RACE 1 – YENDA PRODS EQUINE NIGHT – 9 SEP 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS PACE – 1758 metres

CRANKINOVER – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 61.4 metres.

GOOD TALK – Shortly after the start hung in and contacted marker pegs before racing roughly for which a warning was issued.  Inconvenienced approaching the 400 metres as a result of WINFIELD BLUE giving ground.  Hung in rounding the final turn.

WINDFIELD BLUE – Commenced to give ground over the concluding stages before being beaten 45.4 metres

NEED SOME TIME – Post-race swab.  

MY ULTIMATE FRANCO NZ – Pre-race blood test.

BOGDANAVIC – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding not having raced for 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding.  Mr Painting explained that BOGDANAVIC hung in and was uncomfortable throughout the race.  He also indicated that he would attempt to make some gear alterations in the future and where possible stick to racing the gelding on 1000 metre tracks.

FIVE OCLOCK WAVE – At the request of connections will be re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 2 – SULLYS PAINTING LADYSHIP PACE – 1758 metres

ORSINO BELLE – Pre-race blood test.  Tightened and contacted marker pegs before being checked and broke.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 75 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MISS ARDLETHAN – Driver Trent Pilon was found guilty of a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the first turn he has made insufficient effort to correct his runner from shifting down the track causing ORSINO BELLE to be tightened contacting marker pegs before being checked and breaking gait.  Driver Trent Pilon had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of nine weeks to commence midnight 1 September 2026.  In assessing penalty Stewards considered Mr Pilon’s not guilty plea, poor record in relation to the rule and the circumstances of this incident. Further to the suspension Stewards referred Mr Pilon to the Licensing Committee to have his licence reviewed.

ANGELIC ATTITUDE – Post-race swab.

OURSURFINSAFARI – Inconvenienced as a result of ORSINO BELLE breaking gait.

DIDNT I – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Pre-race blood test.  Inconvenienced as a result of ORSINO BELLE breaking gait.

MOP NZ – Inconvenienced as a result of ORSINO BELLE breaking gait. 

OUR ULTIMATE JANE – Inconvenienced as a result of ORSINO BELLE breaking gait.

 

RACE 3 – PRV BUILDERS PACE – 1758 metres

SECURITY CHECK – Pre-race blood test.  Galloped out and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.  Broke gait passing the 350 metres free of interference for which a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MISS HERMES – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

TIGER IN HEAVEN – Approaching the 350 metres was inconvenienced as a result of SECURITY CHECK breaking gait.

OUR GIRL ECHO – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of SECURITY CHECK galloping out.  Driver Michael Day Jnr was questioned regarding his tactics in the event after electing to improve the mare three wide at the 1200 metres before being obliged to race three wide for the remainder of the journey and tiring over the concluding stages to be beaten 35.6 metres.  Mr Day Jnr felt that the pace eased out of the event and he would be able to work forward to find the position outside the leader however when he did move forward his mare was ungenuine and dropped the bit and was unable to secure the spot outside the leader and was obliged to race in a three wide position for the remainder of the event.

ZEUSS – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of SECURITY CHECK breaking gait.  Checked at the 350 metres as a result of SECURITY CHECKED breaking gait.

 

RACE 4 – BANG ON FABRICATORS PACE – 2147 metres

ONTHADARKSIDE – Post-race swab.

MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – Pre-race blood test.   

 

RACE 5 – DGS CARPENTRY 3YO FILLIES PACE – 1758 metres

MADDIE – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 33.1 metres.

LAMNA NASUS – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 30.5 metres.

CEEBEE – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 6 – SOUTHERN CENTRAL ENGINEERING PACE – 1758 metres

ROCK SPIRIT – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

BINALONG WAY – Out of position at the start before breaking gait after the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile starts.

MAMMALS DUDLEY – Raced roughly at various stages of the event before tiring to be beaten 63.4 metres.  In view of the overall performance of the colt MAMMALS DUDLEY will now be required to perform two requalifying trials and stood down for a period of 14 days.  At the request of connections MAMMALS DUDLEY will be re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1758 metres

SPREAD THE FEAR – Driver Peter McRae was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that approaching the 350 metres when improving three wide he has permitted the runner to progress onto the outside wheel of MASTER OF ILLUSION which was racing in advance of the mare before shifting marginally up the track which resulted in SHOOBEES SUNSET being checked and breaking gait.  In taking no further action Stewards were mindful of SHOOBEES SUNSET hanging in at the same time contributing to the overall incident.

NIFTY AMBITION – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

MELATI BOY – Held up over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

ARKLOW – Post-race swab.

SHOOBEES SUNSET – Pre-race blood test.  Approaching the 300 metres hung in before being checked and broke as a result of SPREAD THE FEAR shifting up the track slightly.

 

RACE 8 – WASHINGTON FURNITURE 2YO PACE – 1758 metres

DEXTERS DONE – Obtained a run to the inside of the leader SLOWBURN when that runner hung out under pressure.

SLOWBURN – Pre-race blood test.  Hung out under pressure.

MIDNIGHT WARRIOR – Hung in at various stages throughout the event before breaking under pressure at the 200 metres.  In view of the overall performance of the colt it will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

ROCK THE JET – Inconvenienced upon entry to the home straight when attempting to improve into a developing run at the same time  SLOWBURN was shifting up the track closing the gap that was becoming available to ROCK THE JET.

YELLOW RIVER – Post-race swab.

CHAPEL IN MOTION NZ – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start and will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.  Upon entry to the first turn broke and will be required to perform one requalifying trial.

 

RACE 9 – FRANKIE’S PIZZA PACE – 1758 metres

JOLTED LOVER – Pre-race blood test. 

BETTERTHANTHEBOYZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  

ALL SO SASSY – Post-race swab.

KEAYANG LUDYBUG – Pre-race blood test.  Hung out in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

GLAMOURS SYMBOL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
