINE TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres
AFFAIRE DE COVER - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected upon either examination. Out of position at the start. Placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.
SUNNY GEE - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected upon either examination.
CORMORAN STRIKE NZ – Post-race swab sample.
PESCO POLLO – Pre-race blood sample. Leaving the 200 metres had to be steadied away from SPEEDY LOVER which shifted out and subsequently PESCO POLLO raced roughly.
SPEEDY LOVER – Leaving the 200 metres shifted out when not quite clear of PESCO POLLO resulting in that runner being steadied and taken wider. Driver C Geary was advised to exercise care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in future.
I AM HELLBOUND – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 7 – CLUB MENANGLE ROD AND FRAN FITZPARTICK TATLOW STAKES (LISTED CLASSIC) – 1609 metres
HES A DANCER – Pre-race blood sample. Broke gait shortly after the start. Given the colt was only having its 3rd race start, connections were advised HES A DANCER would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
RISEABOVETHEREST – Pre-race blood sample.
BETTOR ELEMENTS – Approaching the 1200 metres was inclined to race roughly for a significant distance.
OH ITS ON – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 8 – LLOWALONG FARMS LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
CHARLIES ACE NZ - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected upon either examination.
RIVIERE – Pre-race blood sample.
JEWEL HEAVEN – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.
POPS JOY – Post-race swab sample.
A TRUE LOVE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small amount of blood in the offside nostril. Acting under Rule 101B(2) Trainer T Rue was advised A TRUE LOVE would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial.
RACE 9 – SYDNEY FREEZERS 3YO STAKES PACE – 1609 metres
ANDRETTI – Post-race swab sample.
STRAIGHTNNARROW – Pre-race blood sample.
SAN SEBASTIAN – Pre-race blood sample. passing the 200 metres had to be steadied away from EYE CAN EAR AMOUR which shifted out resulting in SAN SEBASTIAN racing roughly for a short distance.
EYE CAN EAR AMOUR – Leaving the 200 metres when endeavouring to shift wider had to be steadied and taken slightly wider than anticipated when ROCK WITH THE BEST raced onto the back of ETHANS REVENGE. Subsequently EYE CAN EAR AMOUR shifted wider resulting in SAN SEBASTIAN having to be steadied.
